Very Clean 1984 Grand Wagoneer 1754 Miles Per Year. No Reserve Low Miles 52k!!!! on 2040-cars
Chester, Virginia, United States
Today’s auction is for the not so normal Grand Wagoneer. This is the very first year of the Grand Wagoneer nameplate. This is a very well preserved truck and it shows just by looking at it. While I have seen a few 84 Wagoneers listed on eBay but none preserved quite as well as this one. Oh did I forget to tell you this is a 52640 original mile Grand Wagoneer; WOW that’s all that can be said. This Jeep is going to be sold NO reserve and will go to the high bidder. While Nada shows this truck to have a high retail value of 28k we are willing to take offers. The truck is 95 percent original other than the exhaust, ignition and a repaint, and it’s an absolutely stunning example. If you are looking for a nice Jeep we are your east coast source for quality Wagoneers.
The exterior of this truck is in immaculate condition. The brand new Cinnamon Metallic paint is very explosive in the right lighting. The 3M Di-Noc vinyl wood grain is new and the wood trim is an aftermarket replacement kit. It looks great and so few would know that this is an 84 model. The weather stripping and rubber moldings were all replaced about five years ago. When the truck was painted new gaskets were used at the handles and mirrors and roof rack. The wheels are the correct wheels and are in better than driver condition and appear as those of a 50k mile truck. The correct size whitewall tires have only a hundred miles or so of wear on them. There is absolutely no rust on this Jeep. It also has the factory hitch on it. The front end of this Jeep still retains the factory grill and Marchal 850 series fog lights. A truck like this one is a rare find and when you find one as nice as this one believe me they will be asking 30k plus. The interior of this one is the rarer of the two colors offered in 1984. This is the 5BL code, which is Nutmeg leather buckets. The seats as well as all of the carpets are the original items that came with the truck the day it rolled out of the Toledo plant. The drivers seat has only minor wear but no rips or tears. The carpets are still nice and stain free and standing tall like the ultra plush carpet did on these Jeeps. The Nutmeg rear cargo cover is still present and still retracts as it should. And Yes all the windows work as they should, even the back window works by key as well as dash switch. Now on to the mechanicals. We have changed all the fluids and filters and this truck is ready for a ride. The original motor with super low miles is still in place. The distributor has been converted to the Ford style cap and is run by a MSD 6A ignition box for much better reliability. The truck now has 2 1/2 inch exhaust to help the big 360 breath a lot better than it did when factory. So for the must add part. Please only bid if you plan on following through with your bid. That means ask your spouse, kids, parents, neighbors, and the best yet ask your boss at work before you bid not after. These auctions are very expensive and time consuming. I am a very easy seller to work with as far as storing the vehicle until you make arrangements to pick it up. There will be a 1000 dollar deposit due within 24 hours of auctions completion. The final payment needs to be made within 72 hours. If you have any questions feel free to ask. If you would like to view the truck just contact me. If you would like a Carfax report I will be happy to email you a copy. Just send me your email address so I can mail it to you. If you have less than 15 feedback please send me contact information before bidding. I will be posting pictures tomorrow when the weather permits me to pull in out of the garage. |

Here's why you shouldn't try to drift a Jeep Cherokee
Tue, Nov 25 2014This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. There are many reasons why an XJ-generation (or really any other) Jeep Cherokee doesn't make for a good drift machine. It's tall, it's four-wheel-drive... it's a Jeep, okay? But someone apparently forgot to tell that to this guy. Uploaded to LiveLeak, this video shows some poor schmuck who took his Cherokee to a (mostly) empty parking lot and tried to drift it. Needless to say, things didn't go quite as he planned, but they probably went exactly as you might have expected. Thankfully, nobody appears to have been hurt. Or at least, we assume so, since the guy apparently survived to put the video up online.
Jeep Wrangler likely to get aluminum body, will stay in Toledo
Mon, 27 Oct 2014Perhaps more than any other vehicle currently for sale in the United States, the Jeep Wrangler is viewed by purist fans as a vehicle that simply must maintain the status quo. In this case, that means a body-on-frame design, solid axles, a relatively large engine sitting up front and a removable top. It's always been that way, and it always will be.
Maybe.
According to the most recent reports, the next-generation Jeep will continue to soldier forth with a full steel chassis underneath its stamped bodywork. The biggest change, reports Automotive News, will be that said panels will be hewn from aluminum instead of steel, a seismic shift of a transition not unlike what's happened with the new Ford F-150. Because it won't be a unibody, the SUV will likely continue to be assembled in Toledo, OH as it (almost) always has been - the latter has been a source of heartburn in recent weeks for the Northwestern city in the Buckeye State.
FCA's shifter fiasco proves novel gear selectors are a bad idea
Tue, Feb 9 2016What's wrong with PRNDL? Why are automakers trying to overly complicate the simple task of selecting gears? If there's any lesson to learn from the recent news that NHTSA is investigating 853,000 Fiat Chrysler vehicles over its problematic gear selectors, it's that the trend of fancy shifters needs to stop. Now. Last year, NHTSA opened an investigation into Jeep Grand Cherokee models, and has now expanded this probe to include the 2012-14 Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger. The problem? The shifter – assembled by ZF – is confusing for many drivers. "Testing ... indicates that operation of the (electronic) shifter is not intuitive and provides poor tactile and visual feedback to the driver, increasing the potential for unintended gear selection," a NHTSA document states. More than 100 crashes and over a dozen injuries are linked to this problem, according to The Detroit Free Press. To us, the problem isn't just limited to FCA. These unnecessarily novel gear selectors are spreading like wildfire across the industry. Honda and Acura use a weird pushbutton setup. Lincolns have buttons on the dashboard. Jaguar's shifter electronically raises out of the center console. Mercedes uses a stalk with up-for-Reverse, down-for-Drive, push-for-Neutral arrangement. And what the hell is BMW thinking with its M cars? FCA has since abandoned the confusing shifters in question. The 300, Charger, and Grand Cherokee now use the rotary shift dial that's quickly proliferating across the company's brands. Simplistic gear selectors might not be sexy, but no one ever complained about not being able to find the right gear in a Hyundai Sonata. What's most interesting is that this NHTSA investigation could push FCA – and possibly other automakers – to redesign vehicle functions that otherwise operate as designed. Just because most people will never have a problem putting a Dodge Charger in Reverse doesn't mean there isn't a flaw with the design. But perhaps a more simplistic solution – good ol' PRNDL – would have prevented these issues from the start.
