One of the best and lovingly cared for Jeeps around ANYWHERE. My son drove this only his junior year in high school. We have cared for it, for the last 3 years. This Jeep has always been properly maintained, no expense spared ever, and garaged by me as by previous owners. I purchased it from a local friend of a friend. It was his daughters Jeep. We both purchased this vehicle for similar reasons. For one it is loaded, clean with no damage, and has the safety features we wanted for our kids. This Jeep was for my son's 16th birthday present from me so you can be assured that it is not only the best around, but has received only the best in tasteful updates. The high and low 4-wheel drive engages perfectly. It's never been off-road, no mud anywhere. Absolutely no rust anywhere. We have retained the take-offs in my warehouse such as bumpers, fender flares, lights etc. It also comes with soft top, doors, and bimini tops. We haven't ever used any of those but they look to be in great shape. After much research I decided to redo the top and half doors with marine-grade black paint, finished with a satin marine-grade top coat. While the top was off the headliner was professionally re-done. I did not want to lift the Jeep too high for safety aspects, so went with a 3" lift, also professionally installed. This by 4-Wheel Parts in Coppell, Texas. We added the Rockstar Wheels, with Nitto Trail Trampler M/T tires, with approx. 10k miles. Spare wheel/tire have never hit the ground. Always Mobil 1, just done. Heck even the hood light works! Incredible stereo system is all I can say (too much for me). Total cost $1759.24 + $475.00 intallation.

I have included cost of most items below, but not all. This Jeep, and add-ons speak for itself, no disappointments here!!

-Wagoner Halogen lights
-Cold air intake
-Battery
-Headers for a little more HP and gas mileage
-Rough Country Off Road Suspension
-New rotors pads, and brakes all around
-Powder coated body bars with non-skid
-Smitty Built bumpers, rear with pull out, heavy duty tire carrier, and receiver
-Rear lights
-Kenwood Touch screen 7" wide in-dash $729.99
-Alpine AMP 5ch 75x4 $569.99
-10" JLAO 300w Subwoofer $239.99 custom made for Jeep attached to rear swing out door
-Six speaker overhead bar
-New side dash speaker and twitter on drivers and passenger side
-Diamond plate protective covers drivers, and passenger side
-Sheep skin seat covers
-Recently replaced serpentine belt
-Hard top
-Bimini top (s)
-Soft top - Bestop part number: 51120
-Windows professionally tinted
-Soft top with soft door halfs
-Locking black gas cover
-Composite antenna
-Custom bra - "Him" band logo - son's favorite at the time
-New Jeep gray heavy duty Jeep cover - $99.99
-Nitto Trail Trampler M/Ts - 305/55/20 $2848.75
-Rockstar wheels (5) - 20"x10" - Just right for the look!
-Bushwacker Body Gear - flat style fender flares with lights

I would be receptive to an offer without the stereo system.

The only reason we are selling this awesome Jeep is my boy is off to college, he always wanted a GTi Golf, well that's what I got him for college. This Jeep is incredible, gets compliments all the time. People cannot believe it is a 1999 model, you won't either. We are "car guys" and it shows. Check out the July 2011, issue of "Super Chevy Magazine". On the cover and featured inside are our 1970 Chevelle SS454 LS6 cars.

If you have 0 feedback, or little to no experience on Ebay you MUST contact me prior to bidding or I will remove your bid. The Jeep is for sale locally so might be removed if it sells here.
No warranty expressed or given. Buyer is responsible for shipping, but we will assist in loading. All extras should fit inside with back seat down.

Are future vehicular hacks inevitable?

Wed, Jul 29 2015

Before the hack of the Uconnect system in a Jeep Cherokee resulted in a 1.4-million vehicle recall, the potential software vulnerabilities in vehicles were already a hot topic with Congressional inquiries and even proposed legislation in the US. As cars' interconnected systems gain the ability to go online, they become open to a host of new threats. Automakers are trying to stop this, but it might be too late to put the genie back into the bottle. Throughout 2015, the issue of software security in vehicles has become increasingly vital. For example, the recent Jeep case wasn't even the biggest hack this year. In February, a major flaw was discovered in the BMW Connected Drive service that allowed researchers to remotely lock and unlock the doors and potentially affected 2.2 million cars. The fix was an over-the-air patch for the problem. Automakers are actively working to fix the issues. Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Audi reportedly are using encrypted connections and firewalls in their vehicles to prevent hacking. "Absolute, 100-percent safety isn't possible," Daimler spokesperson Benjamin Oberkersch said to Automotive News Europe. "But we develop our systems, tested by internal and external experts, so they're up to date." These vulnerabilities seem to be popping up more often. A successful hack took $14 in parts from Radio Shack in one case. There was also a 60 Minutes report earlier in the year about DARPA's ability to hack into OnStar to take control of a Chevrolet Impala. Experts aren't so sure companies can contend with hackers' advancement. "The difficulty for the carmakers at the moment is the question whether they can keep pace with advances in technology, and especially hacking technology," Rainer Scholz, executive director for telematics consultant EY, said to Automotive News Europe. "We seriously doubt they can." At this point, vehicle hacks are coming more from researchers looking for holes than from those with malicious intent. Still, the vulnerabilities are definitely there. It's up to automakers to keep patching the problems before they become dangerous to drivers. 2018 Jeep Compass Trailhawk Drivers' Notes Review | Trying to find its way

Fri, Mar 16 2018

The Jeep Compass Trailhawk is the smaller sibling to the Cherokee off-roader. They look a lot alike, and generally that seems to be a good thing. We spent some time with it, both in Michigan and the Pacific Northwest. It seemed like the perfect little ute to tackle rain and late snow, as well as the cratered roads surrounding Detroit every spring. Here's what we thought after spending some quality time together: Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore: The Jeep Compass is one of the coolest compact crossovers you can buy. Jeep has struggled to translate its genetics into smaller models, but they come through in this one. The Trailhawk trim provides plenty of capability. Even if you don't need it on a daily basis, the package adds design flourishes like red tow hooks and a two-tone black roof, which look slick. Our test model's olive green paint also puts off a heritage vibe. I like that. It's subtle, like wearing a watch with a NATO band. The interior looks and feels premium, with leather seats, a leather-trimmed steering wheel and ambient lighting. Uconnect remains one of my favorite infotainment systems on the market, and its simplicity is an industry benchmark. The inline four-cylinder and nine-speed automatic transmission work well together. In fact, the smooth shifting surprises me, as I've had issues with this gearbox in other Fiat Chrysler vehicles. Overall, I would consider the Compass among the better options for car shoppers. It stands out in a segment that's fairly vanilla, though the less flashy but well-executed Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4 are formidable. I wouldn't get the Trailhawk trim on a Compass, but it's smart of Jeep to push this kind of off-road capability thoughout its lineup. Associate Editor Joel Stocksdale: I've recently spent some time in the refreshed Jeep Cherokee, which I found to be a decent crossover, if not class-leading, and it had a distinctly truck-like feel, unlike its competitors. The Compass Trailhawk is just the same, except at about 2/3 scale. The truck-like feel is what really stood out. The seating position is very tall, giving you a good view forward and of the corners of the Compass. Combined with the small size, it makes it very easy to maneuver around town, and likely on tight trails. The ride on this Trailhawk model is a bit stiff over small bumps, but it does soak up the large ones fairly well. This suspension and the raised ride height also make the Compass seem a little tipsy.

Jeep three-row SUV caught on public roads — Grand Wagoneer, perhaps?

Wed, Oct 4 2017

For years, it's been rumored that Jeep is working on a full-size three-row crossover. The Grand Cherokee sells well, but it doesn't match the space of its platform sibling, the Dodge Durango. At this year's Shanghai Auto Show, Jeep revealed the Yuntu Concept, a plug-in three-row crossover designed for the Chinese market. While the automaker was adamant that this was just a concept, our spy photographers have seen a prototype running around near FCA's headquarters in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Though this is still heavily camouflaged, we can see a few details that show this is indeed a version of the Yuntu. The headlights, taillights and windows are the biggest tells, as they're nothing like what's currently on any production Jeep. The long wheelbase gives away the SUV's three-row nature. We can't make out much else, but expect the final version to look like a Durango-sized version of the new Jeep Compass with a black roof and clear lighting. We don't know what rests under the hood, but the Yuntu concept is a plug-in hybrid. FCA really needs some electrified vehicles in its lineup if it's going to compete with other mainstream automakers. If the Yuntu makes it to production, expect it to wear a name like Grand Wagoneer. We just hope for wood panels. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party.
