For Sale is a very nice 1988 Jeep Wrangler YJ with only 62,000 original miles.  6 Cylinder, 5 speed that runs and drives like new.  I got it from my neighbor about a year ago.  It has always been kept in the garage in the winter months.  He bought it in 1991 with 39,000 miles on it.  That's what I call a real survivor.  It would be hard to find a nicer Jeep in such original condition as this one.  To the best of my knowledge everything is original including the paint except for the Laredo sticker I put on the hood just for looks.  It has nice mags and very good 31-1050-15 BF Goodrich tires.  I do have the original white wheels and the little Jeep center caps that came new with the Jeep.  It has a good white soft top.  Very usable, but not perfect.  It has a factor tach and power steering also.  It also has a bikini top.  I will deliver it to your door in the US only at an agreed price, otherwise you are responsible for shipping.  The buy it now is $7900.  If you want to see the Jeep please call me at least a couple days before the end of the 10 day auction.  This Jeep is well above average condition so bid with confidence.  Please call or email for more pictures.  Thank you.

My phone number is 515-250-9293.

You will need to pay $500 within 48 hours of the end of the auction.

Balance paid in full within 7 days of the end of the auction or before the Jeep is picked up for delivery.

If you would like to see the Jeep I live across the street from the airport in Des Moines, IA  50321.

I have the right to end this auction at any time.  I have it For Sale locally.

Jeep Cherokee finally dealer-bound

Tue, 22 Oct 2013

We had our First Drive of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee last month, but it appears that prospective buyers won't have too much longer to finally get time behind the wheel of the new small Jeep.
Automotive News is reporting that after a two-month delay, Jeep dealers will finally start receiving their first shipments of the new Cherokee, in the next 10 days. A Chrysler spokesperson confirmed to Autoblog that the Cherokee is indeed on its way to Jeep dealers.
According to AN, about 23,000 Cherokees have been built since production commenced back in June, but potential powertrain issues forced Jeep to make adjustments to the Cherokee along the way. Automotive News says that in order to make sure there are no issues with the Cherokee before it reaches customers, it is testing each vehicle after it rolls off the assembly line at a rented test track near the vehicle's Toledo North Assembly Plant.

Jeep Cherokee won't get diesel until sales of oil-burning Grand Cherokee improve

Tue, 01 Jul 2014

Okay Jeep fans, you want more diesel options? Time to step up and prove it. The only way Jeep will offer a diesel powerplant in the Cherokee, according to brand head Mike Manley, is if sales of the Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel nearly double.
Currently, about eight percent of the Grand Cherokees sold feature the 3.0-liter, EcoDiesel V6. That's simply not enough to warrant the bringing an oil-burning Cherokee to the US market, despite the vehicle's presence in Europe, where it's sold with a 2.8-liter diesel V6.
"Cherokee is slightly different because of its weight and size. When I think about bringing Cherokee diesel here, I would like to see Grand Cherokee diesel get much higher than eight percent," Manley told Automotive News. "It would have to be in mid-double digits."

Jeep Wrangler likely to get aluminum body, will stay in Toledo

Mon, 27 Oct 2014

Perhaps more than any other vehicle currently for sale in the United States, the Jeep Wrangler is viewed by purist fans as a vehicle that simply must maintain the status quo. In this case, that means a body-on-frame design, solid axles, a relatively large engine sitting up front and a removable top. It's always been that way, and it always will be.
Maybe.
According to the most recent reports, the next-generation Jeep will continue to soldier forth with a full steel chassis underneath its stamped bodywork. The biggest change, reports Automotive News, will be that said panels will be hewn from aluminum instead of steel, a seismic shift of a transition not unlike what's happened with the new Ford F-150. Because it won't be a unibody, the SUV will likely continue to be assembled in Toledo, OH as it (almost) always has been - the latter has been a source of heartburn in recent weeks for the Northwestern city in the Buckeye State.
