I am looking to sell my 2010 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara. I am the owner of a used car dealership here in Michigan and I have been daily driving this Wrangler for about a year now. A little bit of back story; I bought this Jeep at auction with an engine fire last year (Carfax reports there was fire damage on 01/27/2013, which is why the truck has a rebuilt title) with the intention of doing the motor swap in the spring of 2014. The truck was COMPLETELY stock when I purchased it last year. There are 4 pictures of the truck from when I bought it that shows how it looked when I bought it and the fire damage. Originally I had the gas tank replaced, along with the engine wiring harness, and some top end parts of the motor that were damaged in the fire and I drove it for about 6 months with the original 3.8L V6. Also as soon as we had it running, instead of painting the stock hood, I ordered a 10th Anniversary hood from my local Chrysler dealership and had it painted.  At the time of purchase the truck had approximately 50,000 miles on it.

After the truck was running and driving and I had the replacement hood on, I did following modifications (not necessarily in this order):

- AEV Premium Front Bumper
- AEV JK Rear Bumper
- AEV JK Tire Carrier
- 2.5" TeraFlex Lift (shocks, springs, and brake relocation, not just a budget boost)
- IPF 901XSD Driving Lights (on from bumper)
- IPF 968 Series Driving Lights (with Rugged Ridge windshield brackets)
- IPF 8161 Backup Light
- (5) 18" Fuel Octane Wheels
- 35x12.5R18 Federal Mud Tires (less than 50% tread remaining, the spare is brand new)

- Replaced the Steering Wheel and Airbag for the 2011+ Style Wheel
- License Plate Relocation Bracket (to the middle of the 5th wheel)
- OEM Black Grill with Black "Jeep" Badge
- Rugged Ridge Gas Cap Cover
- Rugged Ridge Grab Handles
- Removed the Chrome Mirror Caps and Tail Light Guards

Following these modifications, in April of this year, I ordered the 6.1L Hemi Kit from AEV. By May of this year it was completed and ready to go! If you are not familiar with it, the AEV Kit includes but is not limited to, custom motor mounts, custom transmission mounts, a custom radiator, a full custom Flowmaster exhaust system, a new custom PCM and a complete wiring harness that comes from the same supplier that Chrysler uses. With this kit the truck runs and drives like it would if Chrysler would have put a Hemi in the Wrangler. All of the warning lights work as they should including the tire pressure light and none are illuminated at this time. I purchased a 6.1L Hemi that came out of a 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 with 48k miles on it. The 545RFE transmission that was required for the swap came out of a 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee also but with a 5.7L with 38k miles on it and I had it completely rebuilt but a local well known transmission shop with a bigger torque convertor and better internal parts than stock. A lot of the other parts that were required for the kit were also ordered from my local Chrysler dealership. After the swap was completed everything was programmed with AEV's Procal module including the correct tire size.

Since then I have put roughly 7,000 miles on the truck and I have loved every minute of it! Everywhere I go it turns heads and I'm always getting compliments on it. I am not sure about the previous owner but in the time I have had it, it has only served as my daily driver and I have NEVER taken it off-road or to the sand dunes before or after the swap. The only reason I am even selling it at this time is because my interest has shifted to another ongoing project and the money from this truck will help me complete that project. I am currently still daily driving it so the mileage will go up from the time of this listing. I regret that I didn't get to finish modding the truck the way I wanted to because the exterior and the powertrain are AMAZING but the interior I hadn't quite gotten around to completing.

The things I was planning on doing before I decided it was time to sell it are as follows. I purchased the winch mount from AEV for the front bumper but never got around to actually purchasing a winch and installing it. Also I wanted to replace the factory radio with a factory Navigation system. Last but not least I was going to order some custom Cardinal Red seats from Katzkin. Other than the things I listed everything I wanted to do to the truck I have already done.

The reserve price barely covers the parts and labor that went into this build. I do have the truck advertised locally and I reserve the right to end this auction early if I do sell it locally before this auction ends. As I stated in the beginning the truck was COMPLETELY stock when I purchased it and I have pictures and receipts for everything along the way. Feel free to shoot me a message on eBay if you'd like any additional information or you can call/text me at (586) 850-9224 and I will do my best to answer any and all questions you may have.

2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT

Jeep's Super 'Ute Is Fun Thrown In The Face Of Conventional Wisdom
Let's talk asses for a moment. What do they have to do with the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT, you ask?
Well, we're here to tell you that this SRT can haul some. Lots of them, as a matter of fact: Jeep has increased the towing capacity of its most powerful SUV to 7,200 pounds. Assuming the average donkey weighs about 400 pounds, the Grand Cherokee SRT can haul ass to the tune of 18 burros, give or take a covered trailer or so, which is significantly more than it could in previous years. In 2013, the machine could manage 5,000 pounds, while the first generation was rated at just 3,500. The increase is mostly attributable to a new eight-speed automatic transmission and beefier rear axle, and it's a welcome update for those who'd like to use their SUV as, well, an SUV with an emphasis on utility.

What's really going on with the 2014 Jeep Cherokee's transmission issues?

Fri, 27 Sep 2013

On September 23, Automotive News reported that Chrysler had idled the second shift workers it hired just five weeks prior at its Toledo Assembly Complex to build the 2014 Jeep Cherokee. At the time, Chrysler said it had "built the critical number of vehicles we need to stock dealerships once containment is released" and did not want "to put additional strain on our logistics partners ... upon release." That reasoning was not only unusual, it didn't seem to make sense.
It appears the center of the nine-speed issue is software, not hardware.
That same day, the Detroit News ran a piece claiming workers at the Toledo factory said the halt was due to issues with the Cherokee's transmission. It put the number of already-built Cherokees needing fixes at 1,000 and said that some of the workers not laid off had been instructed "to take the Jeep on long test-drives." That made more sense. Three days later, on September 26, Automotive News reported that the 500 workers laid off had been reinstated, with engineers "speeding repairs on the SUV's powertrain software." The AN piece didn't put a number on how many units are being fixed, but it did say that 12,000 have been built and are awaiting delivery to dealers. The best it could say about when dealers will get them, however, is that "progress on a fix is being made. It's unclear when shipments to dealers will start."

Jeep Cherokee Trail Carver is a more rugged Trailhawk

Wed, 06 Nov 2013

We briefly mentioned the Jeep Cherokee Trail Carver that was heading to SEMA last week when discussing the Mopar lineup set to be shown in Las Vegas. At the time, though, we weren't able to dive too deeply into details. But with SEMA in full swing, we were able to sneak over and grab some snaps of one of the first modified Cherokees we've seen. The Cherokee is, after all, kind of an unknown quantity in the modification department, being so new and featuring such a polarizing design. We were quite interested to see what Mopar could come up with.
Starting with the Trailhawk 4x4 and its 3.2-liter V6, the engine is fitted with a Mopar cold-air intake and a new exhaust, although it's not clear what sort of power boost has resulted. We'll admit, we were hoping Jeep and Mopar would get a bit more aggressive with the Cherokee's suspension (has anyone thrown a few-inch lift on the new Jeep yet?), but there's no mention of upgrades beyond the knobby, off-road tires. Those should do some good when the going gets rough, while rock rails are there to protect the Auburn Pearl paint on the body.
Speaking of that paint, it's complemented by an interesting graphics package in contrasting black and Crush Orange. The cabin sports Katzkin Amaretto leather seats, along with tech-friendly items like a wireless charging system for cellphones and wireless internet.
