1989 Jeep Grand Wagoneer 4-door Sport Utility Vehicle on 2040-cars
Big Piney, Wyoming, United States
|
Complete your mountain living experience with your very own 1989 Jeep Grand Wagoneer! Here is the vehicle you used to dream of owning! "Woody" look, 4WD, luxury feel. Wing windows (my personal favorite)! Carburetor (which could be changed out for a fuel injection system for improved gas mileage). Gets 11-14 mpg (in the mountains). Easily shifts into 4WD from INSIDE the car. Electric windows and front seats. Tilting steering wheel. Overhead holders for sunglasses and garage door opener. Built back when vehicles were made of metal instead of plastic. Back seat can be folded forward for more cargo space, or can easily be removed for an area that is plenty long enough for an adult to sleep in (over 6')! Includes roof rack, tow hitch, jack, jumper cables, and steering wheel cover. Comes with an extra front bumper, contact paper to re-do the "wood" on the exterior, and a few miscellaneous parts. Has a couple of dings where deer have run into the sides of the vehicle, which should pop out easily. Needs a paint job (so what color are you dreaming of?), and is missing some exterior door trim (see pics). Some damage to interior materials (due to age) when it was professionally detailed for this sale (see pics). Over the last few years I have added a new transmission, transmission mounts, exhaust system with headers, engine mounts, windshield, lifetime K&N air filter, performance headlamps (much better for seeing animals on the road at night!), and just replaced both the alternator and battery. RUNS GREAT!
Located near Big Piney, Wyoming (western Wyoming). Seller is willing to deliver up to 100 miles. Otherwise, Buyer is responsible to pick up or arrange for shipping. (Drive time is approximately 2 hours from Jackson Hole or 3.5 hours from Salt Lake City.) |

The Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is pretty much good to go
Fri, Apr 22 2016We've been stalking the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk for months, and now we're getting our best look yet at the devilishly powerful sport utility vehicle. From a distance, the JGC looks almost stately in black. Look closer and you see the SRT badges and the big brakes. Look past the wrappings and you see large air intakes in the lower fascia. All of this reinforces the Trackhawk's performance pedigree, which will be anchored with the 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi Hellcat V8. It's rated at 707 horsepower in the Charger and Challenger Hellcats. The Jeep will use four-wheel drive. These up-close images show off the Trackhawk's simple design. Like the Dodge Hellcats, Jeep appears to be letting the power and capability stand on their own. Previously, we've only seen the Trackhawk from a distance or in blurry video. The Trackhawk's arrival comes as Fiat Chrysler expands Jeep's global presence. The company is increasingly looking to its venerable off-road brand for sales volume, image building, and profits as it re-aligns its car business and looks for potential partners. The Trackhawk looks nearly production ready, and we expect it to go on sale in 2017. Also, don't confuse it with the Trailhawk, which is a trim level you can buy on the 2017 Grand Cherokee. Toledo mayor, Jeep champion Michael Collins dies from heart attack
Mon, Feb 9 2015The city of Toledo is mourning the loss of its mayor and the campaign to keep production of the Jeep Wrangler in the Ohio city has lost a champion after Michael Collins suffered a heart attack behind the wheel recently. Born, raised and educated in Toledo, Collins was a Marine Corps veteran and a city councilor. He was elected mayor in 2013 and assumed office on January 2, 2014, a little over a year ago. He was driving an SUV provided by the city in a snow storm on February 1 of this year when he suffered a heart attack and crashed into a utility pole. He remained in critical condition for days until he was taken off artificial life-support. During his relatively short term in office, Collins became an outspoken and energetic advocate of keeping the Jeep plant in Toledo, where it has been assembled for decades. The next-generation Wrangler is set to switch to aluminum construction, which could lead to moving its production to another location, but Collins (alongside Governor John Kasich and others) had worked hard to convince FCA US to keep it in town. Whether his efforts will prove successful remains to be seen, but our hearts go out to his friends, family and constituents. Michael is survived by his wife Sandy, three daughters and eight grandchildren. He was 70 years old.
Marchionne may stay with FCA until 2020
Mon, Aug 31 2015We might get to see Sergio Marchionne and his vast array of sweaters in the auto industry for even longer than expected. The FCA CEO suggested last year that he would retire from the automaker when its current five-year plan was complete in 2018. Now, he has tentatively extended that point out to at least 2020. "I can do this for another five years if you push me, right? Beyond that, I ain't gonna do it, and I don't want to," he said to Automotive News. That would give Marchionne a 16-year career at the top from joining Fiat in 2004 to possibly leaving FCA in 2020. Although, take the CEO's statement with a grain of salt because he has made multiple statements about the timing for his retirement. In 2012, Marchionne said he would only remain in charge until 2015, which is, well, now. Those five years might also go quite quickly because Marchionne is a busy guy with the Ferrari IPO, the attempted merger with General Motors, implementing FCA's five-year plan, and many other projects. He's already considering the next CEO, though. "My purpose in life is to find the Kuniskises of the world, the Manleys, the Biglands, the Palmers," Marchionne said to Automotive News, referencing the heads at Dodge, Jeep, FCA North America, and the company's chief financial officer, respectively. "I told them, 'One of you is going to do what I do one day. I don't know who that is, but one of you is going to do it.'"
