.
.
LOADED with all options! NO RESERVE!! Clean carfax, title, and history.  Valid PA inspection until 3/14.

I took this video yesterday of the car itself, up close, the features, room, and with it starting and running, random little things. I apologize for it's length, it's just under 20 minutes, but I wanted it to feel like you sort of took the test drive yourself.  Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_cz3lwAqUY&feature=youtube_gdata

.

,
,
LUXURY PACKAGE: Five high quality tan leather bucket seats with adjustable headrests. Powered driver's seat w/ bolster & lumbar support. Front driver and passenger seats can be heated. Fresh oil change and transmission fluid. New headlight and fog light bulbs. New engine air filter.  The brakes were completely replaced about 3 years ago.  I know that doesn't really account for new parts, but it the vehicle received all new rotors, calipers etc.

OTHER: Two tone paint; roof rack, running boards  entire car was JUST professionally detailed inside and out, leather seats were cleaned, carpet was shampooed, exterior professionally washed and waxed for $100.  Has lots of courtesy lights, center arm rest & storage console, trip odometer.

Trunk has TONS of room. Retractable cover included, with original Kia trunk liner (see photo). It holds tons of stuff, and if you want ou can fold the middle seats down completely flat and have twice the space. Drives beautifully and smooth, and is FANTASTIC in snow. A few years ago, 16 inches of snow fell overnight at my house. Parked in our driveway was my Sorento, my friend's Ford Edge and my mother's Pontiac Aztec. My Sorento pulled right out of the driveway with no problem, while we had to shovel the other two SUVs out!! They were stuck!! Mine wasn't :)

The vehicle has been 100% reliable to me for 6 years, and the Kelly Blue Book value for this car is about $6,600 in a private party sale in "good condition".

(BTW: We have had this eBay account since February of 2008, just never used it)

"If it's so great you say, then why are you selling it?" is what I'm asked.  And the answer is one reason and one reason only and it starts with the letter H.  A big H.  We bought a HOUSE! And in a month I have to make mortgage payments.  Please write me and let me know if you are interested.   I'm in the Lehigh Valley, Delaware Valley & New Jersey all the time if you'd like to meet up and see the car in person.

A/C just Recharged today (5/29/13) by my mechanic -- now ICE COLD -- you're set for the summer!

On May-29-13 at 12:27:57 PDT, seller added the following information:

Forgot to add that the rear lift gate glass opens (see photo) with the touch of a button on the driver's door.  I'm sure there's more things I'm forgetting and I'll be uploading more photos during the next few days and adding more information.  It's 92 degrees here, I just drove the car a bit and the A/C blew ice cold.  Really, really good.

Also, did you check out the Youtube "test drive" video?  If you're serious about purchasing this car you should watch it.  I apologize for how long it is, I just wanted to cover as much as I could:

So I've have had a couple questions about the condition of the paint.  While it was just detailed, there are some scratches (being a 9 year old car) on the hood and one here or there on the side, but nothing major.

On May-29-13 at 20:55:38 PDT, seller added the following information:

Another thing I forgot to add, there is a roof mounted rear spoiler with a brake light near the roof rack :)

Nissan, Kia under investigation over occupant detection systems

Fri, Sep 4 2015

Kia and Nissan are facing separate investigations by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration because of alleged problems with the occupant detection systems in their vehicles' airbags. The larger investigation is NHTSA's new engineering analysis into 986,826 Nissan and Infiniti vehicles. They include the 2013 Nissan NV200 and 2013-2014 Altima, Leaf, Pathfinder, and Sentra. Among the Infinitis, there are the 2013 JX35 and 2014 Q50 and QX60. Owners allege the occupant classification system can misidentify passengers and turn off the airbag if they don't weigh enough. Nissan recalled over a million vehicles worldwide last year to fix the same problem with a software update, but NHTSA kept getting complaints about the issue after the repair. The agency opened a preliminary evaluation in March, and after 1,271 complaints it has now been updated to an engineering analysis. The Feds intend to evaluate the effectiveness of Nissan's solution. NHTSA is also opening a preliminary evaluation into the 2007-2009 Kia Spectra for the occupant classification not working properly, and it could affect an estimated 186,000 of these vehicles. The government agency has 43 complaints from people allegedly reporting the failures. According to NHTSA, the issue could result in the airbag not deploying with enough force or not activating at all in an accident. This investigation is meant to assess the scope of the potential flaw, and there's no recall yet. INVESTIGATION Subject : Occupant Classification System Fault Date Investigation Opened: SEP 01, 2015 Date Investigation Closed: Open NHTSA Action Number: PE15031 Component(s): AIR BAGS All Products Associated with this Investigation Vehicle Make Model Model Year(s) KIA SPECTRA 2007-2009 Details Manufacturer: Kia Motors America SUMMARY: The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) has received 43 complaints alleging a malfunction of the front passenger seat occupant classification system (OCS) in 2007-2009 Kia Spectra vehicles. The complaints report illumination of the SRS (air bag) warning light. All of the complaints allege the cause of the light illumination to be a malfunction of the OCS sensor mat imbedded in the passenger seat cushion, and/or report the presence of diagnostic trouble code B1448 which relates to the OCS sensor mat also. Many of the complaints note the malfunction occurred after the warranty period expired and mention high repair costs as a major deterrent to repairing the vehicle.

Recharge Wrap-up: Kia Niro caught at Nurburgring, Tesla & Ben & Jerry

Sat, May 30 2015

The Kia Niro hybrid was spied testing at the Nurburgring. The prototype of the 2016 Niro — which originally appeared as a concept at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show — is heavily camouflaged, so it is hard to tell which exterior features have been carried over. Its plate is registered to a hybrid, but other powertrain details are unavailable (the concept was equipped with a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine and electric drive system good for 158 horsepower). When it goes on sale, positioned below the Soul in Kia's lineup, it will only be available as a hybrid, with a plug-in hybrid version expected in later years. See the video above, and read more at Autoevolution and at Hybrid Cars. A new report from IHS Automotive predicts the EV charger market to surpass 12.7 million units by 2020. In Japan, the number of EV charging stations has surpassed the number of gas stations. The Netherlands, UK and Norway are the leaders in EV chargers in Europe, while Germany and France are slow in their infrastructure growth, relative to their size. CHAdeMO is the more popular charging standard worldwide, but CCS is expected to close the gap. According to the report, PHEVs will become more abundant than BEVs in 2016, and will remain so for a while. Read more at Green Car Congress. Kandi Electric Vehicles has signed a strategic agreement with telecommunications company ZTE Corporation and EV leasing company Zhejiang ZuoZhongYou Electric Vehicle Service (ZZY). The three groups will work together to improve Kandi's "Micro Public Transportation (MPT)" carsharing program. They'll collaborate on promotion, creating a research institute, doing research and development for wireless charging and making their operating system easier to use, among other endeavors. "We are excited to connect Kandi's innovative MPT model with ZTE's cutting-edge technologies," says Kandi Chairman and CEO Hu Xiaoming. "By leveraging ZZY's premium services, our goal is to accelerate MPT's market penetration, maintain our leadership position and achieve greater success in China's booming EV industry." 2018 Kia Stinger GT Long-Term Review Update | A romp in the snow

Tue, Jan 22 2019

After driving a slew of family sedans and crossovers, I was excited to take home our hard-charging, corner-craving 2018 Kia Stinger long-term car for a weekend of some sports car fun. Then Saturday came, bearing between three and four inches of snow and single digit temperatures. Lovely. But, the weather did offer an opportunity to put the Stinger through its first serious snow of the season, as well as the snow tires Nokian generously donated to us. And the big sedan hatchback did fine in the snow, but not exceptionally well. I appreciated the extra traction from the front wheels, which helped make crawling out of the deep snow in my driveway and accelerating through corners and at intersections easier. I didn't have much trouble breaking the rear wheels loose, either, confirming that the Stinger does indeed have a rear-wheel bias. Fortunately, it was pretty easy to control when the car would break traction, but it was easy enough that it felt as though the all-wheel-drive and traction control weren't doing much to optimize traction until the car really got loose. Then the traction control would quickly bring the car to a crawl to stabilize it. Cornering and braking were just OK, and it seemed to mostly be hampered by the Stinger's roughly 4,000-pound curb weight. I could feel that the car really wanted to keep forging straight ahead, and if I turned too fast or braked too late, it would take its opportunity to do so. Naturally this applies with any large vehicle, but it still feels surprising considering how agile the Stinger is on dry pavement. I hate to think what it would have been like driving the Stinger without the snow tires. On the low-profile all-seasons, I'm sure the traction control would be having conniptions, and I'd be crawling through corners and up to stops. Leaving my driveway probably would have taken a few forward and back attempts, too. Aside from the driving experience I was immensely grateful for the heated seats and steering wheel, both of which seemed to warm up quickly. Boy, though, I sure wish the Stinger had remote start. I'm sure it's not great for the environment, but oh how I wish I could have stepped out the door to an already toasty cabin this weekend. So there you have it. The Stinger GT definitely loses a lot of its fun character in the snow, but it will get you through it. And when things clear up, you'll be happy to have something sporty on hand.
