We just welcome two little girls to our family, so we need to upsize to a van for the extra space. This car is very fun to drive and we had some great road trips in it. The 4WD is great here in the Northeast USA and works great in our heavy snow.

Last fall we put on a set of new highly-rated Firestone tires. It has a U-Haul tow hitch and aftermarket adapter for tow brake lights. Over $100 of aftermarket Sylvania Silverstar headlights, turn signals and brake lights were put in to give off the best, brightest lights at night. It also has a lifetime K&N Air Filter, so you never need to replace the air filter again.

There are some stains on the interior, but overall it's in good shape. The exterior is in great condition. We are the second owner, and it's a very clean car with no negative history.

This is a great 4x4 vehicle, and we will miss it. Hope someone else has as great of a time in this vehicle as we did!

Car is located about 10 minutes south of Cleveland in Parma, Ohio 44134. Please call Mark with questions or to test drive at 216-487-2087.

China orders Jeep to investigate Wrangler fire risk

Mon, 06 Jan 2014

It's been some time since we've heard anything about fires related to the Jeep Wrangler (foreign or domestic), but it sounds like the go-anywhere SUV could be in hot water once again in China. Bloomberg is reporting that the Chinese government is ordering Jeep to investigate the matter and, in the meantime, also recommending Wrangler owners to not drive their vehicles in "extreme conditions" due to a "relatively high risk" of catching on fire.
There is no indication as to how many vehicles or which model years are affected, but the previous fire problems in both the US and China - which led to investigations but no recalls - were traced back to automatic transmission fluid leaks. The article, however, does not say what the potential problem is this time around as Jeep has not released a comment on the matter. The official notice, in Chinese, can be found here.

2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel and SRT climb onto stage

Mon, 14 Jan 2013

This is indeed a case of not knowing how much we wanted something until it arrived. We've been big fans of the Jeep Grand Cherokee ever since the new model arrived a couple of years ago, and while the update you see here might seem just a slight refresh, it's actually much more than that.
For starters, the 2014 Grand Cherokee marks the return of a diesel model here in the States, with Chrysler's new 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 under the hood, churning out 240 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Of course, all of the Grand Cherokee's usual off-road goodies are on hand, with moderate tweaks to make it an even more capable vehicle when the going gets rough. Both the gasoline-fed 3.6-liter V6 and 5.7-liter V8 get the new eight-speed auto, as well.
The high-performance Grand Cherokee SRT also trudges on into the new model year, with very subtle tweaks found underneath the aggressive, slightly redesigned sheetmetal. The 6.4-liter Hemi V8 also gets eight-speed gearing, which Chrysler says will improve not only 0-60 times, but mid-range performance as well. Bring it on, we say.

NHTSA closes investigation into Jeep Liberty fires

Sun, 16 Mar 2014

The investigation that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration opened into the Jeep Liberty in October 2013 has been closed. NHTSA received two (!) complaints about fires starting in the driver's door, thought to be caused by the master power window switch. The initial estimate was that 80,000 Libertys could be roped into a possible recall, but according to a report in the Detroit News the agency examined records for 425,000 Chrysler products that used the same window switch, including the Dodge Nitro and Chrysler Town & Country minivan.
After canvassing 265 warranty claims related to the master switches, NHTSA concluded that the rate of fires compared to the "large population of vehicles" was rather low, and that there was no trend pattern behind the few issues it did find. Perhaps with that, and the closure of the trailer hitch investigation, the Liberty can finally rest in peace.
