You are not goint to get a better low mileage jeep for the money. I spared no expense - the suspension / lift kit is long arm and all materials sourced are well respected high end industry names and were professionally installed. Adult owned and maintained. Jeep is very clean in/ out and the body is in great shape - turns heads. Jeep is very comfortable and handles great on the road for a daily driver and is also ready for serious off road action and/ or to even take it to the next extreme level.
The Kelly Blue Book value for the jeep (condition and with low miles) is worth $18,000-$20,000 for stock without any of the upgrades. I've put more than $16,000 in upgrades not including any labor paid for the work (professionally installed) and most of the upgrades and parts were all done recently / new. The two pictures of the Jeep on the driveway are before the Clayton Long Arm System and new suspension were installed. I just installed (March 2014) brand new Tom Woods front driveshaft, new tranny mounts, and had Jeep reset engine cranskshaft sensor. 2005 Sport Jeep Wrangler - Only 42,000 miles - No rust and mostly garage kept - 6 speed manual upgraded transmission - 6cyl 4.0 Engine - Dana 30 Front and Dana 44 Rear axles (3.73 gears) - Jeep comes with Hard TOP and soft top in addition to Spider Web sun shade. The soft top has small tear in front on driver side; however not noticeable and does not leak. Most but not all of the details installed on Jeep: BODY: -Upgraded Rock Hard Extreme Duty front steel bumper - WARN XD9000i Winch with steel cable and remote - Full Genright package: Aluminum G3 Front and Rear 4" Fenders, Genright Steel rocker guards with side rail, rear Genright Aluminum corner guards. 2019 Jeep Renegade teased with taillight photo
Mon, Jun 4 2018We've seen a number of 2019 Jeep Renegade prototypes running around lately, and now we know when we'll finally see all the ways the little crossover SUV has been updated: June 6. It will make its debut at the Turin Motor Show. Before then, Jeep did reveal a couple of details, including the above shot of the new taillight design. Though the taillight is very similar to the current version, particularly in how it's still square with a distinct "X" motif in center, it has a few differences. The thick black surround of the current model is gone entirely. It makes way for dark-tinted red plastic to wrap all the way around, and it has indentations that echo the X in the center. That center X isn't all a reverse light anymore. It's now part of the taillight's internal design. Only a small white square in the middle is now for the reverse light. Aside from small styling changes on the lights, Jeep also announced powertrains for the European version of the Renegade. It will be available with at least three gasoline engine options. There will be a roughly 120-horsepower 1.0-liter three-cylinder, and two versions of a 1.3-liter four-cylinder making 150 horsepower or 180. Jeep didn't mention anything about a diesel or a hybrid, the latter of which we expect based on previous spy shots. In the U.S., the Renegade is available either with a 160-horsepower turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder or a 184-horsepower 2.4-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder. We would assume at least the 1.3-liter engine will make it to the U.S., considering its similar power output to current numbers. Related Video:
From Maseratis to rental cars | Autoblog Podcast #511
Fri, Apr 7 2017On this week's podcast, Mike Austin and David Gluckman are in a huddle room (again), because the studio was already taken (again). We talk about the all-wheel-drive Dodge Challenger GT (again), as well as the Jeep Wrangler, Maserati Levante, Miata RF (again), and then David waxes poetic on mediocre rental cars (or similar). The episode wraps up with the traditional doling out of Spend My Money buying advice, with some input from an S2000 owner on advice discussed last time. The rundown is below. Remember, if you have a car-related question you'd like us to answer or you want buying advice of your very own, send a message or a voice memo to podcast at autoblog dot com. (If you record audio of a question with your phone and get it to us, you could hear your very own voice on the podcast. Neat, right?) And if you have other questions or comments, please send those too. Jeep reveals annual Moab Easter Jeep Safari concepts
Wed, 20 Mar 2013Jeep has unveiled its annual spate of concepts before the Easter Jeep Safari. Those start with the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk Concept (below left), complete with the company's EcoDiesel V6 engine. Designers threw in a set of 35-inch Mickey Thompson tires wrapped around 17-inch Rubicon wheels, and a set of custom fender flares help keep all that rubber under wraps.
Meanwhile, the Wrangler Mopar Recon (below right) packs a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 good for 470 horsepower. All that grunt gets to the ground via a five-speed automatic transmission and a set of a Dana 60 axles frond and rear with 4.10 gears. The Recon also makes use of a 4.5-inch prototype long-arm kit and a set of prototype eight-lug bead lock wheels.
The Wrangler Stitch (below left) builds on the momentum of the Wrangler Pork Chop Concept. Engineers once again set out to strike as much weight as possible from the vehicle, and actually managed to trim the curb weight down to 3,000 pounds. That effort has given the machine the same power to weight ratio as the Grand Cherokee SRT8. Plenty of carbon fiber, door deletes and a chrome moly roll cage all help trim those pounds, and a set of DanyTrac Pro Rock 44 axles with 4.88 gears and ARB lockers front and rear let this machine scramble over whatever is in its path.
