Why am I selling? Bought it to tow an Airstream that I've since sold. I have two other JGW's, and want to buy more, so need to make room.

This Jeep spent its entire life in California, before I shipped it back to the Midwest to restore.

Body and Paint:   This original Jeep retains its original body and paint from the factory.  All of the panels are rust free because of its SoCal ownership history.  The paint is amazing for its age and still holds a very high shine and gloss.  There isn't any evidence of previous paint touch up anywhere on the vehicle. The vinyl and trim were replaced, I used 1" trim. The door jambs and sills even are in great condition are free of any wear marks.   The driver’s door jamb still retains the factory vehicle info decal with vin number and other vehicle information.

Trim and Chrome:  The exterior trim and chrome are all intact and original to the vehicle. All trim holds a nice high quality chrome shine and free of any pitting.

Engine and Transmission:   The engine is the original 360 V-8 that the Jeep was built with and holds good oil pressure and runs nice and cool. The engine compartment is all original with factory emission tag, data tag and factory markings still in place.   The transmission operates flawlessly and shifts nice and crisp as it should. The 4x4 switch operates properly as well as the 4x4 low.  This GW runs nice and smooth with a quiet ride.   The exhaust system is in great condition also and does not need any work. I installed a Holly fuel pump to overcome the chronic Jeeps have. I had all fluids (radiator, oil, transfer case, differential) replaced. I installed an heavy duty radiator and trailer hitch. Brakes were rebuilt last year.

Interior: The leather seats would pass for a vehicle with 80,000 miles. I put a new headliner in a year ago. The carpet is the original deep shag and is in great condition with a few small wear areas. The door panels do not have any marks on them and fit like they did day one.  The dash, gauges, steering wheel, horn button, door handles, wood trim accents and balance of the interior are all in great original condition and have never been altered in any way. Stereo is a Sony AM/FM with CD player. I do have the original radio in a box that the Jeep was delivered with and that will go to the next owner.

Glass and Mirrors:   From what I have observed the glass is all original.  There aren’t any chips or stars in the windshield.   The side glass has had a minor tint applied because of its southern ownership history and I believe that aided in preserving the interior from sun fade and heat.  The rear power glass window in the tailgate operates correctly from either the dash mounted button or key function. This Jeep has the power mirror option for both drivers side and passenger side and they operated smooth and quiet.

Wheels and Tires:   All of the wheels are original and are in very nice condition.  They have the correct center caps and lug nuts.   The tires are high quality Hankook tires have <15K on them.

Terms of Sale:   I am selling the Jeep “as is” because vehicles of this age are. If you have the opportunity to see and drive this GW before the auction period expires, then I invite you to do so to truly appreciate the originality and excellent condition of this vehicle. I have offered a buy it now option to end the auction early and buy the Jeep. I have compared my buy it now price with comparable GW’s in this condition and feel it is very well priced.

5 classic trucks and their polarizing modern revivals

Sun, Mar 3 2024

EVs are helping eliminate Detroit's gas-guzzling problem. Some revivals of gas-powered classics are getting the EV treatment.  But not every revived model looks exactly like its original counterpart. We're in a new era of hulking Detroit metal, and you can thank EVs. Americans can't get enough of their big, beefy trucks and SUVs. But for many years, some of the biggest gas guzzlers fell out of fashion as gas prices rose and emissions regulations tightened. But in the past few years, some of the most iconic American truck nameplates have been brought back to life with electric motors, like the GMC Hummer. In other cases, as with the Ford Bronco, improvements in engine technology and more interest in rugged adventure vehicles made a gas-powered revival possible. Even some revivals that started as gas-powered, like the Chevy Blazer and the Jeep Wagoneer, are now getting electrified spinoffs. (Even if they don't always look quite as sleek as their original inspiration.) Here are side-by-sides of five classic American trucks and their modern counterparts. The Jeep Wagoneer 1975 Jeep Wagoneer and 2024 Electric Jeep Wagoneer SStellantis After a long wait, Jeep released its revival of the classic Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer in 2020. Starting later this year, an electric version of the luxury Jeep SUV will join the Wagoneer lineup. The Chevrolet Blazer A 1973 Chevrolet Blazer and a 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EVGetty Images, General Motors The Chevrolet Blazer was first rebooted in 2019 as a sporty family SUV. The modern Blazer shares zero resemblance to its boxy, off-roading older sibling, but it has still managed to become one of Chevy's more popular SUVs in recent years. The Blazer EV came later, and was one of the first models GM built on its new Ultium battery platform. The Hummer A Hummer H2 and the 2023 Hummer EV pickup truckGetty Images, General Motors Once the poster child for Detroit's big, bad gas guzzlers, the Hummer got new life as an electric pickup truck in 2021. The Ford Bronco A 1971 Ford Bronco and a 2022 Ford BroncoFord Motor Co. After a rouge group of engineers and designers inside Ford spent years trying to breathe life back into the Blue Oval's boxy off-roader, the Ford Bronco was finally resurrected in 2020 amid a rise in popularity for rugged adventure vehicles. Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk undisguised with Hellcat power

Tue, Jul 5 2016

Superchargers make everything better. Mount one to the top of a 6.2L Hemi V8 and pack it under the hood of a Jeep Grand Cherokee and you have a recipe for a completely bonkers, wholly unnecessary, and totally sweet SUV. We've known for a while that the so-called Trackhawk, essentially a Hellcat Jeep, is on its way. We now have photos of a completely undisguised test vehicle on public Michigan roads trying to make its way to SRT headquarters. Jeep already makes an SRT version of the Grand Cherokee. That version only puts out a measly 475 hp and 470 pound-feet of torque from a 6.4L Hemi. After developing a couple of 707-hp Dodges, SRT felt that Jeep needed some of that Hellcat love too. In the photos, we can see that, aside from the front fascia, the Trackhawk will look fairly similar to the standard SRT Grand Cherokee. The front retains the requisite Jeep grille, though it's been narrowed a bit to make room for larger air intakes below. The Hellcat engine creates a lot of heat, so designers needed to make sure the beast has plenty of room to breathe. New LED fog lights have been integrated into lower air ducts. We still don't know many of the Trackhawk's finer details, like the exact price or release date. We do know that Jeep claims a 3.5-second 0-60 time, making it both the quickest-accelerating Hellcat-powered vehicle and one of the quickest-accelerating vehicles in the world. For comparison, BMW claims the X5 M will do 0-60 in 4 seconds flat. Related Video: Featured Gallery Grand Cherokee Trackhawk View 9 Photos Spy Photos Jeep SUV

Jeep Renegade Hell's Revenge is the Harley rider's Jeep

Fri, Jun 17 2016

Well, here's a thing. Yes, it's a Jeep Renegade. Yes, it has flames on it. And no, we aren't really sure how to feel about it. This is the Renegade Hell's Revenge. Presumably named after the Hell's Revenge Trail in Moab, this one-off baby Jeep is the product of Italian tuning house Garage Italia Customs and draws inspiration from the collected works of Harley-Davidson. It's not the first time a car company has attached the Milwaukee icon's badge to one of its vehicles – the company has a long history of partnering with Ford for special edition pickup trucks – but it's the first time we can recall the brand teaming with Jeep. The Hell's Revenge was created because of the 25th annual European H.O.G. Rally, a big Harley-Davidson festival being held in Portoroz, Slovenia this weekend. And since Europeans have a bizarre infatuation with Harleys, Jeep probably saw an excellent advertising opportunity and slotted the off-road brand in as the event's main sponsor. We have to admire the workmanship on this diesel-powered Renegade. Ignore the fact that there's a flame motif, and the actual paint job itself is absolutely lovely. According to FCA's official release, GIC used four layers of matte paint before applying fluorescent paint. The dashboard also gets a bright, exuberant flame motif, while the seats are a combination of Foglizzo Nappa leather and black denim. The functional changes are minor. BFGoodrich tires and a jacked-up suspension provide extra capability, and there are a pair of adorable LED spotlights ahead of the two A-pillars. It's an impressive effort. Really. But when you remember that the last Chrysler product to wear a flame motif was the PT Cruiser, we wonder if Jeep knew what kind of company its newest CUV would be in. Related Video:
