1975 Jeep Grand Cherokee S (like Wagoneer 2 Door) 4x4 360 V8 Automatic Yellow on 2040-cars
Portland, Oregon, United States
1975 Jeep Cherokee S 4X4 360 V8 Automatic Hello all
out there in eBay land and welcome to my auction. I found this little vintage ride and thought
I would see if anyone wants to live the dream and make a great classic out of a
good one. What I mean to say is that
this is a good start to what could be a great rig with some work. All the bones are there. It is very rust free.. There are just a few bubbles that I pictured
but the floors and everywhere else that usually rusts on these are good and
solid. The paint is
fairly new and shines well. It’s not a
million dollar job, but better than most and in the correct color too. There are no dents and everything fits
well. The grill is excellent as are the
bumpers. The wheels and hubcaps are all
nice and the whitewalls have lots of tread too.
The sun was bright when I took the photos, but the top is white and the
body is a pale yellow. The engine
is good. It starts easily with just a
puff of smoke. It is cold blooded
however and like to warm up for 3 or 4 minutes or it dies when driving. Could probably use a tune.. The carb has been rebuilt and the engine does
not leak anything. Once warm it pulls
strong and sounds great. The trans
shifts properly too. The interior
is weak. As you can tell the seats have
wear and holes in the material. The
carpet is good. It just really needs
some love. Also the windshield is cracked. The rear window is missing its handle but I put
a socket and it goes up and down. She is just
an old girl that has not been lifted and 4 wheeled all over hell and back. She is pretty original and could be fantastic
if someone has an eye for a little style.
My girlfriend wanted to do the interior in Pendleton wool.. I hope whoever gets it does something like
that with it. This Jeep
has a ton of vintage appeal and will surely be one to hold on to for future
appreciation. The miles stated reflect
what is on the odometer. I have no knowledge
of the actual miles this vehicle has traveled since new. I am selling
the Cherokee with a LOW RESERVE and I know the Jeep will sell the first go
around as long as we all play by these rules.

2015 Jeep Renegade leaks out ahead of Geneva debut
Mon, 03 Mar 2014Meet the Renegade - Jeep's new baby crossover that's set to debut at the Geneva Motor Show this week. The folks at Jalopnik got their hands on a small batch of photos of the new little cutie, showing what appears to be a Trailhawk (read: trail-rated) version, as well as a more civilian-spec Renegade, complete with a new removable roof system, reportedly called My Sky.
Details are slim, though in addition to the exterior images, one photo of the interior has also been leaked, showing what appears to be a small, yet functional (and nicely appointed) cabin. Early reports suggested that the new small Jeep would be based on the Fiat 500L platform, though Jalopnik rightly points out that the Renegade looks an awful lot like the Panda 4x4. Regardless, there's still likely some 500L bones under there, and we'll know more once the official details are revealed in the very near future.
Head over to Jalopnik for more shots of the cute little Renegade, and stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
2014 Jeep Patriot and Compass ditch CVT for six-speed auto
Mon, 07 Jan 2013It was reported in Automotive News a few months ago, but a new report on Allpar.com adds some details to news that the 2014 Jeep Compass and Patriot will get a six-speed automatic to replace the CVTs they currently use. According to a tip provided to Allpar, the 2014 models will begin production in March and be on sale sometime in the summer. The Jatco-sourced CVT in use until now - Jatco is owned by Nissan and Mitsubishi - has been often criticized, and many won't be sad to see it go.
The incoming six-speed automatic is said to be an all-wheel-drive cog-swapper that's the work of Hyundai and Magna and has been paired with the DynaMax AWD system used in the Hyundai ix35 and Kia Sportage. It won't be the only Chrysler product using a transmission with ties to Hyundai: the six-speed automatic in the Dodge Dart comes from Powertech, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hyundai. With the Patriot and Compass said to be driving down the trail for the last time this year, it will be a short run for the new tranny and the rumored addition of a backup camera and power rear liftgate on the Compass.
Jeep going bigger with new Grand Wagoneer, smaller with sub-Renegade?
Tue, 11 Mar 2014The headlines are still rolling in for the new Renegade that Jeep unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show last week, but already reports are surfacing, citing sources within the company, about what Chrysler's iconic off-road brand will do next.
Speaking with Auto Express (whose reports we tend to take with a grain of salt or two), Jeep chief Mike Manley suggested that two courses of action are currently under consideration at Auburn Hills to develop two very different new models - one smaller and one larger than anything Jeep currently makes.
One plan would be to make an SUV or crossover even smaller than the new Renegade, although it isn't immediately clear what platform it would take. The Renegade (pictured above in Trailhawk spec) will be built in Italy alongside Fiat's upcoming 500X, but uses a heavily modified platform. We figure the smaller model, if approved, could base itself on the new Fiat Panda Cross.
