2007 Srt-8 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Powerful, Fast, Many Upgrades!!!!! on 2040-cars
Elmsford, New York, United States
I am the original owner of this vehicle. It was my daily driver and toy for 5 years until last year. There are many performance upgrades including Corsa exhaust (deep rumble without drone- THE best exhaust for these vehicles), B. Woody Cold Air Intake, B. Woody Lowering Springs, B.Woody Sway Bar End Links and a custom tune which is included with the Diablosport Preditor. (You are free to select any tune you wish (including the stock factory tune) at any time.) The tires have been upgraded to the massive Vredstiens which are the best tire I have ever had on this vehicle. The rears are 305 and the fronts are 275. I would estimate that the tires have about 65-70% life left on them.
The vehicle has 73K miles but I have just installed a new engine from a totaled 2007 SRT-8 Charger with 26k miles. I blew the engine while instructing students at Pocono Raceway late in 2012. The car is mechanically sound and blistering fast. In addition to the approximately 450HP the engine produces the huge Brembo Brakes with custom Carbotech Pads can pull this 5000lbs vehicle to a stop startingly fast. With the upgraded suspension it handles well enough for a race track. (The car has seen approximately 7-8 track days). In 2010 this vehicle was featured in the Robin Hood Rally, a reality show which featured high performance street and race cars competing on closed public roads to raise money for charity. While production isn't complete and I am bound by confidentiality agreements, I can tell you that were more 40 drivers of cars such as Porsches, Corvettes and Ferarris who were shocked at being beat by a Jeep! (But then again this ISN'T your average Jeep). In keeping with the theme of the Robin Hood Rally I will be donating a portion of the sales of this vehicle to CancerCare through eBay's Giving Works. This vehicle represents the perfect balance of daily driver and toy. Given the fact that it has been used and enjoyed as a vehicle like this should, the exterior paint shows the typical signs of tiny rock chips, dings and imperfection (mostly on the front end and rocker panels). The paint is still shiny and deep (just buffed and waxed) and the car looks perfect from 10 feet away. The wheels as well have some minor curb rash and discoloration from brake dust as the custom brake pads made by Carbotech for the Robin Hood Rally are very harsh. I will include both the Carbotech track pads plus a brand new set of Hawk HPS Plus street pads (which are more than adequate for daily driving). I believe I have some additional EBC Yellow pads which I will include as well. The interior is in excellent condition and was just shampooed. I will include a fresh set of front mats. The rear mats are perfect as the back seat was hardly used. I am selling the vehicle with no reserve and my opening bid is VERY reasonable (just check out others here). In general, this is an extremely FUN, extremely fast and mechanically sound vehicle that should give you many years of fun and turn many heads as its powerful, deep rumble commands attention. I reserve the right to end the auction early as the vehicle will be listed locally and on several of the forums. You can inspect the vehicle at my home in North White Plains, NY. Please contact me via eBay's "Ask the Seller a Question" feature. |

Jeep Liberty replacement takes shape
Wed, 16 Jan 2013Now that the Liberty has left us for greener pastures, it's time to start looking into the future of the midsize Jeep model. The next all-new vehicle for the off-road brand will be the SUV you see here, effectively replacing the Liberty, and not necessarily carrying on with that name.
From the sides, the prototype you see here sort of looks like a miniature version of the handsome Grand Cherokee, albeit with a bit more in the way of body sculpting. Up front, the seven-slat grille will be front and center, with completely revised headlamp designs that are reportedly angular and sweep well into the front fenders (you can sort of see what we're talking about in the side profile). That doesn't sound very Jeep-like, but we'll reserve judgment until we, you know, see the thing.
The bigger question with the Liberty replacement will be whether or not its off-road chops will be up to snuff. After all, the two previous generations of Liberty models were body-on-frame traditional SUVs, whereas this new Jeep rides on a larger version of the Dodge Dart platform.
Everything we know about the 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL
Tue, Oct 18 2016The 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL is perhaps the most highly anticipated SUV in America. The next-gen Wrangler is expected to get a host of updates that include new front and rear end designs, as well as an all-new pickup truck variant. Here's everything we know about the next version of Jeep's iconic SUV. November 7, 2016: JL Wrangler Forums released renderings of the 2018 Wrangler, and the SUV will generally stay the course. Compared with the current Wrangler, the new one will likely have slightly more aerodynamic bodywork and LED lighting, and the truck version's bed will carry traditional Wrangler design cues. The renderings also visualize what a Wrangler without a fully removable top could be like. The loss of the removable top is currently a rumor, and FCA's well-camouflaged prototypes have not given up the secrets of the roof. View 6 Photos October 18, 2016: Images of the upcoming Wrangler JL from a supposed Jeep dealer meeting surface, revealing the SUV's updated front and rear end design. The renderings point towards the next-gen Wrangler maintaining a seven-slot grille and round headlights. The SUV, though, will obtain LED light bars on the front fenders, while the taillights get a similar design to the units found on the Renegade crossover. Overall, the renderings display a smoother shape than ever before. September 16, 2016: A report from JL Wrangler Forums indicates that the next-gen Wrangler JL would utilize aluminum on the hood, as well as on the front and rear doors. The report claims the Wrangler will get its aluminum from supplier Alcoa, in the form of the company's C6A1 high form alloy, 6022 alloy sheet, and A951, which is the company's sheet bonding technology. View 30 Photos July 20, 2016: The first images of the Wrangler pickup truck hit the web. The pickup truck appears to be riding on a long-wheelbase Wrangler and flaunts a decently sized bed. From the overhead photos, we can see that the pickup truck will have a seven-slot grille, large rear taillights that mimic ones found on Ram's trucks, and be about the same size as a Chevrolet Suburban. Oh yes, the Wrangler pickup truck does exist and it's coming. July 10, 2016: A report from Automotive News claims that the Wrangler JL will continue to have its iconic, boxy shape, but changes have been made to ensure that the SUV is better off in terms of fuel economy. What Jeep has done to improve the next-gen Wrangler's fuel efficiency, though, is still a mystery.
Bring back the Bronco! Trademarks we hope are actually (someday) future car names
Tue, Mar 17 2015Trademark filings are the tea leaves of the auto industry. Read them carefully – and interpret them correctly – and you might be previewing an automaker's future product plans. Yes, they're routinely filed to maintain the rights to an iconic name. And sometimes they're only for toys and clothing. But not always. Sometimes, the truth is right in front of us. The trademark is required because a company actually wants to use the name on a new car. With that in mind, here's a list of intriguing trademark filings we want to see go from paperwork to production reality. Trademark: Bronco Company: Ford Previous Use: The Bronco was a long-running SUV that lived from 1966-1996. It's one of America's original SUVs and was responsible for the increased popularity of the segment. Still, it's best known as O.J. Simpson's would-be getaway car. We think: The Bronco was an icon. Everyone seems to want a Wrangler-fighter – Ford used to have a good one. Enough time has passed that the O.J. police chase isn't the immediate image conjured by the Bronco anymore. Even if we're doing a wish list in no particular order, the Bronco still finds its way to the top. For now (unfortunately), it's just federal paperwork. Rumors on this one can get especially heated. The official word from a Ford spokesman is: "Companies renew trademark filings to maintain ownership and control of the mark, even if it is not currently used. Ford values the iconic Bronco name and history." Trademarks: Aviator, AV8R Company: Ford Previous Use: The Aviator was one of the shortest-run Lincolns ever, lasting for the 2003-2005 model years. It never found the sales success of the Ford Explorer, with which it shared a platform. We Think: The Aviator name no longer fits with Lincoln's naming nomenclature. Too bad, it's better than any other name Lincoln currently uses, save for its former big brother, the Navigator. Perhaps we're barking up the wrong tree, though. Ford has made several customized, aviation themed-Mustangs in the past, including one called the Mustang AV8R in 2008, which had cues from the US Air Force's F-22 Raptor fighter jet. It sold for $500,000 at auction, and the glass roof – which is reminiscent of a fighter jet cockpit – helped Ford popularize the feature. Trademark: EcoBeast Company: Ford Previous Use: None by major carmakers.
