Welcome and thank you for checking out this awesome Jeep. Sadly, I am selling this Jeep... I must do this because my family is growing and we are in the need for something more practical. I truly hate to see it go since I built it myself, but it must be done.
Long story short, I used to work at Iron Rock Offroad in Shakopee, MN a couple years back and while I worked there I built this Jeep. The jeep is a 1999 Grand Cherokee Laredo with the 4.7l v8, with 147000 miles. It has a 6.5" IRO long arm premium lift kit. I switched out the transfer case for a 242HD select-trec, giving the driver the ability to put it in 2wd and all time 4wd. I also replace the fabric seats with heated leather seats, which is great in the cold weather. The gas tank has also been lifted by removing the spare tire well, this giving the Jeep more clearance in the rear. Both front and rear axles have been built to beat anything. I guarantee they will never bend. I made custom trusses for both and enforced the front axle internally. Go to http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f197/lifted-zjs-wjs-picture-thread-536929/index154.html To see photos of the build. (NOTE: The build was just over two years ago and everything in the photos were brand new at that time).
It does have the ABS and brake light on. After having it checked I found that it needs a new ABS module. I never had it fixed Due to the fact that it doesn't affect the Jeep’s performance.
Build includes: 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.7l v8 with automatic transmission 242HD Select-trec transfer case Built D30 front end - 4.88 gears – open Dana 30 Inner Axle Sleeve Kit Dana 30 C Gusset Kit Front Control Arm Strength Kit Stainless Steel Braided Front Brake Hoses Front Driveshaft Conversion Kit Built D44a rear end - 4.88 gears – open Rear Heavy Duty Sway Bar Dual (Auxiliary) Steering Stabilizer Kit (no death wobble) Factory and aftermarket skid plates (After marked – not installed Gas tank lift (See photos attached in link above) 3" Iron Exhaust Cat Back System 17" Mickey Thompson classic II wheels (with a 5th spare) 35" BFG MTs custom cut treads (70+% tread life left) (with a 5th spare) Custom cut front bumper So much more… over $9,000 in parts alone.

Say goodbye to the Dodge Dart and Chrysler 200
Wed, Jan 27 2016Fiat-Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne outlined an update to the company's five-year business plan Wednesday, and among the changes, the Dodge Dart and Chrysler 200 sedans will soon be phased out. The company's presentation to investors states that the "market shift from cars to trucks and UVs [utility vehicles is] now seen as permanent shift in demand," and FCA wants to respond as quickly as possible. Killing the 200 and Dart will allow FCA to build more Jeep and Ram models at the Sterling Heights, MI, and Belvidere, IL, plants where the sedans were produced. We already knew FCA was planning to shift 200 and Dart production to Mexico, to free up the Sterling Heights facility for Ram 1500 production, and the Belivdere site for Jeep Cherokee output. The Cherokee will move from its current home in Toledo, OH, to allow for increased Wrangler production. It's no shock that FCA wants to shift its focus to crossovers and trucks. In December 2015, for example, combined sales of the Dodge Dart and Chrysler 200 were 15,310. The Jeep Cherokee, which uses the same platform as the Dart and 200, outsold both models combined, with 24,049 sales. Both the Dart and 200 had troubles from the beginning. Marchionne recently blamed designers for the 200 not receiving a Consumer Reports 'recommended' rating, and the Dart was one of the lowest-scoring cars in a CR reliability study. The Hemi deserves to die | Opinion
Thu, Apr 14 2022Hi. I'm Byron and I love V8s. I want them to stick around for a long, long time. But not all V8s are created equal, and I will not mourn the passing of the modern Hemi. You shouldn't either. While we may agree that its death is untimely, if you ask me, that's only because it came far too late. Stellantis’ announcement of its new, turbocharged inline-six that is all but guaranteed to kill off the Hemi V8 has led to quite a few half-baked internet takes. The notion being suggested by some, that automotive media were brainwashed into believing the Hemi was in need of replacement, is so far divorced from reality that I openly guffawed at the notion. Journalists have been challenging Chrysler, FCA and now Stellantis for years to deliver better high-performance engines. The response has always been the same: “Why?” Why replace a heavy V8 with a lighter, all-aluminum one? Why repackage powertrains for smaller footprints and better handling vehicles? Why be better when “good enough” sells really, really well? I too mourn the departure of good gasoline-burning engines, but since when was the Hemi one? HereÂ’s a quiz: Name every SRT model with an all-aluminum engine. TimeÂ’s up. If you named any, you failed. They donÂ’t exist. This isnÂ’t GMÂ’s compact, lightweight small-block, nor is it a DOHC Ford Coyote that at least revs high enough to justify its larger footprint. The Hemi is an overweight marketing exercise that happened to be in the right place at the right time. That time was 2003, when Chrysler was still Chrysler — except it was Daimler-Chrysler and the "merger of equals" was doing a bang-up job of bleeding the company's cash reserves dry while doing virtually nothing to address its mounting legacy costs. "That thang got a Hemi?" was emblematic of the whimsical, nostalgia-driven marketing of the colonial half of the "marriage made in heaven." That was 20 years ago. 20 years prior to that, emissions-choked American V8s were circling the drain faster than a soapy five-carat engagement ring in a truck stop sink.
Jeep Wrangler gets the wide-track treatment
Mon, 07 Jan 2013When we read the tip about a Gulf-state diplomat in Rabat, Morocco who had supposedly "merged two Jeep Wranglers," we figured the two off-roaders were somehow linked front-to-back. Oh no. As you can see in the image above, taken from video of that vehicle actually traveling down the road and needing more than one lane to do it, the two Jeeps were put together side-by-side.
The seriously widebody truck is said to have six wheels, one at each corner and two in the middle. That's about all anyone seems to know about it at the moment, and that's probably enough - in these situations you know better than to ask why, just watch the video below.
