2019 Jeep Renegade spied out in the cold
Thu, Feb 8 2018The upcoming facelifted Jeep Renegade has been caught again in winter testing wearing only light camo. (Won't it get cold?) Photographed somewhere in Northern Scandinavia where it's currently very chilly, the renewed Renegade shows off a redesigned front bumper, which features a new shape for the lower air intake, and the inward repositioning of the fog lights, cleaning up the front fascia. The rear end of the Renegade wears matching swirly camo, but there's not much to analyze about it: Even the X-shape of the blocky taillights will be retained by the looks of it. These spy shots also provide a look inside, where the dashboard screen has noticeably grown in size, and the lower portion of the dash with its HVAC and audio controls has been redesigned. The refresh of the Renegade is expected to debut sometime this year, making it a 2019 model. The current iteration of the Fiat-related Renegade was first unveiled at Geneva four years ago, so it's certainly due for a 2019 facelift. No rumors of powertrain changes have yet been heard. Watch this 840-hp Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 walk away from GT-Rs and M3s
Thu, Dec 11 2014This last-generation Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 does things that SUVs just shouldn't be able to do, like win drag races against tuned Nissan GT-R and BMW M3 coupes. Granted, the owner isn't coming into this fight with a stock Jeep – far from it. In addition to twin turbos whistling away, he says the engine is a 449-cubic-inch V8, which is nearly 7.4 liters of displacement. As it runs here, the driver claims that the turbos are pumping out around 14 psi of boost to give an estimated 840 horsepower. What's more, he further maintains the powertrain could reach around 1,200 hp with things fully cranked up. Even somewhat dialed back, this Jeep is ready to take on a breadth of formidable challengers, including a couple of Chevrolet Corvette models and a Lamborghini Aventador. Check out the video to see how this menacing Grand Cherokee fares in a day at the races.
FCA reportedly joins the crowd skipping this year's Paris Motor Show
Thu, Jun 14 2018It's likely FCA vehicles will not be seen at the Paris Motor Show this year. Automotive News is reporting that Fiats, Alfa Romeos, Jeeps and Abarths will not be a part at the show, based on information circulating in the French media. There's a possibility that Maseratis will be displayed at a special section dedicated to upscale cars, but Maserati too will not have a show stand of its own. Ferrari will have a stand, but as it happens, the supercar maker has been a standalone brand since 2015. Skipping the Paris show follows FCA's decision not to take part in the Frankfurt show last year, and the two shows alternate as the biggest autumnal automotive show in Europe. Volkswagen will also not attend the event, and neither will Ford, Nissan or Infiniti. This has become a problem for car shows worldwide, including Detroit's North American International Auto Show. FCA has not released a formal statement about the matter, but a FCA spokesman, quoted by the French magazine L'Argus, reportedly said that the sales and publicity brought in by the show stand would not justify the costs of attending. The news mirrors Volvo's newly announced plan to not take part at the next Geneva Motor Show, but to arrange "bespoke activities" to introduce its cars instead. Related Video:
