DESIGN AND BUILD A CUSTOM DEFENDER?

Read on.....

This specific advert is for one of our award-winning 25 year old left-hand-drive Defender D110s. We are one of the only completely trusted exporters of the Defender into the US and Canada we do it quickly, we do it legally, and we do it very, very well.

We build every Defender we buy to the highest standard that you will be able to see in a 15 or 25 year-old vehicle (the minimum age for export to Canada and the US, respectively). However, the part of our business we are most proud of, and the part our customers are always most excited about and involved in, is our extensive custom build program. This is where we can design your Defender to your specifications.

In short: we will build your Defender exactly how you want it*
It’s what we do. All day, Every day.

Here’s how our process works:

1)  You design your Land Rover Defender 110 down to the smallest detail on our website, or by giving us a call; our US toll-free number is

1-800-984-3355.

We advise and assist in any way we can, talking you through any doubts you may have about quality or export.

You place an order with us.

2) We select you (or you choose) a vehicle from our extensive stock of petrol and diesel engine left hand drive station wagons. We carefully source the best available Defenders from dry climates; our fantastic buying team is always on the move and on the hunt for prime examples of 15- and 25-year-old Defenders on solid corrosion-free chassis, turning down anything short of the best.

3)  Your D110 begins its rebuild process. The Workshop Team strips it down to its bare structure, and goes over every inch of the vehicle in a logical and investigative / procedural manner, only passing it in to our Body Shop when it’s in tip-top mechanical and structural condition.

4) Your Defender D110 leaves the Body Shop with exactly the color and finish (matte, satin, gloss) you want – and it will look like new. The vehicle then moves to our Trim Shop, where a huge rebuild takes place from the ground up. Your specified accessories, tires, wheels, and interior finish are fitted. After a thorough clean and WaxOyl treatment, your Land Rover Defender D90 is complete.

5) By now you are eager to have your LRUK Custom Land Rover on your drive. You have long been receiving regular updates and pictures of your D110 throughout the build process. We organize the exportation of your finished custom-built vehicle. We have people every step of the way making sure things are done carefully and correctly.

6) Your Land Rover D110, built-to-order by Land Rovers UK, lands at your nearest port and you finally get to drive the Defender of your dreams home.

Every single one of our customers is a happy one. Look us up online – ‘Land Rovers UK Ltd’ – and read our testimonials. One thing our customers have in common is that they are all so heavily involved in the design and custom build process – you don’t place your order and a Defender turns up on your drive 10 weeks later. You’re involved every step of the way with our team.

It would be a gross understatement to say that our 20+ team of expert technicians know these machines like the backs of their hands. So take a plane, a train, or an automobile (many take all three!) to our premises in Somerset, South West England, and see first-hand the kind of experience and expertise our team possesses. Bring your family, bring your friends – we are always extremely pleased to welcome customers inside to see our beautiful Custom Defenders, of which we are immensely proud.

Look up our site online, check out our Facebook page, and don’t hesitate to give us a call from the US toll free on

Check out King Charles III's $17.6 million car collection

Fri, May 5 2023

King Charles III's coronation will take place in England on May 6, and being crowned a monarch comes with a long list of perks with four wheels. He will gain full access to the Royal Family's fleet of cars, which is valued at about GBP14 million (approximately $17.6 million). The two most expensive cars in the collection are nearly identical: they're a pair of Bentley State Limousine models (pictured) built for Queen Elizabeth II, King Charles III's mother, in 2002. Only two units were made, and they're both part of the Royal Family's fleet, so they're difficult to put a value on; it's not like one is going to end up listed on your favorite auction site anytime soon. British company Nationwide Vehicle Contracts, which compiled the list, estimates that each armored, 245-inch long sedan is worth at least GBP10,000,000 (roughly $12.6 million). Dropping below the eight-digit threshold, the second-most-valuable car in the Royal Family's fleet isn't really a car. It's the Gold State Coach, which Matchbox recently released a 1/64-scale replica of, and its value is estimated at GBP1.6 million (about $2 million). At 275 inches long it's even bigger than the Bentley limousine and it weighs about 9,000 pounds. It's 261 years old and designed to be pulled by eight horses, and has been part of every coronation since 1831. The rest of the Royal Family's vehicles are relatively mundane. There's a 1965 Aston Martin DB6 Volante that Queen Elizabeth II and her husband, Prince Phillip, bought for King Charles III on his 21st birthday. It's worth GBP1 million (about $1.2 million). The collection also includes a Rolls-Royce Phantom VI (about $627,000), a Bentley Bentayga (about $201,000), a Land Rover Range Rover long-wheelbase Landaulet ($133,000), a Jaguar XE (about $41,000), and a Land Rover Defender ($38,000). "Luxury cars have long been associated with the monarch and King Charles III, in particular, is known for his fondness of motor vehicles. His impressive collection features sentimental value with motors passed down from his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II, to cars bought for him by his parents," explained Keith Hawes, the director of Nationwide Vehicle Contracts, in an interview with CBS News. Being at the head of a car-making nation's royal family also comes with drawbacks: Every vehicle in King Charles III's fleet is British.

Jaguar CEO says people just don't want EVs right now

Mon, Jun 22 2015

"Customers are not impressed with it currently." These are the words of one Ralf Speth, CEO of Jaguar Land Rover, spoke at the Automotive News Europe Congress in Birmingham, England. The "it" Speth is referring to is battery technology, which he characterized as "too heavy, too expensive," and with power density that's "too low." That all could go some way towards explaining why the British automaker has yet to bring an electric vehicle to market, why it killed the C-X75 hybrid-turbine supercar project, and why it only recently started offering hybrid versions of its Range Rover models (and has yet to offer them in the United States). That doesn't mean the company won't pursue electric propulsion in the future, though. According to Automotive News Europe, Speth forecasts that "the next generation of batteries will be higher density, lower weight and the cost will come down." What he didn't say, exactly, is when he expects that next generation of battery tech to come around – or when JLR will start to more closely embrace electric propulsion. In the meantime, Jaguar Land Rover will continue investing in research and development. Since Tata acquired the brands from Ford seven years ago, JLR has quadrupled its R&D budget and doubled the number of engineers on staff. Related Video:

Jaguar Land Rover's latest tech makes roads safer for bikes [w/video]

Tue, Jan 20 2015

Safety in automobiles isn't just about protecting the occupants anymore. It's about protecting pedestrians who might be struck by an automobile, and as Jaguar Land Rover is demonstrating, it's about protecting cyclists as well. The latest experimental safety system from the British automaker is called Bike Sense, and it builds upon technologies the company has demonstrated recently, taking them a step further to make the road safer for those riding on two wheels. The system uses a combination of colors, sounds and vibrations to alert the driver of a potential hazard that might have otherwise gone unnoticed. Demonstrated on an XJ sedan, the system identifies nearby two-wheeled vehicles as pedal-powered or motorized, and alerts the driver accordingly. If a cycle is passing a the vehicle's blind spot, the top of the seat will vibrate to virtually "tap" the driver on the left or right shoulder, prompting him or her to look over that shoulder for the hazard. LEDs inside the cabin will then illuminate amber to red in the direction that the bike is passing. The system will even chime a bicycle bell or motorcycle horn as the two-wheeled vehicle approaches, and vibrate or stiffen the accelerator pedal if the driver keeps moving towards the obstacle. And if an occupant of the parked vehicle starts to open the door into the path of moving vehicle, it'll flash a light, sound an alarm and even vibrate the door handle to warn the occupant of the oncoming hazard. We could imagine the alerts getting a little distracting, but JLR says the system is designed to prioritize potential hazards when their are groups of pedestrians, bicyclists and/or motorcycle riders on a busy urban street. This is, of course, just the latest in a long string of new systems JLR has under development, following such technologies as the Transparent Bonnet, the Smart Assistant, the Virtual Windscreen for track sessions and the 360 Virtual Urban Windscreen for city driving.
