Ready for Summer! 2005 Jeep Wrangler TJ Rocky Mountain Edition.
This is a 4.0L I6 with a six-speed manual gearbox, a rarity in Jeep Wranglers. Rocky Mountain edition with the upgraded Dana 44 rear axle, wider than stock painted fender flares, very comfortable upgraded seats and silver interior trim. A/C blows cold and CD player has the factory subwoofer in the center console with the overhead sound bar. 132,000 miles on the Jeep and it rides on 33"-12.5x15 Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tires with black Cragar D-window wheels. Tires and wheels have less than 1,500 miles on them and the spare is a proper match. New bumpers with integrated rear tire carrier have been added. In the last 6 months it's been updated and upgraded with the following: • New Smittybilt soft top with tinted rear windows and the zippers work perfectly • BDS 2" lift coil springs, front and rear with BDS shocks • Rubicon Express extended sway bar with quick disconnects • New windshield (and wipers) • New front and rear driveshaft u-joints including front double cardan • New ball joints • New rear control arm bushings • Smittybilt SRC Series front bumper with winch mount • Smittybilt SRC Series rear bumper with 5,000lb trailer 2"receiver and D-rings • Smittybilt 8,000lb. winch • Twin KC Daylighters which have been powder coated black to match the Jeep This Jeep has been great fun to enjoy with my family. It is extremely capable in the hills, snow, pasture or city. Steering, clutch, and transmission are all tight and make this a pleasure to drive. |

Jeep Twitter account hacked, bad language, poor grammar and some hilarity ensue
Tue, 19 Feb 2013Just a day after Burger King's Twitter account was compromised by "unauthorized users," Jeep's social media feed has been similarly hacked. Both instances of digital incursion share some similarities - the BK hackers changed the company's logo for McDonald's familiar golden arches, saying a sale had occurred, while the Jeep miscreants have replaced Jeep's branding with that of General Motors property Cadillac.
The resulting tweets from the damaged Jeep account have been a pretty brutal, to put it bluntly. Most of the content coming from the hacked account is unpublishable here, using language that is peppered with racial epithets, and poorly worded "shout outs."
In addition to the defamatory tweets themselves, the hackers have significantly altered the layout of the page. Jeep's header image now features a picture of the Cadillac ATS to go along with the Wreath and Crest, some language calling out that car as winning the 2013 North American Car of the Year award, and this gem: "The official Twitter handle for the Jeep(R) - Just Empty Every Pocket, Sold To Cadillac =[" Also, perhaps in an ode to yesterday's Burger King heist, the background image for the page now features a McDonald's-themed donk. The devil's in the details, we guess.
Watch the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Hellcat blast off
Thu, Jan 21 2016It's all but official. Jeep will produce a Hellcat version of the Grand Cherokee with crazy horsepower. We mean crazy. Today, our spy shooters have captured video footage of this demonic creation. It's pretty short, but you can see a dark Grand Cherokee launch with vigor and then brake hard to a halt. We think we detect the whine of a supercharger amid the commotion. Jeep boss Mike Manley has said on video that the JGC Hellcat will arrive before the end of next year. Specs aren't known, but it seems likely that the Jeep Hellcat will share the blown 6.2-liter V8 used in the Charger and Challenger Hellcats. We've also heard rumors the Trackhawk name could be used for this vehicle. In those applications, the beastly Hemi pumps out 707 manic horsepower. Really, why wouldn't you do this? Jeep sales surged 22 percent around the world last year to 1.2 million, the brand's best year ever. Clearly, Jeep decided it was time to add an extreme performance vehicle. Jeep already sells an SRT model that pumps out 475 hp, so adding a top-end Hellcat seems logical. And a Hell of a lot of fun. Related Video:
From Maseratis to rental cars | Autoblog Podcast #511
Fri, Apr 7 2017On this week's podcast, Mike Austin and David Gluckman are in a huddle room (again), because the studio was already taken (again). We talk about the all-wheel-drive Dodge Challenger GT (again), as well as the Jeep Wrangler, Maserati Levante, Miata RF (again), and then David waxes poetic on mediocre rental cars (or similar). The episode wraps up with the traditional doling out of Spend My Money buying advice, with some input from an S2000 owner on advice discussed last time. The rundown is below. Remember, if you have a car-related question you'd like us to answer or you want buying advice of your very own, send a message or a voice memo to podcast at autoblog dot com. (If you record audio of a question with your phone and get it to us, you could hear your very own voice on the podcast. Neat, right?) And if you have other questions or comments, please send those too.
