2003 Kia Optima Se Sedan 4-door 2.7l on 2040-cars
Elmwood Park, Illinois, United States

2003 Kia Optima SE V6 $3000.00 OBO This car is a great runner the engine and transmission is perfect. The car has 131,000 miles on it and very well can last another 100,000 miles if you take care of your vehicles. This was my wife's car, we are expecting another baby in a few months so we purchased a van for the extra seating, that is why we are selling the car. Strong runner, Heat & AC work as do the power windows and power seats, we just had replaced the high pressure power steering hose on the car. The car check engine light is on, my wife did take to autozone around 3 months ago and they told her it was a O2 sensor. The auto locks do have a issue where they engage automatically a few times when you don't want them too. You can pull the fuse and just lock and unlock the car with the key, but that is up to you. The airbag light is on, I never had that checked or cared to, most of the used cars I have owned over the years that light always seems on. The right and left sides of the rear bumper has paint peeling on each side Two tires on the car will need to be replaced, they are ok now, and you can drive on them, but they will need replacing before next winter. The car is real nice and does run well, other then what I have listed it just has normal ware & tear that you would expect from a 2003. The car in fair condition on Kelly blue book states it is worth about $3300.00 I feel it is better then in just fair condition. So that is where I came up with my price. Any other questions feel free to ask. If you are looking for a great runner that looks decent then this is the car for you. Paypal deposit of $500.00 is required Immediately after auction end, the rest of the payment is due in cash when you pick up the car within 7 days after auction end. I will take cash ONLY, so no personal checks, money orders etc.. No games & serious buyers only, I have sold a car on here before and had no problems. So I figured I would try again. I describe everything in detail and to the best of my knowledge, that is why I have 100% feedback, so you can purchase with confidence. |

Peter Schreyer designs the future of Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis
Fri, Mar 25 2016Peter Schreyer now leads the design teams at Hyundai, Kia, and the new Genesis brand. He has the difficult task of differentiating the three brands aesthetically, even if they share mechanical components. A new profile about the designer by Bloomberg shows just how much he means to the Korean brands, and it's well worth a read. According to Bloomberg, Schreyer has distinctive ideas for the Korean brands' design. A Kia should look sporty and appeal to young buyers. In contrast, a Hyundai would be for someone who prefers a minimalist design. So far, Genesis is blending those traits for its Athletic Elegance design language. Schreyer went to Kia from Volkswagen Group in 2006, and his mission was to revolutionize the Korean's brand's boring look. He succeeded with sharper, more modern designs for vehicles like the Optima and Sorento that arrived after he took over. He did such a good job there that Hyundai-Kia Motor Group appointed him as its first non-Korean president at the end of 2012. He also now oversees former Lamborghini designer Luc Donckerwolke at the Genesis luxury brand. Bloomberg speaks with industry analysts and other designers to get a better idea of Schreyer's meaning to the company. The piece presents him as an easygoing person who knows exactly how each vehicle should look. If you want to get a better Schreyer and his work at Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis, the story is worth checking out. Related Video:
Go fetch yourself: Hyundai Le Fil Rouge shows off self-parking and wireless charging
Thu, Jan 3 2019With the impending onset of autonomous technology, future cars will not only be able to drive people to their destinations without assistance, they'll also be able to perform tasks without humans in them at all. Hyundai and Kia, among other companies, see this as an opportunity to solve small infrastructure problems and quell inconveniences. In particular, the Hyundai group envisions an electric car that can park and charge itself using wireless induction technology. Using the Le Fil Rouge concept car as the subject, Hyundai released a video that demonstrates how this idea could potentially work. Assume that autonomous cars will be interlinked through a network. In this video, a parking garage and the owner of the network also have access and connectivity to that theoretical system. After the driver gets out of the car at her destination, she uses an app on her smartphone to instruct the car to go to the nearest available charging station. The car then drives to a paired parking garage, sans humans, and parks itself in an available spot with a wireless charging pad. Using magnetic induction, the car refills on energy. When the charge is complete, it then moves itself to a different normal parking spot using the so-called Automated Valet Parking System (AVPS) until the owner is ready for the car. When the owner summons the car using the app, the Le Fil Rouge, now shown in the video as ready with 341 miles of range, wakes itself up and drives back to the owner. Although this is a concept for now, Hyundai and Kia believe it could become a reality within the decade. They are considering commercializing such technology with their Level 4 autonomous vehicles, which are expected to launch about 2025. The ultimate goal of launching fully autonomous rides is set for 2030. The idea of self-parking is something several manufacturers are already working on. Tesla has its summon feature, NIssan is exploring the idea with its Pro Pilot program, and Volkswagen plans to unveil its own version in 2020. At this point, both wireless charging and self-parking features seem inevitable. Hyundai Le Fil Rouge Self-Parking View 5 Photos Related Video:
Superman joining Kia's Justice League-themed fleet of vehicles
Tue, 29 Jan 2013Kia is teaming up with the Justice League once again to create another show car that will be on display at the Chicago Auto Show. At the 2012 SEMA Show, Kia showed off various models inspired by DC Entertainment characters Batman, Aquaman, Flash, Green Lantern and Cyborg, but a Superman-themed Kia Optima Hybrid will roll into the Windy City for next week's show.
In the above drawing, we only get to see a small portion of this car inspired by the Man of Steel, but it will have the requisite red-and-blue paint scheme with Superman's shield on the hood (subtle, it is not).
The previous cars include the Batman Optima, Aquaman Rio, Flash Forte Koup, Green Lantern Soul and Cyborg Forte. All six cars were created to raise awareness for the "We Can Be Heroes" campaign, which helps families in eastern Africa affected by drought and famine.
