ALL ORIGINAL One Family Owned, Lifelong Arizona Jeep!
Here is an absolutely
drop dead gorgeous 1977 Jeep Wagoneer in fully original condition inside and
out. This Jeep was bought new on 5-21-77 by original owner Larry Wright Sr. at Allered Jeep in Cottonwood, AZ and has
remained here ever since. Mr. Wright owned his own service station, so you can see by the numerous oil change stickers, he always kept this Jeep in tip top condition. According to his son, Mr. Wright bought this Jeep to travel the Southwest with his wife in their later years, but after her sudden passing, the Jeep was rarely driven, but always maintained. This is one of the neatest Jeeps I have ever seen and
has been extremely well preserved by the dry desert climate and indoor covered storage its entire life. This Jeep was
meticulously maintained and protected by its original owners and always
pampered.
The Jeep is extremely hard to come by in this condition and miles. The mileage is documented
by the Arizona title as just under 18,000 original miles!! Don't miss your chance to own
one of the most correct and rust free early Wagoneers around...BID NOW!!
The following is a list of options as this Jeep is currently
equipped:
-Original RARE 401ci 8cyl Engine
-4 Speed Automatic Transmission
-Jeep QuadraTrac 4wd System
-All Original OEM Goodyear Tires
-Original 15" Jeep Wheels w/ Hubcaps
-Ice Cold Factory A/C
-Original Working Jeep Am Radio
The body on the Jeep is
totally solid and rust free. I have inspected the body and can not find a
single spot of rust or repair patches whatsoever. The Jeep has lived its life
in the dry Arizona climate and has always been well cared for. These Jeeps were
notorious for rust issues, but this Jeep has been inspected all over and is
totally solid. The paint on the car is all original in gorgeous Sand Tan and shined up very nice but shows a few blemishes here and there which
have been professionally color matched and airbrushed in. The rubber seals are
all in very nice shape and the jeep seals up perfect. All glass on the truck is
original even the windshield! The bumpers and all other chrome trim are in
excellent original condition and have been well preserved by the dry desert air
with no pitting or rust issues. The truck is still riding on the original, YES ORIGINAL, Good Year Suburbanite Polyglass whitewall all terrain tires. They are dated 1977 and show some minor dry cracking but go down the road good and have a lot of tread left!
The interior is in great shape all around and
is completely original. The seats have
been preserved in their beautiful and comfortable flannel type cloth. These seats literally had seat covers on them for their entire life, and will come with the Jeep. Headliner and
carpets are also original. All dials and controls function as they should and
are illuminated at night. The dashboard is in excellent shape with no
cracks. All windows work correctly and the power rear window functions from the
key switch on the back, as well as on the dash. Two cool things about this ALL ORIGINAL interior is the full set of original American Motors logo'd floor mats and the paper instruction card still wrapped around the drivers side sun visor!
Mechanically, this Wagoneer runs GREAT! The car
starts right up and shifts quite easily. The big optional 401ci engine has been fully
tuned up with oil change and runs like a top! The previous owner kept all maintenance up to date and stored properly, so needless to say this
thing is tight with no leaks. The transmission shifts perfectly as well. Every mechanical system on this Jeep was gone
through and given a clean bill of health. The engine compartment was fully
detailed to show condition. This Jeep is a first class example of what an all original OEM Wagoneer is!
The car will include original keys, original
books, and various other papers.
All in all, this is one of the cleanest and
most correct Wagoneers that I have had the privilege of being associated with.
It has been professionally maintained and truly loved by its previous
owners. This Jeep is a fantastic example and will be the envy of any true
Jeep lover! Any further questions please call Jon at 480-703-2337. The car is
located in Sunny Scottsdale, Arizona.

Which is the most entertaining Jeep Renegade you can get? While one might make an argument for the Trailhawk model and its accompanying off-road hardware and consequential go-anywhere ability, that car comes with one glaring flaw – its 2.4-liter engine and nine-speed automatic transmission just aren't very entertaining. Instead, I submit the turbocharged, 1.4-liter base engine and its accompanying six-speed manual, a position that was reinforced after a recent stint behind the wheel of a very basic Sport 4x4. Not only do you get a fair amount of the Trailhawk's off-road ability – the Selec-Terrain system and a 4WD Lock mode are standard, but you'll be without the 20:1 crawl ratio and Rock off-road mode – you'll also enjoy a more dynamically interesting powertrain. Read on to see why the force-induced Renegade might just be the way to go. Driving Notes My first date with the Renegade was on the mostly empty, winding roads of northern California. There, the 1.4-liter turbocharged inline-four with 160 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque felt fine – with no traffic and few stoplights along the drive route, it was easy to keep the engine on boil. But this engine isn't as enjoyable in day-to-day suburban traffic. Power arrives suddenly – peak torque comes between 2,500 and 4,000 rpm – and if you don't use it, you lose it. There's not much oomph in the higher end of the rev range. With such a peaky powerband, it's easy to get caught flat-footed if you're not paying attention. Thankfully the manual transmission makes it simple to stay engaged and in the correct gear. The stick-shift is enjoyable to use, with a firm clutch that's easy to modulate and shift action that isn't sloppy or vague. The 1.4-liter engine sounds good. Turn down the stereo, stomp on the throttle, and you'll be treated to a delicious turbo whistle and a smooth exhaust note. I've said it before and I'll say it again: I want Mopar to offer the Fiat 500 Abarth's exhaust on the Renegade. It'd be fun. If you do prefer the stereo, know that the Renegade's standard four-speaker unit is weak. Base models don't offer Bluetooth or satellite radio, but you can add both of those luxuries, two extra speakers, and a five-inch touchscreen for just $695. Not a bad bargain. The Koni frequency selective dampers do an excellent job of managing both small, frequent imperfections (like freeway expansion joints), and the bigger potholes that still haven't been fixed after the havoc of Detroit's winter.

Jeep CEO Mike Manley's brief for the new Wrangler is a simple one – don't mess it up. But in that pursuit of keeping things proper, the affable Englishman has revealed that the brand is trying to walk a fine line while bringing its most iconic model into the 21st century. That's most important on the car's exterior. Like other long-serving American vehicles, the Wrangler is defined by its image. But even with aerodynamics playing a bigger role on the JK's successor, Manley was adamant during a conversation with Automotive News that the boxiness will carry on. "You have to be very careful with the aero of Wrangler, because at the end of the day, it needs to be recognizable as a Wrangler," Manley told AN. "To some extent that restricts you on some of the aero that you can do." Spy photos show a more rakish windshield and fascia, both key moves to lessen the aerodynamic impact of the Jeep's traditionally brick-like design. "But with weight and a number of the changes that we've made, you're going to see that we've really pushed that vehicle forward in terms of its fuel economy." The context of that last sentence points to a weight savings, something Automotive News backs up. While the Wrangler won't go all-aluminum, its frame is going to be lighter and stronger, and it will use aluminum for certain "hang-on" body parts. But this push for weight savings won't extend to the Wrangler's intangibles. It'll still ride on a body-on-frame architecture and feature solid axles at both ends, for example. Combine Manley's comments and AN's reports with news that the Wrangler will use an eight-speed automatic and offer diesel and four-cylinder turbo power in its next generation, and it's clear Jeep is trying to make the biggest strides in decades without alienating its die-hard fans. If the photos below look familiar, it's because we saw them last week. Yes, the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk is real, and it's a welcome (and predictable) addition to the Jeep family. It boasts rugged good looks and plenty of capability, and debuts this week at the New York Auto Show. Standard Trailhawk equipment includes Jeep's Quadra-Drive II four-wheel-drive system, a revised air suspension (specifically for Trailhawk, we're told), skid plates, the black hood decal, and cute little red tow hooks. It's also got an ever-so-slightly different front fascia, taken right from the 2012 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk Moab concept. Buyers can choose from 18- or 20-inch wheels. Looking for something a bit more posh? Try the Summit, pictured below, with its 20-inch polished wheels, LED foglights, and full-wrap Laguna leather interior. It's loaded to the gills with every available Grand Cherokee option, and certainly sounds like one seriously nice SUV. View 15 Photos What's great is that both Trailhawk and Summit models can be had with three different engines. The standard powerplant is Chrysler's 295-horsepower, 3.6-liter V6, but the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 and 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 are also available. (We love the idea of a Trailhawk with the diesel, by the way.) Both models go on sale this fall. Read more about both in the press blast below.
