2007 Jeep SRT8 Grand Cherokee
About: At the time of their release to the public this was the fastest out-of-the box production SUV …….period. It still is today. Even faster than the Porsche Twin Turbo Cayenne. Not only is it unbelievably straight line fast but it is a total package with superior handling and braking. It shares very little with the standard Grand Cherokee. Ownership: We purchased it with 39K on the odometer. Clean Carfax (have copy) I searched for 11 months to find one in this condition to purchase. The vehicle is in pristine condition, non-smoker. I am a BMW / Porsche technician by trade and am very meticulous in all mechanical and cosmetic maintenance. It is my wife’s daily driver. Drive Train: ‘Big’ 6.1 SRT hemi, Mercedes NAG 5-speed trans, all-wheel-drive, Dana 30 diff in front and Dana Super 44 rear diff, Traction control. Entertainment System: Factory CD/DVD/ large screen Nav set-up with optional factory Kicker speaker / amplifier upgrade. Bluetooth and MP3 capabilities. New $4k Viking transmission and converter with Mercedes AMG Kevlar clutches and high pressure solenoids. Factory Mopar cold air intake, under drive crank pulley, MSD coil packs, throttle body, modified rear exhaust with 4” tips, Diablo tuned with data-logged tune loaded ($600 tuner included to change back to stock if desired), Sound deadening through-out vehicle and rear floor, new chrome plated factory style wheels with 4 new TPMS, custom rear diff aluminum cover, Bridgestone non run-flat tires slightly wider / taller than stock, full LED interior light conversion, full LED exterior light conversion, Xenon headlight / fog bulbs. Exterior paint has been wet sanded and buffed – it shows better now than when it was new in the showroom. Very slick and shiny. Recent Service: Oil changed (Mobil 1 every 5K) slotted brake rotors, brake
pads, brake fluid flush, factory coolant change, tires balanced. New OEM
windshield. I have a stack of receipts (folder full) of the $$$ spent on
upgrades in our ownership. Underneath is just as clean as topside. Experience: Unless you’ve driven one, unbelievable. It does everything extremely well. Very comfortable, very capable and safe in all conditions. If you’re looking for a vehicle that hauls your family, hauls the groceries and most importantly hauls ass – look no further. You will not find a better, nicer one. Costs / Maintenance: If driven everyday normally, gas mileage is comparable to a standard Jeep 5.7 Limited. Maintenance is comparable as well. Reason for Selling: My wife now wants a BMW Z4 BID WITH CONFIDENCE!!!! Look at my rating 414 transactions - 100%! Many of which were high $$$$$ transactions. Watch this 9-year-old drive Jeep Wrangler off-road [w/poll]
Wed, 28 May 2014This nine-year-old girl might be better at rock crawling than some people twice her age. But is it worth putting her in danger to do it? According to her father on the Jeep Experience Facebook page, her name is Faith, and she has been offroading with her family since she was two. At nine years old, she's now driving her dad's Jeep over the rocks by herself.
As you can see she's belted in and under her father's direct supervision and guidance. She shows immense confidence for someone her age and follows her dad's instructions on exactly what to do. Although, this could still be a very dangerous situation if something went wrong.
Previously, we saw a similar video with a six-year-old on a motorcycle driving on public roads through the desert. Voters decided by only a six-point margin that the adult should be in trouble for letting the kid ride the bike. Here, we have a slightly older child driving a vehicle off road. Where do you fall in this case? Is it still wrong to hand over control to a child? Let us know in the poll below and scroll down to watch the video.
2014 Jeep Cherokee configurator up and running
Fri, 09 Aug 2013Production delays aside, Jeep is steaming towards its September on-sale date for the 2014 Cherokee. The reborn midsizer's configurator has just gone live, meaning you can fiddle with different options, colors and trim levels to your heart's content.
The cheapest model available is the 4X2 Sport, which starts at a reasonable $22,995. On the high end, the Cherokee's builder allowed us to indulge our passion for ludicrously priced vehicles by outfitting the top-end Trailhawk, which already starts at $29,495, with $8,610 in options. The resulting car, which you can see above, would retail for $39,100 after the $995 destination is factored in.
Head on over to Jeep's build-it-yourself website and have a look around.
Radical 2016 Jeep Wrangler suggested by job listings?
Fri, 31 May 2013With most inside the industry expecting the next-generation Jeep Wrangler to arrive for the 2016 model year, it makes sense that the automaker would be looking for some choice candidates to to fill program openings as the off-roader goes through its development. A recent ad on Chryslercareers.com suggests to some that the lightweight Wrangler Stitch Concept, revealed just two months ago and shown above, provides some clues about the off-road icon's next iteration.
According to Automotive News, the job descriptions - which don't name the model specifically - hint that the next-generation Wrangler will benefit from a serious diet. The ads appear to seek those familiar with advanced high-strength steels, hinting that lightweight aluminum body panels may appear on the 4x4. In addition, there are suggestions that Jeep may fit the Wrangler replacement with air suspension, as seen on the Ram and Grand Cherokee, to retain ample off-road clearance yet lower that chassis to improve aerodynamics at highway speeds. The job postings reportedly also lend credence to the idea of a diesel Wrangler.
It seems every bit of the next-generation Wrangler is up for review, as it will be the first time this iconic model is redesigned under Fiat ownership. Questions remain whether or not the Jeep will retain its clip-down hood, easy-to-remove door pins and folding front windshield - loyalists expect them, but fuel economy and safety standards may crimp their cases for survival.
