1990 Defender 110,Left Hand Drive that has a reconditioned 2.5 N/A diesel LT77 5 Speed transmission, Wolf Wheels and is in excellent mechanical shape but has the usual MOD patina (scuffy). Lots of cool extra's on this one like the military rifle holder between the driver and passenger, four Gerry Cans for the lockers, pick and shovel on the rear door, and a 24V alternator (in addition to the 12V). 121,XXX kilometers (approx 75,000 miles).  A military soft-top is also available.  I have also removed the paint from the rear windows since the pictures were taken.

It smokes on cold start-up then runs strong and smoke free once warm. This is a great project for either Military lovers or as the basis for a great off-road/expedition vehicle. There is a layer of Red paint on the roof so it was probably used as a Marshall's vehicle at some point. Passed BC Inspection eariler this year and is currently registered in British Columbia. Found a document under the passenger seat suggesting it was attached to the Hyde Park Barracks and therefor part of the "Household Calvalry" for Buckingham Palace.

Sorry but not old enough to import to the US unless you want to wait two years.  I imported this almost a year ago with another and can only keep one.  This is the nicest MOD Defender I have ever driven, nice and solid.  I am a Land Rover enthusiast and know my Defenders.

Any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Jaguar opens new engine plant in the UK

Thu, 30 Oct 2014

The heads of Jaguar Land Rover are having a busy couple of weeks opening factories. Just days after inaugurating the company's first overseas plant in China, the automaker's new Engine Manufacturing Center in the UK is being inaugurated, as well. The plant near Wolverhampton, England, marks the first time in decades that JLR is building its own powerplants in-house. Further signaling the importance of this launch for the business, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip were on hand and even tweeted about it.
The factory's first major project is to build JLR's latest Ingenium four-cylinders, starting with the 2.0-liter diesel version. "Our new Engine Manufacturing Centre is an important step in advancing the competitiveness and capability of the UK automotive sector. The production of in-house engines will support the expansion of the UK supply chain providing critical mass for inward investment," said Trevor Leeks, plant operations director in the automaker's announcement.
Opening the doors to the Engine Manufacturing Center has been years in the making for JLR. The plant was first announced in September 2011 and broke ground in June 2012. Building it cost the company 500 million pounds ($800 million) and created 1,400 new jobs. Of course, being a state-of-the-art factory, considerations were made to make the place as energy efficient as possible. That meant installing the UK's largest solar array with 21,000 panels to produce about 30 percent of the site's electricity needs.

Jaguar Land Rover considering Mexican plant

Mon, Apr 27 2015

Jaguar Land Rover has been expanding its production out of the UK and into overseas markets, and according to the latest word from Bloomberg, the British automaker is considering spending more than half a billion dollars to build a new assembly plant somewhere in Mexico. Since the Range Rover Sport and Evoque are two of the company's top sellers in the US, those would reportedly be the most likely to be manufactured at the Mexican plant, although Jaguars could follow as well. The automaker was previously said to be leaning towards a location in the Southern US, and while it could conceivably proceed with plans for both, it would be more likely to go with one or the other. State and local authorities below the Mason-Dixon line have been soliciting the business with various incentives, but lower labor costs South of the Border could prove more attractive to JLR and its parent company Tata. It wouldn't be the first, after all. Over the past month alone, General Motors committed to building the next Chevy Cruze in Mexico, Toyota did the same with the Corolla, Hyundai was reported to be considering a similar step, and Ford announced two new plants in the country amounting to a $2.5-billion investment. Luxury automakers like Audi, BMW and Mercedes have also been delving into Mexican production as well, blazing a path that JLR could potentially follow. The British automaker recently opened a plant in China and another in Brazil, while investing in additional facilities in the UK as well.
