2002 Kia Sedona Ex Mini Passenger Van 5-door 3.5l on 2040-cars
Fairfield, Iowa, United States

Up for grab this gently driven family Kia Sedona being offered "AS IS", without warranty, expressed or implied, with the buyer being responsible for pickup or arrange for delivery.
The good: LF tire brand new, RF tire has about 25% life left, rear tires both about 40%. Engine has AMSOIL synthetic oil that should be good until odometer turns 200000. (AMSOIL is only changed at every 25000 miles) Motor runs very smoothly, the inside of the van is clean, non-smoker used. Fresh transmission flush. Comes with 2 keys and one clicker (remote car opener) The bad: Armrests of the seats are not staying in position - at least not all of them. Hatch (back) door handle needs to be pushed back into position to operate properly each time you open it (missing a spring?) Needs new parking brake cable. Obvious rust spots and dents several places on the body (see pics). AC has slight leak, needs top off at beginning of each AC season. Front and rear plastic bumper cover is cracked - fixed with white duct tape by previous owner - it never bothered me enough to buy new ones but they go for about 150.00 on ebay should you so desire. (You will only need the plastic cover not the whole bumper) Transmission has a very slight jerk on long roads once in a while. My mechanic says it could mean that the transmission started to go bad, but he had to take the van for a test drive twice to even notice it. I have no way of telling how long the transmission will last, but right now it is a great daily driver. In city traffic no one can detect any problem with it. Speeds up and shifts nicely. Test drive and a look trough is strongly encouraged. Send message through ebay to arrange one! It would be a good daily driver, or could be parted out (and I still might do that if it does not sell), but I probably would not take it cross country. I am willing to deliver the van to you in a 50 mile radius (from Fairfield,Iowa) for an additional 50 bucks. Good luck with bidding! |

Kia Soul EV starts production in Korea
Mon, Jun 16 2014As sister company Hyundai delivers its first Tucson fuel cell vehicles in California, Kia has kicked off volume production of the Soul EV in Korea. We've driven the prototype and are excited about the arrival of this electric vehicle. Kia is already calling the production start a landmark event, but let's remember that other automakers have been building production EVs for years now. The EVs won't be exported outside of Korea until later in 2014, but the automaker is hoping to make 5,000 a year at its Gwangju facility. The first batch is headed to "select European countries" with more coming to Europe at a later date. The vehicle might be coming to the US in the third quarter. The Soul EV is Kia's second production EV, following the Ray EV. Kia only made 2,500 of them for governmental agency use in Korea. We've got a little video on the Soul EV here. As a reminder, the Soul has a 27-kWh lithium-ion polymer battery which is good for a now-official range (on the European test cycle) of 212 kilometers. That's 132 miles, but expect a good chunk to get knocked off when it gets rated on the US text cycle. For example, the Nissan Leaf is rated at 199 kilometers (123 miles) in Europe but only 84 miles from the EPA. Read Kia's press release below. Start of production for all-electric Kia Soul EV Volume production of Soul EV for export is a landmark in Kia's history Ideal for commuters, Soul EV goes on sale outside Korea later in 2014 Class-leading drive range of 212 km certified for Europe 81.4 kW motor produces 285 Nm of torque for 'fun-to-drive' motoring The first vehicles off the production line are destined for select European countries and are scheduled to go on sale across the continent during the second half of the year. The Soul EV is manufactured at Kia's Gwangju facility in Korea, where annual output of the electric car is planned to reach 5,000 units. "Now that production of export models has begun, the new Soul EV is truly at the forefront of Kia's 'Clean Mobility' program, providing environmentally-friendly transport to our customers around the world," comments Thomas Oh, Executive Vice President and COO, Kia Motors Corporation.
Hyundai to buy electric vehicle batteries from SK Innovation, according to report
Sat, Dec 21 2019SEOUL — Hyundai Motor and affiliate Kia Motors have decided to secure electric vehicle batteries from SK Innovation for the next four to five years, Maeil Business Newspaper said on Friday, citing industry sources. The sources said the deal was worth more than 10 trillion won ($8.6 billion). SK Innovation, Hyundai Motor and Kia declined to comment. Hyundai Motor said in October it would launch 16 EV models by 2025, aiming to boost EV sales 560,000 by then, a level that would be equivalent to more than 10% of its projected global sales this year. 2018 Kia Stinger GT Long-Term Update | It's a hatch!
Fri, Jan 18 2019Our long-term 2018 Kia Stinger GT is a lovely sedan. We've talked a bit about what it's like to live with day-to-day and just how well the GT badge fits on a car like this. It's racked up more than 10,000 miles in the few months it's been in our fleet. I'm personally hoping we can crest 20,000 miles before its year with us is up. The sleek design (both inside and out), sharp handling and peppy 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 might get all the attention, but people tend to forget it's practical, too. Just look at that cargo area! I sometimes forget that most people don't spend all day and night thinking about cars, poring over photos and spec sheets like we do. When I posted a photo on Twitter last month, one commenter seemed quite surprised to realize that the Stinger had a hatch rather than a trunk. It's one of my favorite things about this car, but it seems it's not common knowledge. If we can't get a true wagon, hatches like the Stinger, the Porsche Panamera and Audi A5/S5/RS5 Sportback are great alternatives. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. The Stinger has 23.3 cubic feet of space with the seats up, though Kia doesn't list the area with the seats down. For reference, the Kia Optima has 15.9 cubic-feet in its trunk. Winter in Detroit sucks, and the Stinger GT's standard Michelin Pilot Sport 4S summer tires aren't ideal for sub-freezing temperatures. Nokian Tyres was kind enough to donate a set of Hakkapeliitta studless winter tires for the Stinger (more on those in another post soon). When the tires arrived, I put the seats down and threw all four in the back of the car and took it to the tire shop. I had to remove the sun shade, but that was the only real fitment issue. About a week later, just before Christmas, Amazon dropped the price on a 55-inch TV I've had my eye on for months. I placed my order and had it shipped to our office lest package thieves steal it from my porch. I wasn't sure it would fit in the Stinger, but it was just about perfect. Another half inch and I would have needed our long-term Honda Ridgeline. Related Video:
