*** 2014 JEEP WRANGLER 4,972 Miles *** Read First: I know this Jeep will have a lot of interest. I may choose not to answer some emails or questions as I'm only looking for a buyer that has the funds capable of purchasing this nearly flawless example. Please let me know of your intent or how serious you are. This is not an "eBay special" nor will it sell for "cheap". If you're hoping to get a lot off my asking price, you won't. i'm very easy to work with, though, and will help out with anything you need such as storing it for a longer period of time or working with your shipper. What: We purchased this Jeep brand new. The story: In 2013 Jeep came out with their "10th Anniversary Edition Rubicon" in this amazing new color called Anvil (sort of a steel blue/gray). By far the best looking color I've seen on the Wranglers and the only color I considered. It was only available in 2013 on the 10th Anniversary Rubicon. The Anniversary Edition was selling for $41,000... a lot more than I was willing to spend on a 3rd car for us. When Jeep announced Anvil would be available in 2014 on all Wranglers, my plans were set. I purchased a 2-door Sport with all the options I wanted and then began the perfect transformation into what everyone now refers to as my "10th Anniversary Rubicon Tribute". We've been "off road" twice. Both times down a utilities trail behind Walmart that is less than a 1/4 mile long. The kids liked it... :-) Original Options: Automatic Transmission 3.73 Gears Sirius Satellite Stereo All Weather Jeep Mats Factory Tinted Windows (legal) Tow Package Premium Soft Top (an option i would never buy a Wrangler without; far, far superior to the factory top. Thicker and much quieter. Similar to a sunbrella fabric) The usual stuff included: Air Conditioning, Cruise, Tilt, Air Bags, MPG Indicator, Trip, 4-wheel Drive, Manual Mode for the Shifter... Includes: Original Laminated Window Sticker Original Books/Manuals Both original keys Everything it came with new, plus... Additions done to make it what it is now: Brand New installed Jeep Rubicon "Red" Suspension 35" Hankook Dynapro MT Mud Tires (they won a tire test of 10 mud tires; very quite which is key) 18" XD Rockstar Wheels Stubby Bumper Conversion (front bumper done to reflect the 10th Anniversary) Red Jeep Tow Hooks front and rear (done to match the look of the 10th Anniversary) Rubicon 10th Anniversary Hood Graphics Rubicon 10th Anniversary Trail Rated Badge Easy Door On/Off Kit (takes about 30 seconds to take the door off and put it back on) Mopar/Jeep Interior Grab Handles both front and rear for easier access in and out of the Jeep Condition - Exterior: Excellent. As close to new as you'll find. Original paint, original panels, original VIN tags. Zero accidents, zero issues. The tires have ~2,500 miles with zero issue and no noticeable wear. I found a tiny scratch on the front bumper and an even smaller one somewhere on the front grill. Very hard to even see/find. That's all I can find anywhere on the exterior to differentiate it from new. Even the underside of the Jeep looks new as you can see in the photos. Condition - Interior: Excellent. As new. Zero issues that I can find. Non smoker, no pets, no food, no smells, no wear on the interior. Shipping: We're in Charlotte North Carolina. I will help you and your Shipper if you're out of state. Or feel free to fly in to Charlotte and drive it home. Payment: A non refundable Paypal deposit of $500 is due IMMEDIATELY after you win the auction. No exceptions, no excuses. Feedback: Note our near perfect, positive feedback for ~11 YEARS on eBay! |

2017 Jeep Cherokee vs. all-new Compass
Wed, Jul 12 2017If Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) can be described as on a roll, it's not by virtue of Fiat or Chrysler. The Fiat brand continues to struggle, with a restricted lineup and fragmented dealer network. The Chrysler brand is reduced to two models: an all-new Pacifica minivan and a 4-door sedan – the 300 – desperately in need of a revamp. And while Dodge is building interest via high-performance, its platforms are dated. The only real excitement is within the Ram and Jeep ranks, where global growth is fueled by cheap gas and a wealth of new intros. The newest Jeep is the Compass, and while classified as a compact, its size, interior room, and powertrain overlap nicely (or confusingly) with its midsize sibling, the Cherokee. And given their close proximity in price – the Trailhawk Compass starts in the high $20,000s while the Cherokee begins in the low $30,000s – they both could easily appear on a buyer's short list. Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk: This is an interesting crossover entry on many levels. You could begin with its polarizing sheetmetal. If, as a Jeep loyalist in 2014, you had expected the two-box profile of its wildly successful predecessor, you'd have missed the mark by an off-road mile. With a front-wheel-drive/all-wheel-drive platform housing a transversely mounted four or (optional) V6, you could store a small refrigerator in the new Cherokee's front overhang. And the previous Cherokee's slab sides and expansive greenhouse have morphed into aggressively sculpted sheetmetal and essentially no greenhouse. Yet we've grown to like it, but only as a jacked-up, big-wheeled Trailhawk. If considering the more street-oriented, front-wheel drive Cherokees, you'd do well to cross-shop. Inside, the Cherokee Trailhawk impresses. Its design and details hit above the competition, and the Cherokee won Ward's Autos 'best interior' at the time of its introduction. The Ward's team gave a shout-out to an interior "roomy, comfortable, and boldly styled with highly sculpted shapes and contrasting colors. Fold-flat rear seats add lots of utility and the Uconnect system is the best in the business." Our take is similar, and while in its fourth model year you could expect a refresh soon (make that very soon), there's little wrong with this introductory baseline. With roughly 25 cubic feet of space behind the second-row seat, you won't be blown away by the Cherokee's cargo capacity.
Poor headlights cause 40 cars to miss IIHS Top Safety Pick rating
Mon, Aug 6 2018Over the past few months, we've noticed a number of cars and SUVs that have come incredibly close to earning one of the IIHS's highest accolades, the Top Safety Pick rating. They have great crash test scores and solid automatic emergency braking and forward collision warning systems. What trips them up is headlights. That got us wondering, how many vehicles are there that are coming up short because they don't have headlights that meet the organization's criteria for an "Acceptable" or "Good" rating. This is a revision made after 2017, a year in which headlights weren't factored in for this specific award. This is also why why some vehicles, such as the Ford F-150, might have had the award last year, but have lost it for this year. We reached out to someone at IIHS to find out. He responded with the following car models. Depending on how you count, a whopping 40 models crash well enough to receive the rating, but don't get it because their headlights are either "Poor" or "Marginal." We say depending on how you count because the IIHS actual counts truck body styles differently, and the Infiniti Q70 is a special case. Apparently the version of the Q70 that has good headlights doesn't have adequate forward collision prevention technology. And the one that has good forward collision tech doesn't have good enough headlights. We've provided the entire list of vehicles below in alphabetical order. Interestingly, it seems the Volkswagen Group is having the most difficulty providing good headlights with its otherwise safe cars. It had the most models on the list at 9 split between Audi and Volkswagen. GM is next in line with 7 models. It is worth noting again that though these vehicles have subpar headlights and don't quite earn Top Safety Pick awards, that doesn't mean they're unsafe. They all score well enough in crash testing and forward collision prevention that they would get the coveted award if the lights were better.
Here are the latest renderings of the new JL Jeep Wrangler
Thu, Sep 21 2017Our friends at JL Wrangler Forums have been very kind to us. While we've seen plenty of spy shots of the new Jeep Wrangler, until recently these renderings from JL Wrangler Forums provided our best look at the new model. Today, we have a new batch of the traditional short-wheelbase, two-door Wrangler. We just hope the full production model doesn't stray too far from this. The design, like every new Wrangler, is simply an adaptation of what came before it. These new renderings pull some new cues seen on the most recent set of Wrangler spy shots. The new model packs LED headlights, taillights and running lights. The Rubicon model looks to have fog lights embedded into the bumper. The vented Rubicon hood looks like it carries over. The Sport model is the entry level Wrangler. As such the renderings ditch some things like body-color fenders and roof and alloy wheels. The JL Wrangler has been in development for years, so expect to see the full production model sometime in the next few months. Related Video:
