1991 Jeep YJ, 4.0 Inline 6, TF999 Auto 3 Speed. It's an AC equipped Jeep that currently runs a soft top and 1/2 doors. This jeep was built at Independent4x in Ashland VA and is an amazingly well balanced rig.
Plenty of pics of every detail you could want! If you don't see anything, just let me know and I can snap more.  See the below question to copy and past the link to my photobucket link with 118 pics under questions asked.

I have 3 kids and a wife that I want to take with me, an we just will not fit, so this needs to go so I can start a new build with 4 doors. I will consider partial trades, but need the cash.
Front Axle: Chevy Dana 60 that is built with 4:56 gears and an ARB. The axle was completely rebuilt with all new bearings and seals through out. New old stock spicer hubs, 35 spline outers, Warn premium hubs and new calipers, rotors and brakes. Cross over steering with 1 ton TREs and .25 wall drag link and tierod.

Rear Axle: 14 bolt that was completely rebuilt with 4:56 gears and a Detroit. This is not a CUCV axle and every part is new. Disc brake conversion as well.

Suspension: Front spring over with modified Rancho 44044 Wagoneer springs. Shackle reversal with shackles through the frame. Bilstein shocks round out the front suspension.

Rear suspension is a custom 4 link that is mimicked after the Tera-Flex LCG geometry. Triangulated uppers and all links are .25 wall and use RH/LH threaded inserts with Tera-Flex joints on both ends. 14" Sway-away emulsion coil overs with dual rate kits that are hung from Gen-Right towers. Tera-Flex limit straps.

15 gallon Gen-Right crawler fuel tank and skid plate with a new fuel pump assembly.

Dana 300 transfer case that was rebuilt with 32 spline HD outputs and was adapted to the TF999 with a clocking ring that clocked the transfer case flat. Advance Adapters twin sticks control the axles. High Angle Driveline 32 spline CV flange and High Angle transfer Emergency Brake that connects to the factory E Brake pedal.

Driveshafts are both High Angle Drivelines. 1350 CV to 1410 out back and 1310 to 1410 long travel shaft in the front.

The front frame was chopped off and a custom frame was constructed out of 2x4 .25 wall steel that incorporates a front bumper and winch plate. The steering box was moved forward to accommodate the front stretch.

The braking is handled by the stock YJ booster with a Dodge 2500 MC that stops the jeep amazingly well.

ARB compressor and an Optima Red Top Battery round out the otherwise stock motor compartment.

Custom rear swingout bumper that was built to accommodate an 8 lug spare.

The interior is mostly stock with good condition stock vinyl seats that are on new Bestop seat risers. A Tuffy security console has also been installed as well as new seat belts all around.

37x12.50 R17 MTR Kevlars on 17x8 Steel Wheels that have been painted off-white with appliance paint for easy durable touch ups.

The wheelbase has been stretched to 100".

SOFT TOP: Softtopper soft top that is white and made to work with the installed 92-95 style family roll bar. All windows zip out easily and store in an overhead compartment for easy quick changes incase it rains.

All major rust was repaired and the interior has been bed lined. The passenger fender was replaced and is black.

Complete new custom exhaust from the header back with a new cat and Flowmaster 50 muffler that is tucked up high out of the way of rocks. The tail pipe exits out the back and has been snake around all of the rear suspension links

The cooling system is 100% new. The radiator, water pump, fan clutch, T Stat hoses and heater core have all been replaced.

The transmission was just replaced with a rebuilt unit and a new converter.

The timing chain was just replaced and the oil pan was resealed and everything inside looked great. No leaks anywhere!

The jeep is ready to wheel and drive with all parts having less that 500 miles. No expense was spared and the only items that are needed are a full size spare, rock sliders and a paint job if you want. I do have new windshield seals that are ready to be installed once the jeep is painted that will be included. Feel free to email with any questions. I am a cop and work midnights, so just leave your number if you have any questions and I will call you back when I wake up.

20k in NEW parts invested in the build and over 27k total..

As with any 20+ year old vehicle, it has faded paint, minor blemishes and 114k miles of use. I have described the vehicle to the best of my ability and welcome any inspections. If you need any additional photos, just let me know.

Located in Mechanicsville, VA  23116 (Just outside of Richmond) and I am confident that it will make any long distance drive.

Feel free to throw out an offer. I will consider a partial trade for a family 4x4 like FJ60/62s,80s and Wagoneers etc...Thanks for looking!

2018 Hyundai Kona vs other small crossovers: How they compare on paper

Tue, Apr 10 2018

The 2018 Hyundai Kona is the hottest new thing in the hottest new segment: subcompact crossovers. Or B-segment SUVs. Or whatever you might want to call this hodge-podge collection of vehicles of vaguely similar specs. Each is pretty much just a raised hatchback in some form (or literally in the case of one entry), skewing the increasingly vague line between car and SUV. If there was ever a segment that deserved the term "crossover" for more reasons than just its car-based unibody architecture, this would be it. Now, for this specs and photos comparison, we lined up the new 2018 Kona with an appropriate variety from that hodge-podge. Most are those that people are actually cross-shopping the Kona against — the Honda HR-V, Toyota C-HR and Subaru Crosstrek — while the Kia Soul and Jeep Renegade line up well in other regards. There are certainly others we could've included, but we're frankly a little pressed for spreadsheet space, and if you really want to know how a Chevrolet Trax, Fiat 500X or Ford EcoSport would've stacked up, you can always use our Compare Cars feature. (You can also check out our Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross comparison that includes a few larger choices) Performance, fuel economy and drivetrains Immediately you can see how all over the map this segment is. True, all but the Jeep come with a standard naturally aspirated four-cylinder and fairly comparable horsepower. Torque differs, but not wildly so. Then things get nuts. Some are automatic only, the Toyota is CVT only, the Honda and Subaru come with a manual standard and offer a CVT as an option. The Renegade's base engine is manual-only ... in 2018. Of course, then things flip-flop with the Renegade's upgrade being naturally aspirated and the Hyundai and Kia offering turbocharged mills. The Korean corporate cousins also come with automated manuals, whereas the Renegade has a box with nine gears selected by a lethargic monkey. Then there's the drivetrain. The C-HR is front-drive only, which pretty much cements the Soul's place in a segment it arguably created despite not offering all-wheel drive. That's the only way to get the Crosstrek, while the Honda and Hyundai offer a typical option of a part-time system. In Jeep fashion, the Renegade's "four-wheel drive" systems differ by trim level.

Chrysler recalling nearly half a million Durangos and Grand Cherokees

Fri, Feb 27 2015

Rule number one of public relations – save the bad news for Friday. Fiat Chrysler has adhered to that, announcing today that it'd be voluntarily recalling 467,480 SUVs. This latest recall could actually be thought of as a continuation of a September 2014 recall, relating to the fuel-cell relay. In that case, some 188,723 Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee CUVs from model year 2011 were recalled. And this time, it's the Durango and GC in trouble again. FCA is adding crossovers from model years 2012 and 2013 to the fuel-pump recall, although only diesel-powered Jeeps with the 3.0-liter V6 that were sold outside of North America are affected this time around. As with the previous recall, deformities in the fuel-pump relay, which could affect its functioning. In most cases, FCA reports that the affected vehicles simply won't start, although they also could be prone to stalling. A new relay circuit will be installed that promises increase durability. Of the 467,480 vehicles being recalled, 338,216 were sold in the US market, 18,991 went to Canada and 10,829 were shipped south of the border, to Mexico. Outside of the NAFTA region, FCA is recalling 99,444 vehicles. No injuries or accidents have been associated with this recall. Statement: Fuel-Pump Relay February 27, 2015 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - FCA US LLC is voluntarily recalling an estimated 467,480 SUVs worldwide to install new a relay circuit that improves fuel-pump relay durability. FCA US engineers have determined a condition identified in a previous investigation may extend to additional vehicles. The previous investigation, which led to a recall, traced a pattern of repairs to fuel-pump relays that are susceptible to deformation. This may affect fuel-pump function, preventing a vehicle from starting, or leading to engine stall. Of the two scenarios, the no-start condition is the more common. FCA US is unaware of any related injuries or accidents. The fuel-pump relay is located inside the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM), which also helps manage other vehicle functions. None of these other functions, including air-bag deployment, is affected by the fuel-pump relay. The new campaign affects an estimated 338,216 vehicles in the U.S.; 18,991 in Canada; 10,829 in Mexico and 99,444 outside the NAFTA region. Covered are model-year 2012 and 2013 Dodge Durango full-size SUVs and non-NAFTA 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee mid-size SUVs equipped with 3.0-liter diesel engines.

Dodge Durango SRT vs. Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT | Which should you buy?

Wed, Jul 19 2017

Choice is a good thing. And when it comes to high-performance sport utility vehicles, there are more choices today than ever before to tantalize buyers into showrooms. And why not? Americans love SUVs, and, while there's a stronger push to go green now than ever before in the history of internal combustion, there's still a large contingent of buyers who firmly believe in choosing the biggest, baddest, most powerful powerplant. For those buyers, the Dodge Durango SRT and Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT are two of the most potent options. But which one should you buy? They both deliver 475 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. They both do 0-60 in around 4.4 seconds, and both boast top speed numbers that will handily land you in jail if written on a speeding ticket. Choosing between the two, then, is a bit more nuanced than which is faster. That said, the Jeep is probably a bit quicker at the track than the Dodge. We'd wager than the Grand Cherokee SRT's 5,104-pound curb weight (versus 5,510 for the Durango SRT) and 114.8-inch wheelbase (versus 119.8) will pay small dividends in acceleration, cornering, and braking performance. So, if that's the only category by which you believe these SRT-fettled SUVs should be judged, choose the Jeep. View 17 Photos But let's get real here for a moment. As much fun as it is to wrangle a brutish ute 'round a racetrack – and trust us when we tell you it's a blast – the number of hi-po SUV owners who will ever show up at Bondurant in an SRT-badged 4x4 is probably in the single digits. So, when evaluating which of the two Hemi-powered vehicles is right for you, ultimate lap times are probably of little concern. If you're choosing between these two overpowered players, practicality is probably just as important as performance. And in that category, the Durango SRT comes out on top. For starters, the Dodge is a three-row SUV with six seats, whereas the Jeep is a two-row, five-passenger platform. Fold down the rear bench and there's 84.5 cubic feet of cargo area in the Durango, versus 68.7 in the Grand Cherokee. And if you tow, the Durango SRT's 8,600-pound max rating handily bests that of the Grand Cherokee SRT's 7,200-pound capacity. Ask yourself what's most important: performance or practicality. And then consider the price. The Dodge is nearly $4,000 less expensive than the Jeep.
