MY 2014 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED FREEDOM EDITION. THIS JEEP CURRENTLY HAS 1100 MILES ON IT AND HAS NEVER SEEN THE MUD OR DIRT. I STARTED BY REMOVING THE STICKERS AND EMBLEMS THAT COME WITH THE FREEDOM EDITION AND PAINTED THE GRILLE WHITE. SMITTY BILT GRAB HANDLES AT ALL FOUR DOORS HELP YOU GET INTO THIS CUSTOM UNLIMITED. I INSTALLED A TERAFLEX 6 INCH LONG ARM KIT USING THEIR 9550 SHOCKS ALONG WITH A RUBICON EXPRESS FRONT DRIVE SHAFT. STICKING WITH TEREAFLEX AND THEIR QUALITY I INSTALLED THEIR FRONT AND REAR BUMPERS AND ADDED THE MBRP BULL BAR TO THE FRONT. I DELETED THE REAR SPARE TIRE USING THE POISON SPYDER DELETE KIT, PAINTED WHITE ALONG WITH THE REAR TAILGATE HINGES. I SOLD THE HARD TOP AND INSTALLED THE BESTOP TREK TOP NX. THE FACTORY FENDERS WERE REMOVED AND REPLACED WITH THE BUSHWACKER FLAT FENDERS PAINTED WHITE TO MATCH. TO SET THIS WRANGLER APART FROM ALL THE OTHERS DRIVING DOWN THE STREET, I ORDERED A SET OF WELD RACING FORGED WHEELS MEASURING 20X14. NOTHING COMPLIMENTS A QUALITY WHEEL MORE THAN A BIG QUALITY TIRE SO I CHOSE THE 38X15.50X20 TOYO MUD TERRAIN. I ALSO HAVE A FULL SET OF RUGGED RIDGE TUBE DOORS THAT WILL BE APART OF THIS PACKAGE. LASTLY, I INSTALLED A POLISHED AXLE BACK EXHAUST KIT FROM MBRP. THE FREEDOM EDITION ALSO COMES WITH A CUSTOM LEATHER INTERIOR AND FLOOR MATS. ALL PARTS OF THIS JEEP ARE IN LIKE NEW CONDITION. IT HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT AND OBVIOUSLY RARELY DRIVEN. DUE TO THERE NOT BEING A SPARE TIRE THE TMPS LIGHT IS ON. THIS CAN BE REMOVED WITH A PROGRAMMER IF NEEDED. THE FACTORY GEARS REMAIN. I HAVE THE CENTER CAPS FOR THE WHEELS AS WELL.

2018 Jeep Wrangler to get 8-speed auto
Mon, Nov 24 2014Remember when the Jeep Wrangler had a three-speed automatic? That wasn't that long ago – as recent as the 2007 redesign – but Chrysler is keen to leave those days behind on the dusty trail. The current model ushered in a four-speed, then a five-speed, but the latest intel indicates that an eight-speed automatic is in the cards. According to a report filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission, and cited by Automotive News, Jeep plans on fitting its eight-speed automatic transmission to the next-generation Wrangler. Chrysler already uses the ZF-sourced slushbox on the Jeep Grand Cherokee, Ram 1500, Chrysler 300, and versions of the Dodge Challenger, Charger and Durango. But according to the SEC filing, the Auburn Hills automaker intends "to use this transmission in all of our rear-wheel-drive vehicles, except for heavy-duty versions of the Ram pick-up truck and the SRT Viper." AN says that Chrysler wanted to slot the transmission straight into the current Wrangler, but it wouldn't fit. Between the transmission and shift to aluminum construction, the next-generation Wrangler promises to deliver a significant reduction in fuel consumption. In correspondence with Autoblog, however, company spokesmen declined to comment on the eight-speed's suitability towards either the current Wrangler or the upcoming one.
FCA denies report it's pulling Chrysler brand from Japan
Mon, Jun 19 2017TOKYO - Fiat Chrysler Automobiles denied it had decided to pull the plug on the Chrysler brand in Japan, after local media reported it was planning to stop selling the US cars in the country as early as next year following years of poor sales. "Although FCA Japan has already announced its intention to concentrate its resources on the Jeep brand ahead, no decisions have been made regarding (the) Chrysler brand," the automaker said ion Monday. The Nikkei business daily reported that the European-US automaker, which also sells the Jeep, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, and Abarth brands in Japan, was close to deciding to throw in the towel on the Chrysler brand, which posted sales of less than 300 vehicles in 2016, having fallen steadily since around 2000 and are about a tenth of what they were a decade ago. FCA sells only one Chrysler model in Japan, the full-size 300s sedan, which is sold at the company's Jeep dealerships. FCA's Fiat brand, which includes smaller models, and its Jeep brand have been growing in the country. Last year they sold around 6,700 and 9,400 units, respectively, making them top 10-selling foreign branded vehicles in the Japanese market. However, foreign cars constitute a small portion of the total Japanese auto market, which is dominated by domestic brands. Last year, 295,000 foreign-branded new cars were sold in the country, roughly one-tenth of total new vehicle sales. Reporting by Naomi TajitsuRelated Video: This content is hosted by a third party. Final Toledo Jeep decision may have nothing to do with city's efforts
Mon, Apr 13 2015Toledo, OH is doing all that it can to keep production of the Jeep Wrangler in its boundaries, but the biggest issue facing the plant may be insurmountable, no matter how desperately the city wants to keep the Wrangler local. The Wrangler is built in a rather interesting manner at the Toledo Supplier Park: Fiat Chrysler only handles the very final assembly of each vehicle, while two other companies, Kuka, a German firm, and Hyundai-Mobis, a member of the sprawling Hyundai empire, produce the body and chassis, respectively. The vehicles are then transferred over to the FCA part of the park, where they're painted and completed. This was, as The Detroit News explains, a convenient arrangement back in 2006 when the supplier park opened. Chrysler, which was still owned by Daimler at the time, arranged for Kuka and Mobis to handle production, saving it a huge sum of money. Both suppliers own their own machinery and buildings and employ their own workers. Now that FCA is a relatively healthy entity, though, there's not a lot of need to be sharing profits with two other companies. "What [FCA boss Sergio Marchionne] would like is to have the advantages of high-capacity utilization, owning that capacity and taking advantage of that for himself versus having a supplier doing some of the things his competitors do internally," David Cole, chairman emeritus at the Ann Arbor, MI-based Center for Automotive Research, told The News. "It really adds another level of complexity to the situation." While Sergio Marchionne is a man that generally gets what he wants, it seems unlikely that either Mobis or Kuka would give up their role quietly. According to Jon Zapf, Mobis North America's chairperson for UAW Local 12, the company "definitely wants to maintain their part of this production process." According to The News, Jeep is likely to announce the location of next-generation Wrangler production in June. Expect to hear much more on this one in the coming months.
