http://www.offroadonly.com/ and I tossed it on the Facebook page as well. This is a 1 owner Jeep, spent the last 11 years as the show Jeep and test mule for OffRoadOnly. This Jeep has had Mobil 1 engine oil since appx 5000 miles. Everything on the Jeep works, A/C, Heat, Etc. The Jeep is not perfect, there is some wear and tear. Most things are shown in the pictures, a list of these imperfections are as follows; Hail dent (dent's, qty 2) above the glass on the windshield One or two spots on the hood where the paint/bodywork cracked from hail, but wasn't damaged enough to warrant repair. Passenger side door has made contact with a rock near the top edge of the door. Passenger side rock rail has a couple of scars/dents from a rock (same that got the door above) The front fenders have both suffered some twists and tweaks from run ins with trees, there is some chipped paint and some areas that have been touched up with body color paint from these tweaks. Left front fender has a crack at dead center behind the flare, just barely noticeable above the flare. Driver seat, the left bolster has a crack in the vinyl and a spot of foam wear. It is covered in the picture by the Jeep seat covers. Center console has broken latch catch, cover does not lock. Top of windshield outside on passenger side has some scuffs on it. This Jeep runs and drives great. Not shown in pictures but included is a full TJ soft top and clear rear windows. It is a sail cloth factory top from later model TJ. The following is a list of parts that are installed and in operation on this Jeep. 1998 Tj sport 102k miles Factory half doors

Chrysler defies NHTSA, says it won't recall 2.7M Jeep Grand Cherokee, Liberty models
Wed, 05 Jun 2013Facing a possible recall totaling around 2.7 million of its most popular SUVs, Chrysler remains insistent that the 1993-2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee and 2002-2007 Jeep Liberty are safe vehicles. This comes on the heels of a recall request from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for these two models due to fuel tanks mounted behind the rear axle, which could possibly be ruptured during severe rear-end collisions, leading to an increased risk of fire. In response to the allegations, Chrysler says that it does not agree with NHTSA nor does it plan on recalling either vehicle.
Chrysler said both SUVs "met and exceeded" the requirements for fuel-system integrity, and cooperated fully with NHTSA since the investigation was opened in 2010. While 15 deaths and 46 injuries have been reported from fires caused by rear-end collisions on these models, Chrysler is claiming that the vast majority of incidents cited by NHTSA were "high-energy crashes," including one where a stopped Grand Cherokee was rear-ended by a tractor trailer going 65 miles per hour.
The automaker wraps up by saying "NHTSA seems to be holding Chrysler Group to a new standard for fuel tank integrity that does not exist now and did not exist when the Jeep vehicles were manufactured." Scroll down for Chrysler's official response to NHTSA, but we're pretty sure this isn't the last we've heard on this issue.
Chrysler investing $20M in Toledo plant to support 9-speed auto production
Sun, 28 Apr 2013In 2011, Chrysler announced a $72-million investment in its Toledo Machining Plant to modernize production of the eight- and nine-speed torque-converters for automatic transmissions made there. That upgrade work won't be finished until Q3 of this year, but Chrysler has already announced a further $19.6-million investment to increase production capacity for the nine-speeders.
The extra units will be necessary because the nine-speed transmission they'll be mated to is going into three popular models: it will debut on the 2014 Jeep Cherokee, then go into the Chrysler 200 and Dodge Dart. The company predicted that this year alone it would sell 200,000 units equipped with the nine-speed tranny, and it is spending some $374 million in addition to the investment in Toledo to upgrade production capacity for it.
The work attached to this new investment won't begin until Q3 of 2014, and it will be finished by the end of that year. There's a press release below with all the details.
Jurassic Park made a big impact on these Jeep drivers
Thu, 12 Jun 2014For a certain cohort of young folks, Jurassic Park is a touchstone film from their childhood. Not only did it play into practically every little boy's love of dinosaurs, the movie included some great action scenes and special effects that still hold up today. In its latest video, The Aficionauto takes a look the Jurassic Park Motor Pool, a California car club with over 40 fans who created replica vehicles from the iconic film.
The club is made up of an interesting cross-section of people. Many of them were Jeep Wrangler fans that already loved off-roading and Jurassic Park, and liked the idea of bringing them together. Like any close-knit club, it ends up being about community and people coming together to share their interests. It's quite a heartwarming video. Also, be sure to stay until the end because The Aficionauto teases a future Jurassic Park-themed vehicle. Scroll down to check out the motor pool.
