2002 Jeep Tj Sport, 4.0l, Many Aftermarket Parts, Very Good Condition on 2040-cars
Port Jefferson Station, New York, United States

I am selling a 2002 Jeep TJ
Sport registered as a 1997 because the tub was replaced due to damage. I will be providing two titles with
the Jeep; one is the 2002 salvage paperwork and previous owner’s title as well
as the clean 1997 title. You can bring the Jeep to be inspected by DMV and
obtain a salvage title for a 2002, but I have found no reason to do this as it
costs 200.00 and since it is registered as a 1997 you can obtain collectible
car insurance and pay next to nothing for full coverage. This Jeep has a 4" lift,
33" tires, 2 year old soft top, frame and windows, full doors
with new surrounds, Added Smittybilt front and rear bumpers as well as tube
fenders and rock slider armor with bars. Replaced windshield with new one and I
installed a high powered Kenwood deck, Phoenix Gold amp, Boston Acoustics front
speakers and JL Audio rear speakers along with an Infinity 10” passive radiator
and subwoofer. Many mechanical parts have also been
replaced; all brakes were done about 4000 or 5000 miles ago with new rotors and
drums, I installed a new starter and battery, aftermarket cold air intake
and new ECU computer. Replaced transfer case with a professionally rebuilt case
and had a professional also install a new Luke Systems clutch (Kevlar infused),
pressure plate, slave cylinder and throw out bearing ~1 year ago. I also had he
rear seals and bearings replaced and added new performance fluids to the in the
transmission and both axles. The tires are in great shape and one is actually
new due to sidewall gash. This truck runs great and has the sought after,
ultra-reliable 4.0L with ~87K miles. I have taken this Jeep on sand, snow
and trails and never had issues, it truly drives through almost anything. I am
looking to obtain a larger 4X4 because I had another child a few months
back and we all can no longer fit my entire family in the Jeep. Purchase terms are as follows: Buyer responsible for ALL shipping costs, 10%
Paypal non-refundable deposit required within 24 hours of auction close. The
remainder of funds will need to be wire transferred within 7 days of close. Upon
successful wire transfer, transportation can be arranged for the Jeep, but the
title will be sent certified mail to ensure it makes it to you the buyer. No
exceptions, sorry. If you are local, a test drive can
be arranged, please email me to discuss. This vehicle will also be for sale
locally so I reserve the right to close the auction early. If you have less than 10 Feedbacks
or 97% or lower positive rating, please email me prior to bidding. I reserve
the ability to refuse any bids for any reason. Bid with confidence, I have never received a negative feedback! Happy Bidding!!

Hendrick wants to put Jeep Wranglers back on the battlefield
Mon, Jan 25 2016The Jeep Wrangler could be headed back to the battlefield. According to reports, negotiations are currently under way with the US Army to adapt the iconical American off-roader for military use. The Wranglers would serve as inexpensive, lightweight, unarmored vehicles that could be more easily airlifted into remote locations than costlier, heavier, and bulkier options. The proposal is not being fielded by the Jeep brand itself or its parent company Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, but by Hendrick Dynamics. The Charlotte-based offshoot of NASCAR racing team Hendrick Motorsports calls its modified Wrangler the Hendrick Commando. Instead of the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 found in most US-market Wranglers, the Commando version employs the 2.8-liter diesel four built by VM Motori, modified to run on any type of diesel fuel or on JP-8 jet fuel to maximize its deployment versatility and comply with the Army's Single Fuel mandate of 2012. It would also support a variety of modular attachments for specific jobs, ranging from machine gun mounts and counter-mine rakes to radar arrays and advanced communications equipment. Hendrick says the Commando could also be deployed by helicopter or in cargo planes. And because it's based on a civilian platform, the Commando would also benefit from the latest advancements introduced by its manufacturer, the parts and service network already in place, and the thorough testing that's already gone into developing the Wrangler for civilian use. Hendrick has reportedly built 14 prototypes to date, including the two-door Commando 2 (based on the standard Wrangler), the four-door Commando 4 (based on the Wrangler Unlimited), and even a pickup conversion called the Commando S. It is not, however, the only company adapting Jeep Wranglers for military application. Israel-based Automotive Industries Ltd has been producing successive versions of the Wrangler-based Storm for use by the Israel Defense Forces and other militaries overseas since 1990. If the US Army awards the contract for the Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) vehicle to Hendrick Dynamics, it would bring the iconic Jeep back to the battlefield where it got its start. The brand and its most prolific model trace their roots back to the Willys MB, launched in 1941 on contract from the US Army for deployment in World War II.
Jeep planning on a Grand Wagoneer Hellcat?
Thu, Jul 19 2018Twitter guy and Finder of Things Hidden Bozi Tatarevic scored another gem: an internal ZF document referencing a Jeep Grand Wagoneer Trackhawk. Dating from at least early 2017, the German auto supplier paperwork pairs what would be a 6.2-liter V8-powered three-row Jeep with ZF's 8HP95X transmission. The Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk uses the 8HP95 gearbox, a version of the 8HP90 transmission used in the Dodge Charger and Challenger Hellcats, but built for all-wheel-drive applications and with a choice of gear ratio sets. This doesn't mean we'll ever see a Grand Wagoneer Trackhawk, but it looks like Jeep's been thinking about it. Not only that, but the brand was thinking about it with the just-launched-for-2019 Hellcat engine. The ZF document lists 729 PS for the engine in the Jeep, or a hair shy of 718 horsepower — just one off the figure for the 2019 Charger and Challenger Hellcats. The listed production dates mean ZF planned for a build run of April 2017 to May 2017. The document also mentions the Rolls-Royce Cullinan with two sets of build dates: from January 2016 to February 2016, and from December 2017 to January 2018. That sounds like a run of prototypes, which could be how the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk got included in the paperwork. The document didn't reference any other Wagoneer versions. A Hellcat-powered Grand Wagoneer would make sense. The new luxo-Jeep will be built on a modified Ram platform at the Warren Truck Assembly Plant, and we know Ram's working on a Hellcat-bound Ram 1500 TRX. And the now-iconic engine in an SUV that hopes to become a new icon would be a treat for dealers who wonder if the Grand Wagoneer will arrive too late to succeed. Again, this doesn't mean we'll see anything of the kind. Chrysler also evaluated a 300 Hellcat, but nothing's come of it. And with the standard Wagoneer still several years away — the renovations at the Warren plant aren't due for completion until 2020 — any hi-po version could wait another year after launch, were such a thing to happen.
