FOR SALE - 1988 JEEP GRAND WAGONEER 4X4 SPORT UTILITY. 6.0 LITER SIX CYLINDER, AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, POWER WINDOWS, POWER LOCKS, TILT STEERING, CRUISE CONTROL, DUAL POWER SEATS, ALLOY WHEELS AND MORE. THIS BEAUTIFUL EXAMPLE HAS ONLY 170K FOR MILES. INTERIOR IS SPOTLESS WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE HEADLINER MATERIAL WHICH HAS BEEN REMOVED. THIS IS A REAL EASY FIX, THE MATERIAL SELLS CHEAP AT MOST FABRIC STORES AND IS EASY TO INSTALL. THE BODY IS DAMAGE FREE, BUT HAS SURFACE RUST ON LOWER BODY PANELS. THE RUST IS NOT ALL OF THE WAY THROUGH, AND WOULD BE A RELATIVELY EASY FIX. PAINT IS DELAMINATED ON THE HOOD AND IN SPOTS ON THE TOPS OF THE DOORS. THIS RIG DEFINATELY DESERVES TO HAVE THESE AREAS ADDRESSED BECAUSE IT RIDES AND DRIVES EXCELLENT. ALL OF THE POWER OPTIONS WORK, AIR CONDITIONING BLOWS COOL, SO MAY NEED A RECHARGE. TIRES ARE HALF TREAD ALL THE WAY AROUND. HAS A HITCH AND WIRING FOR TOWING.
THIS VEHICLE HAS PART TIME 4X4 AND FULL TIME 4X4. I BELIEVE THEY CALL THIS SELECT SHIFT. IT ALSO HAS THE TWO WHEEL DRIVE OPTION. I KNOW OF NO MECHANICAL DIFFICULTIES, OTHER THAN THE REAR SHOCKS ARE A LITTLE SPONGY. THE SHOCKS WERE LISTED HERE ON EBAY FOR $28.00 FOR THE PAIR WITH FREE SHIPPING. ALL GAUGES WORK PROPERLY, OIL PRESSURE IS EXCELLENT, TEMP RUNS RIGHT ON. CRUISE CONTROL WORKS PROPERLY, AS DO THE POWER WINDOWS AND LOCKS AND POWER SEATS.
THESE OLDER JEEPS ARE GETTING REALLY TOUGH TO FIND, ESPECIALLY IN THIS CONDITION. THIS ONE WOULD CLEAN UP VERY WELL WITH VERY MINIMAL WORK.
I HAVE LISTED THIS RIG AS A NO RESERVE AUCTION, AND INTEND TO KEEP IT THAT WAY. LAST BIDDER WINS. I WILL NOT STOP THE AUCTION EARLY FOR ANY REASON. I WILL ANSWER ALL QUESTIONS PROMPTLY AND ACCURATELY AS POSSIBLE. I WILL ASSIST THE BUYER IN ANY WAY POSSIBLE INSOFAR AS ARRANGING SHIPPING, RIDES FROM THE AIRPORT OR WHATEVER.
I WILL REQUIRE A $500.00 DEPOSIT AT AUCTIONS END, AND WILL REQUIRE A FULL PAYMENT EITHER IN CASH OR BY WIRE TRANSFER WITHIN 5 BUSINESS DAYS. I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CANCEL ANY AND ALL BIDS BY O OR NO OR NEGATIVE FEEDBACK BIDDERS UNLESS YOU CONTACT ME FIRST. I HAVE CLEAN AND CLEAR TITLE IN HAND.
YOU MAY CONTACT ME BY EMAIL, OR BY CALLING 320-260-0502 THANKS, BOB

NHTSA still mulling crash tests for recalled Jeeps
Thu, 15 Aug 2013Well, no one should ever accuse the government of not giving things plenty of thought. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is still debating whether it will retest any of the 1.56 million 1992 to 1998 Grand Cherokees and 2002 to 2007 Libertys that were part of a recall regarding fires after rear-end collisions. And yes, this debate has been going on for over a month. In other news...
The recall dustup started in early June, when Chrysler took the unusual position of refusing a recall request from NHTSA regarding placement of the fuel tank on the effected vehicles. NHTSA said a collision could cause a fire, a position Chrysler took issue with. Extensive negotiations ensued, with Chrysler agreeing to fit certain Jeeps with trailer hitches, which it said would provide some protection to fuel tanks mounted behind the rear axle in the event of a collision.
Part of the issue rests with the amount of data that needs to be processed, according to The Detroit News. NHTSA administrator David Strickland said during a Washington Auto Press Association meeting, "There's a lot of data and Chrysler is being very cooperative in giving us more data." Until that information has been sorted, it looks like re-testing will still be up for debate.
2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee gets surprisingly comprehensive update, new diesel power
Mon, 14 Jan 2013Traditionally, automotive journalists can be heard muttering something to the effect of "Geeze, it's about time!" whenever a vehicle's midcycle refresh is revealed. As we routinely see and drive new models many months before the public even claps eyes on them in showrooms - and then go on to tweeze apart their minutia in our daily writings - perhaps some impatience is to be expected. With so much exposure to a given vehicle, it's fair to say we tire of most cars and trucks far more quickly than the average consumer.
The alterations are handsome, if not subtle touches from the "If It Ain't Broke" school of design.
Which is why we're pleased to say "Oh, is it time for that already?" when it comes to the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The current WK2 Grand Cherokee hit the market in 2011 and climbed its way into our hearts with its rugged good looks, go-anywhere capability and surprising refinement. We're not yet tired of its appearance or performance, but even so, we're very glad to see Chrysler giving its flagship Jeep some attention, including a much-anticipated diesel powertrain option and some other economy-minded measures.
Toledo gets proactive in fight to keep Jeep Wrangler
Wed, 08 Oct 2014Let's make this very plain - the city of Toledo, OH loves its Jeeps. It loves them so fervently that the very rumor of the Jeep Wrangler moving out of its traditional home prompted the city's mayor, D. Michael Collins, and Ohio Gov. John Kasich to hold a weekend conference call with Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne.
"The purpose of this call was for the mayor and governor to gain clarity on Mr. Marchionne's comments last week regarding the possibility of the next generation of Jeep Wrangler being built at a location other than the Toledo North Assembly Plant," a spokesman for the mayor's office told The Toledo Blade.
While no further commitments were made by any party, Collins and Kasich's statement was quite unequivocal about keeping Toledo's unwillingness to let the Wrangler go, saying "the city and its partners will again rise to the occasion to ensure that the new Wrangler is made in Toledo." According to the newspaper, the next step is for face-to-face meetings between officials from Ohio and FCA.
