THE BODY ON THIS JEEP IS IN GOOD CONDITION

NO MAJOR BODY DAMAGE. IT IS A 2002 SO THERE IS SOME USUAL NICKS AND SCUFFS.  THE PAINT HAS SOME SMALL AREAS

HERE AND THERE WHERE THE CLEARCOAT HAS SOME SPECKLES.  THE SPARE TIRE IS NEW.

THE INTERIOR IS IN GOOD CONDITON ALSO. THE SEATS ARE GRAY LEATHER AND IN GOOD CONDITION FOR THE YEAR.

THERE ARE NO MAJOR RIPS OR TEARS. EVERYTHING SEEMS TO WORK.  THE INTERIOR COULD USE A DETAILING.

THE ENGINE IS A 3.7 V6. IT HAS THE AUTO TRANSMISSION. THE TRANSMISSION AND 4X4 WORK FLAWLESSLY.  THE ENGINE DOES NEED

SOME MINOR REPAIR.  THE JEEP HAS A MISS AND IDLES A LITTLE ROUGHER THAN IT SHOULD.  I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC AND

HE REPLACED A FUEL INJECTOR AND A COIL.  IT RAN EXTREMELY MUCH BETTER, BUT THERE WAS STILL A MISS.  HE SCOPED THE CYLINDERS AND

DISCOVERED THERE IS A VALVE NOT SEATING PROPERLY ON THE PASSENGER SIDE.  I BOUGHT A LOW MILEAGE CYLINDER HEAD

FROM A WRECKED 2002 LIBERTY THAT IS IN GOOD SHAPE.  I WAS GOING TO REPAIR THIS FOR A SPARE VEHICLE, BUT DECIDED I

DO NOT HAVE THE NEED FOR IT AND DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY TO PUT INTO IT.

TIRES ARE LOW IN TREAD, THEY MAY OR MAY NOT PASS INSPECTION.

VEHICLE IS LOCATED IN CENTRAL PA. IT IS AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION PRIOR TO END OF AUCTION ANYTIME

Final Toledo Jeep decision may have nothing to do with city's efforts

Mon, Apr 13 2015

Toledo, OH is doing all that it can to keep production of the Jeep Wrangler in its boundaries, but the biggest issue facing the plant may be insurmountable, no matter how desperately the city wants to keep the Wrangler local. The Wrangler is built in a rather interesting manner at the Toledo Supplier Park: Fiat Chrysler only handles the very final assembly of each vehicle, while two other companies, Kuka, a German firm, and Hyundai-Mobis, a member of the sprawling Hyundai empire, produce the body and chassis, respectively. The vehicles are then transferred over to the FCA part of the park, where they're painted and completed. This was, as The Detroit News explains, a convenient arrangement back in 2006 when the supplier park opened. Chrysler, which was still owned by Daimler at the time, arranged for Kuka and Mobis to handle production, saving it a huge sum of money. Both suppliers own their own machinery and buildings and employ their own workers. Now that FCA is a relatively healthy entity, though, there's not a lot of need to be sharing profits with two other companies. "What [FCA boss Sergio Marchionne] would like is to have the advantages of high-capacity utilization, owning that capacity and taking advantage of that for himself versus having a supplier doing some of the things his competitors do internally," David Cole, chairman emeritus at the Ann Arbor, MI-based Center for Automotive Research, told The News. "It really adds another level of complexity to the situation." While Sergio Marchionne is a man that generally gets what he wants, it seems unlikely that either Mobis or Kuka would give up their role quietly. According to Jon Zapf, Mobis North America's chairperson for UAW Local 12, the company "definitely wants to maintain their part of this production process." According to The News, Jeep is likely to announce the location of next-generation Wrangler production in June. Expect to hear much more on this one in the coming months.

Jeep Wrangler gets the wide-track treatment

Mon, 07 Jan 2013

When we read the tip about a Gulf-state diplomat in Rabat, Morocco who had supposedly "merged two Jeep Wranglers," we figured the two off-roaders were somehow linked front-to-back. Oh no. As you can see in the image above, taken from video of that vehicle actually traveling down the road and needing more than one lane to do it, the two Jeeps were put together side-by-side.
The seriously widebody truck is said to have six wheels, one at each corner and two in the middle. That's about all anyone seems to know about it at the moment, and that's probably enough - in these situations you know better than to ask why, just watch the video below.

FCA to appeal reduced judgment in Georgia Jeep case

Thu, Aug 13 2015

FCA is appealing the $40 million verdict against it in a case in Georgia where a four-year-old boy died in a fire in a Jeep Grand Cherokee, according to The Detroit News. The jury originally awarded the child's family $150 million, but the judge decided to significantly to reduce the amount based on other precedents. The automaker has been considering further legal options since the decision was announced in July. The boy's death happened in 2012 when he was riding in a Grand Cherokee. The vehicle was rear-ended, and the fuel tank burst, causing a fire. This is the same issue that led to a recall of millions of the SUVs and a recent agreement with the US government from FCA to pay to get them fixed. In the original ruling, the jury said that the automaker was 99 percent responsible for the fatality and didn't adequately warn owners. It asked the company to pay $120 million for wrongful death and $30 million for his pain and suffering. FCA countered that the Jeeps met the safety standards of the time they were made. FCA requested that the jury's award be reduced in May calling the amount "grossly excessive." If the family didn't agree to a lower amount, the company also threatened to seek a new trial. Among the arguments was that $30 million was too much for the child's one minute of suffering. The parents did accept the judge's adjusted figure, though.
