2002 Jeep Liberty Sport.

  • Reason for selling;  We are retired and this is one of two extra cars. We no longer need to have a vehicle to get us through bad weather or snow. The plates will expire in March.
  • General Condition; No accidents, no dents, no dings, no paint repairs, no chips or scratches in the glass.  There are three very small rock chips that do not show up in the photos. The interior of the car is in good shape with some wear starting to show on the driver’s seat and drivers floor mat. The carpets are clean; headliner is spotless and snug to the roof.  No odors or signs of being smoked in. All power buttons and features work.
  • EBAY Autocheck has this rated at 73, which is well above average for a 2002 Jeep Liberty. It is in very good condition with a good history.
  • Maintenance; This Jeep has been very well maintained and was garaged. The Firestone Destination tires, brakes, spark plugs, coolant, serpentine belt, windshield, windshield wipers and muffler were replaced in 2012 and have less than 5,000 miles on them. The tires have 11/32 tread which is 1/32 less than new. The Transmission fluid and filter was changed 12,000 miles ago in 2011.
  • Power Train; The 3.7 V6 has had frequent oil changes and is quiet with no noises or leaks. The automatic transmission shifts correctly. The suspension is tight and the ride is good. The four-wheel drive engages correctly with no fuss or noise. There are no warning lights illuminated and all lights, wipers, washers and features work correctly.
  • Equipment includes; 4x4 four wheel drive with low and high range for getting through on slippery surfaces plus 2x4 two wheel drive for economy. Drivers and passengers air bags, air conditioning, power steering, power windows, tilt steering wheel, cruise, remote locking, delay headlight shut off, battery saving power shutoff, AM/ FM /CD radio, intermittent wipers , rear wiper, reclining seats, rear split folding seats, folding outside mirrors, privacy glass, center counsel with storage, rear tire cover and floor mats.
  • Clean and clear Illinois title in hand.
  •  This Jeep is in very good shape and has never let us down. It is a very dependable, smaller SUV with great visibility and short turning radius. It is easy to drive, easy to park, does not take up much room yet has plenty of room inside and has the capability of an 4x4 Jeep, yet comfort of a SUV.  We installed a trailer hitch in 2010 to pull a small garden trailer to carry mulch for our yard and transport our riding mower and snow blower to our daughter’s house 5 miles away.
  • Our Jeep is also listed locally and we reserve the right to sell locally and end this listing early.
  • Asking $5350.00. Reasonable offers will be considered.  Inspections are welcome and encouraged.
  •  Thanks you for looking and Best Regards.

Here's why you shouldn't try to drift a Jeep Cherokee

Tue, Nov 25 2014

This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. There are many reasons why an XJ-generation (or really any other) Jeep Cherokee doesn't make for a good drift machine. It's tall, it's four-wheel-drive... it's a Jeep, okay? But someone apparently forgot to tell that to this guy. Uploaded to LiveLeak, this video shows some poor schmuck who took his Cherokee to a (mostly) empty parking lot and tried to drift it. Needless to say, things didn't go quite as he planned, but they probably went exactly as you might have expected. Thankfully, nobody appears to have been hurt. Or at least, we assume so, since the guy apparently survived to put the video up online.

Fiat-based baby Jeep spotted testing in US and Europe

Thu, 03 Oct 2013

Details remain scarce, but our spy photographers have managed to capture the upcoming Jeep B-segment crossover for the first time, testing in both the Alps and in the US. Shown here as a cobbled-together Fiat 500L mule, the new Jeep model is expected to arrive for the 2015 model year and act as a replacement for the current Compass and Patriot models.
According to our shooter, the new "baby Jeep" will share a platform with the Fiat 500X, and both models will be built on the same assembly line in Turin, Italy. We can't tell much from these images, but the added length apparent on this 500L mule would seem to dispel the recent speculation that the new entry-level Jeep model would be sized closer to the Ford Fiesta - since the 500L is already considerably larger than the Fiesta. Powertrain options will likely mirror other Fiat/Chrysler collaborative vehicles like the Dodge Dart, but this Jeep will also try to live up to its off-road roots with an optional all-wheel-drive system.

Jeep Wrangler's shift to aluminum could see production leave Toledo

Mon, 06 Oct 2014

The Jeep Wrangler may be a timeless design, but sooner or later, time will run out and Chrysler will have to replace it with a newer model more friendly towards the earth it's designed to traverse. That will, it seems, mean a shift to aluminum construction (whether just for the body or for the entire structure) - but what will that mean for the Wrangler's long-time home of Toledo, OH?
According to the latest pronouncements from Fiat Chrysler chief Sergio Marchionne, the shift to an aluminum Wrangler would likely mean moving production out of Toledo. "If the solution is aluminum," Marchionne told Automotive News, "then I think unfortunately Toledo is the wrong place, the wrong setup to try and build a Wrangler, because it requires a complete reconfiguring of the assets that would be cost-prohibitive."
Marchionne also indicated that, were Wrangler production to move elsewhere, it would find another line to take its place in Ohio. "One of the thing that we are dealing with now is what else we do with Toledo that fulfills our commitment to the city and to Ohio. I don't have a doubt that there will be zero impact on head count and employment levels and anything else." Jeep has built the Wrangler in Toledo since World War II, with the exception of six years starting in 1986 when it was built in Brampton, Ontario. The complex dates back to 1910 and currently produces the Wrangler and Cherokee. Past products have included the Wagoneer and Commanche as well as the Dodge Dakota and Nitro.
