I never thought I would see the day that I would sell my 1994 YJ Wrangler but here she is. Ready to make someone's Holiday and New Year!!! One of the cleanest, adult owned, original/stock Wranglers you will find anywhere. Often complimented. Unmolested, never off road, pretty much stock and original. PLEASE ONLY SERIOUS BIDDERS. IF YOU HAVE ZERO FEEDBACK PLEASE CONTACT ME PRIOR TO BIDDING. I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CANCEL A BID. THANKS. FRAME & BODY The frame on this YJ is solid as new. Absolutely no rust. Excellent condition The body is straight and all original. Never in an accident. Absolutely no rust. Floor boards are all solid and original. A few small dings on the hood and a very minor dent on the front of the driver side fender as depicted. The Hard Top has a small hairline crack as depicted. The Half Doors are the originals. I run with Full Doors and Hard Top. Both sets included. PAINT Has the original Electric Blue paint from the Factory with the exception of the tailgate which is from another Jeep in a very similar color but not exact. The hood shows some fading of the clear coat as depicted. Normal signs of use (this is the original paint) marks, scratches, wear but you really have to look for these to see them. INTERIOR Installed a 4 piece molded vinyl floor and Corbeau Seats. Everything works, doors, gauges, air conditioning, lighter, etc. The Hard Top is not plugged into the harness. This YJ was originally had a Soft Top. I do not have the male plug for the Hard Top (Wiper & Dome Light). ELECTRICAL Everything works as it should. Turn signals, Head Lights, Tail Lights, Dash Lights, etc. Needs one of the tiny bulbs replaced behind the Tachometer. Factory Heater and Vents work great. WHEELS AND TIRES Prime 15x10 Polished Aluminum Wheels on BF Goodrich 31x10.5x15 All Terrains. Tires are practically New. Wheels look great and could be polished. Matching spare wheel with a used Michelin tire which has a plug but is still a great spare. ENGINE & TRANSMISSION 4 BANGER!!!! Fuel Injected 2.4 4 cylinder. Starts every time, runs great and really moves on the Highway (I cruise at around 80 MPH no problems). I had the tranny rebuilt 2 years ago. Still strong but sometimes I have to pump the clutch to get out of 5th gear. No abnormal sounds though. MISC. INFO The key locks on the Full Doors are originally from the Factory Half Doors. They could not be installed properly on the Full Doors. Ignition Key works on those locks and the one on the Tailgate as well. The Gas Tank Skid Plate does have a couple of small rust spots. No rear seat or rear seat belts. This YJ is a 2 seater. I removed them. All Glass on the Hard Top, Doors and Windshield are originals. PLEASE CONTACT ME WITH QUESTIONS. Jeep Comanche Moab Concept: Hell yeah!
Mon, Mar 28 2016The moment I saw the Jeep Renegade I knew it was a winner, at least in terms of styling. The Renegade's "face" is exactly what small 21st-century Jeeps should look like. It has loads of Jeep's visual heritage DNA – important! – that has been brought up-to-date in the best possible way. (Now if only they could graft that face on to the new-ish Cherokee...). Where the Renegade falls short is what's under the skin. Thanks to misguided marketing, it is saddled with a rather unremarkable USA-spec 2.4L four, undersized tires, so-so ground clearance, an iffy 9-speed automatic, and a questionable (available) low range. I don't mind the independent suspension; in fact I embrace it, as IFS/IRS is the future in terms of off-road suspension design. So, for me, the Renegade is a close-but-no-cigar vehicle, at least as it currently stands. This new Comanche, however, shows how the Renegade can evolve; both as a 4-door SUV, and in terms of how spin-off models can be developed. Big beefy tires, flared out fenders, and great ground clearance are the main ingredients that make this work visually. Still wish for a 3.6L V6 under the hood, but the 2.0L diesel isn't a bad alternative. Anyway, I think a Comanche pickup makes more sense than the predicted Wrangler-based pickup. Why? I'm not big on retro-vehicles in general. Rarely do they survive long term. Besides, the Comanche would be far more civilized and livable. I could see this Comanche pickup as a daily driver much more so than a Wrangler-based pickup. Yeah, I like and value creature comforts over ultimate off-road ability. I think most pickup buyers would agree. Finally, while there is a large devoted Wrangler following who would love a Wrangler-based pickup, I bet this Renegade-based Comanche would bring more new customers into the Jeep tent – especially over a much wider age demographic. FCA fibbed on sales according to internal report
Mon, Jul 25 2016Following last week's news that Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) is under investigation by the Department of Justice and Securities and Exchange Commission for allegedly fudging sales figures, a new report in Automotive News says an internal investigation at FCA uncovered misreported sales. According to the AN story, 5,000 to 6,000 vehicles from various FCA brands were reported sold by dealers, but no customers existed for those cars. FCA sales chief Reid Bigland has already put a stop to the practice. One potential reason for the practice was to maintain the company's month-to-month sales increase streak, currently at 75 months. In April, FCA added a lengthy disclaimer to its sales announcements: "FCA US reported vehicle sales represent sales of its vehicles to retail and fleet customers, as well as limited deliveries of vehicles to its officers, directors, employees and retirees. Sales from dealers to customers are reported to FCA US by dealers as sales are made on an ongoing basis through a new vehicle delivery reporting system that then compiles the reported data as of the end of each month. "Sales through dealers do not necessarily correspond to reported revenues, which are based on the sale and delivery of vehicles to the dealers. In certain limited circumstances where sales are made directly by FCA US, such sales are reported through its management reporting system." FCA did not provide comment to Automotive News.
