THIS JEEP WRANGLER IS SOLD AS IS! On Jun-12-14 at 19:24:07 PDT, seller added the following information: The vehicle is also equipped with the following: -Fox 2.0 steering stabilizer -Truck-lite LED reverse lights -Truck-lite LED side markers We should also add that this vehicle was built without any expense spared. Every single bolt that was installed for the flares, bumpers, etc. was powder coated black, and all of the parts that were used in the build were only the best. All of the parts that were installed, meaning the front and rear bumper, light brackets, and other satin black parts on the Jeep were powder coated through the highest quality establishment in the area. The powder coating cost alone was more than the cost of most aftermarket bumpers. The Poison Spyder Crusher Flares were painted through a reputable paint shop, and both the topside and the underside were completed in the identical paint to the factory Jeep paint code. All of the mounting hardware for the flares, the brackets, bolts, etc. were powder coated black for aesthetic purposes and for resilience to the elements. There have also been several questions about the ride of the vehicle and how it handles on the highway. The vehicle components that were used to raise the Jeep i.e. the Fox 2.0 reservoir shocks and the Rock Krawler lift kit, are amongst the highest quality parts available on the market today. The vehicle rides very similar to stock, and is not harsh at all for someone that wants to use it on the highway or for city driving. For someone who is very use to driving a stock height Jeep, this would require no adaptation whatsoever. Also, I should add that the tires were installed with tire pressure monitoring sensors, even the fifth tire, so the sensor does not stay on as with most modded Jeeps. All of the computer adjustments were made using a AEV ProCal which is included in the sale along with the Warn winch control. If there are any further questions, feel free to contact me. Or is you wish to discuss the vehicle over the phone, simply message me and I will provide my number for contact. Thank you for you interest! |

Junkyard Gem: 1983 AM General postal Jeep DJ-5L
Wed, Mar 14 2018When neither snow nor rain nor gloom of night will stay you from your appointed rounds, you don't need fancy styling or futuristic technology. All you need is a simple steel box with four wheels, one seat (on the right-hand side), a mail-sorting tray, and an engine. The Jeep DJ was that vehicle, and DJs served as workhorses for the United States Postal Service starting in 1955 and — in some rural areas— into our current century. Here's one of the last ones made, found covered with snow in a Denver self-service wrecking yard. Related: Postal truck prototypes spied from Oshkosh and Karsan When American Motors bought Jeep in 1970, it built and sold DJs via its AM General subsidiary. The DJ-5 was a stripped-down, two-wheel-drive version of the pretty-spartan-to-start-with Jeep CJ, and there wasn't much to go wrong with it. The final year for the DJ-5 was 1984. During the AMC era, the DJ received an ever-shifting array of engines, depending on what looked like the best deal in Kenosha at a given time. Starting with the Chevrolet Nova straight-four, Jeep DJ engine compartments boasted AMC straight-sixes of 232- and 258-cubic-inch displacements, followed by Audi 2-liter straight-fours (yes, the same engine used by the Porsche 924), then the 2.5-liter GM Iron Duke four, and finally the 2.5-liter AMC straight-four. This DJ-5L has Duke power. The early DJs had manual transmissions, but all the AM General DJ-5s came with automatics. If you think an Iron Duke powering a Jeep is odd, consider that it's bolted to a Chrysler Torqueflite transmission. Once the USPS was done with them, cheap DJ-5s flooded the market. This one has had a random junkyard seat swap, but retains the handy mail-sorting tray. Featured Gallery Junked 1983 Jeep DJ-5L View 21 Photos Jeep Commercial Vehicles Classics amc mail truck
Jeep Renegade and Fiat 500X finally on the way to dealers
Mon, Jun 1 2015After a brief pause, the Jeep Renegade and Fiat 500X are on their way to dealers again. While initially reported as a software bug, the issue had nothing to do with the models themselves. According to a statement from FCA US to Autoblog, the "vehicles were built with an atypical Vehicle Identification Number that may not be recognized as valid by some computer systems." That problem has now been fixed. FCA US held the compact crossovers back from dealers until the company could rectify the bug. If the CUVs had been delivered, there would have been difficulty registering the vehicles, according to Automotive News. Before discovering the situation, about 20 of these Renegades were sold to customers. FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne originally discussed the predicament in late May. "I'm having a very bad engineering day," he said. "It's a combination of attributes of that vehicle that is making my life horrible." While the boss predicted the problem would be fixed as late as mid-June, the company apparently got things working much quicker than that. Related Video: FCA US Statement A limited number of 2015 Jeep Renegade and 2016 Fiat 500X vehicles were built with an atypical Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) that may not be recognized as valid by some computer systems. This VIN issue has been resolved. FCA US has been working with governmental agencies, insurers and financial institutions with whom customers may interact to ensure successful registration, financing and insurance coverage. Renegade and 500X vehicles are being shipped and are in stock at dealerships for purchase. The VIN issue is entirely separate from the operation of the vehicle.
If you love this Lego Jeep Wrangler you can help make it a reality
Wed, Nov 23 2016Lego and Jeep: two great tastes that taste great together. At least, that's our theory. The Jeep Wrangler is already a blocky and charismatic thing, and we've seen enough Lego vehicle builds to be intimately familiar with the tug on our heatstrings for a tiny version of it. Remember the Lego BMW motorcycle, or the Lego Caterham? There's a perfect storm here of nostalgia, disposable income among its target audience, and admirable creativity on the part of the builder. Just look at this model! The proportions are really close, and things like the curve of the hood and the seven-slot grille are spot-on. The hardtop is removable, revealing a roll cage, just like on the real thing. The 62-mm tires look plenty tough to handle a mountain of blocks. Here's the thing, though: This model isn't available yet, and might never be. Unless you (yes, you!) command your mouse-clicking finger to vote for this user-submitted model proposal on Lego Ideas. At the time of this writing, submitter CK80 is at around 1,100 votes, and he or she needs 10,000 for this DIY Wrangler to be elevated into the pantheon of official Lego kits.
