Up for auction is my 1997 Jeep wrangler with a 5.7L small block Chevy 350 and a 700r4 transmission. My goal for this jeep was to make it a simple vehicle to work on as well as visually appealing and I personally believe that I have succeeded. There are no complicated fuel systems needed to diagnose or intricate computer systems to troubleshoot. Anybody who knows Chevy motors would be able to work on this jeep with no trouble. This vehicle runs and drives well. It has great low end power with the ability to cruise 80 miles on the highway no problem. This Jeep has not been abused at all. For the most part it was garage kept except on sunny days when riding to the beach. The odometer on the jeep list 195930 but I did the swap at 182000 miles so the power train only has 14,000 miles on it. I am the second owner. As soon as I purchased the Jeep I parked it in my garage and began the conversion. The reason I am selling is because of the lack of use it gets in my possession.  The majority of the 4 years I’ve owned it, it just sits in the garage. So I would like to now use that space to build a caf? racer. Here’s a list of a few of the main specs/mods I have done:

If you would like a specific picture to be taken, message me and I will try to take it as soon as possible.

I understand that it may be a little intimidating to buy a vehicle so I am trying to make it as easy as possible so I have created a video for your viewing pleasure. These are not the best quality videos but it can give you something to judge off of before you come see the jeep.

To see a video of a test drive of this jeep click https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjhpkuhIHQo

Another video of the jeep driving at highway speeds https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cB9NDW0pIUY&feature=youtu.be

There aren’t many flaws at all on this jeep, but I want to be open with the jeep so the only ones I can find are a small scratch on the driver door. The Pulley kit comes with the AC Compressor and the Jeep’s OEM setup had A/C as well, I just haven’t had the work done to finish the setup. It really just needs an accumulator and a shop to hook up the hoses to the compressor. With the windows down or doors off, I never had a need for A/C but at least you know its not too much more work needed to get A/C if necessary. And the driver sun panel may need to be stitched up (seen in the pictures).

I have a clean title in hand. This jeep is road ready. Bring cash and your own license plate and drive it home if you want. Keep in mind that this is a FL jeep so I have not had to have any emissions tests. Buyer is responsible for researching their state's registration requirements. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask or come and see it for yourself.

I will need a non refundable $500 paypal deposit within 24 hours of auction ending and the rest of the payment within 7 days of auction ending.  I’ll accept cash or cashier checks for payment.

Jeep is listed locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early.

Any ebay members with less than 10 feedback MUST message me prior to bidding or their bid will be cancelled.

Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs and arrangement.

This vehicle is being sold as is, where is with no warranty, expressed written or implied.

*Buyers Inspection: I have done my best to disclose all information known about this Jeep for auction. I welcome a buyer’s inspection. If you plan to have an inspection, please make ?sure you inspect the vehicle prior to the auction ending. If you choose not to inspect the vehicle prior to purchase, you are responsible to use the photos provided and ask questions before purchase to ensure the Jeep meets your expectations upon pickup.  Inspection fees, if any, are Buyers responsibility.

Winning bidder has committed to buy, not look.

Thank you for looking and good luck bidding!

Sunday Drive: Spying an automotive future of performance

Sun, May 13 2018

I spy, with my little eye ... the future of the automotive world here in the United States. That pretty much sums up this week's Sunday Drive, in which we pull out the most popular stories on Autoblog of the previous week and try to draw some sort of conclusion as to what binds them all together. This week, it's spy shots, starting with one of the biggest and baddest muscle cars the world has ever seen: the Dodge Challenger Hellcat. The Hellish coupe gets a new hood for 2019 with dual scoops, but that's about the only meaningful change for the new model year. No matter. As long as it's packing 700-plus horsepower under those two hood scoops, all will be right with the world. Moving on, we take keep the performance angle but move it from the street to the dirt with a new version of the Chevy Colorado ZR2 that we think is probably called the Bison. We think it'll keep the high-tech suspension bits of the regular ZR2, but add expedition gear that may include a snorkel and a winch. Which, if true, is pretty dang cool. Keeping the truck theme is the 2019 GMC Sierra. There's nothing particularly noteworthy about the trim level in which the truck was spied, and that's what makes this specific example interesting. Base-model trucks almost never get much attention, but they sell in droves to workers who need an honest-to-goodness truck for work or play and don't care about bells, whistles, or massive chrome badges. And finally we have the 2018 Jeep Wrangler, which is on fire on the sales floor right now. But those are all V6-powered Wranglers flying off the showroom floor. Soon, a turbocharged four-cylinder engine option will become available, and now we know that it will return up to 23 miles per gallon in the city and 25 on the highway. That makes it the most fuel efficient Wrangler that Jeep has ever sold. As always, stay tuned to Autoblog this week for all the automotive news that's fit to publish. 2019 Dodge Challenger Hellcat with twin-scoop hood spied with no camouflage Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison caught testing 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 spied in base trim level 2018 Jeep Wrangler four-cylinder fuel economy revealed Spy Photos Chevrolet Dodge GMC Jeep Truck Coupe SUV Off-Road Vehicles Performance dodge challenger srt hellcat sunday drive

Driving the Panamera and Mike's Rant | Autoblog Podcast #487

Thu, Sep 8 2016

This week we cover some recent news like the upcoming Land Rover Discovery, updates to FCA's large car platform (including the Challenger), and talk about water injection. Then we go into what we've been driving - David just finished his time in the Porsche Panamera Turbo and Mike tried the GMC Acadia. And then Mike (who is still uncomfortable writing in the third person) goes on a rant about why automakers shouldn't specify which cars are aimed at women. The rundown is below. Remember, if you have a car-related question you'd like us to answer or you want questionable buying advice, send a message or a voice memo to podcast at autoblog dot com. Build a Jeep Gladiator 392 next? The Hummer H3T Alpha blazed the trail

Tue, Nov 17 2020

The 2021 Wrangler Rubicon 392 will combine the go-anywhere capability of a Jeep's iconic off-roader with the grunt of a V8 for the first time in decades. As cool as that is, we can't help but think Jeep is missing out on a huge opportunity to pair that 470-horsepower, 6.4-liter Hemi V8 with the Wrangler's pickup cousin, the Jeep Gladiator, in the form of a Mojave 392.  Autoblog took part in a media Q&A session with Jeep ahead of the Rubicon 392's announcement in which the company's product higher-ups said that there are currently no official plans to build a 392 variant of the Gladiator pickup. But whether or not Jeep has plans, it certainly has precedent, and from our perspective, a market.  Rewind to 2008, better known as one of the worst possible years to introduce a gas-guzzling, V8-powered pickup truck. Enter the 2009 Hummer H3T Alpha, the first variant of Hummer's midsize truck/SUV hybrid to be offered with a 5.3-liter V8. The 300-horsepower small-block was an upgrade to the sturdy but relatively uninspiring 3.7-liter inline-5 that the H3 lineup had inherited from its midsize pickup platform mates.  As our Jeremy Korzeniewski noted in the Rubicon 392's introductory piece, an open-top Jeep has not been offered with an optional V8 for as long as the "Wrangler" nameplate has existed. The last Jeep 4x4 to do so was still a CJ, or civilian Jeep, and the 304 cubic-inch engine came from American Motors Corporation. Incidentally, this generation of the Wrangler is also the first to be offered in a pickup variant. Cue the beard-stroking.  Now, frankly, it's not even remotely fair to compare the H3T's powertrain offerings to the decade-newer Gladiator's, but the Hummer actually boasts a few advantages over Jeep's modern pickup. While most of the Jeep's off-road specs give it an edge, the Gladiator doesn't come close to the H3T's 30.1-degree departure angle, for instance. And in more practical terms, the stubbier H3T has other maneuverability advantages. The Gladiator has 3" of wheelbase and 5" of overall length on the H3T, and a 22.4-foot turning radius to show for it. The Hummer's? Just 18.5'.
