1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.9 Limited Sport Utility 4-door 5.9l on 2040-cars
Belleville, Illinois, United States
1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.9 Limited. I've owned it for nearly 7 years and its been a great vehicle just simply spend too much time in the garage so it need a new home. The interior and exterior are in above average condition of a vehicle of its age. The leather interior shows minimal wear and the exterior is in great shape with the exception of minor scratches and parking lot dings. It has been garage kept its entire life and it shows. During my ownership is has always been services with all synthetic fluids. The only major repair I've ever needed to have done to the Jeep was a transmission rebuild approx 2 yrs ago and that was performed my Aamco. Not only this 5.9 Limited has all the bells and whistles of the special edition but also has a upgraded pioneer sound system. Feel free to ask me any questions. I reserve the right to end this auction at any time due to local sale.

The Jeep has NO fluid leaks what so ever. The engine as been services using full synthetic 10W30 oil during my entire ownership and was just serviced. All brakes and rotors were replaced in 2013. Tires have greater than 50% tread with no repairs. Engine coolant and thermostat were changed in 2012. The Jeep has been babied since I've owned it and mainly only used for road trips or weekend trips to the lake. I wouldn't hesitate going cross country in a heartbeat On Mar-17-14 at 16:48:57 PDT, seller added the following information: Also forgot to list that in 2012 along with the engine cooling system being services it has a complete tune up: Plugs. Winter storm got you down? Try snowboarding through Manhattan
Tue, Jan 26 2016Two filmmakers decided to make the best of this weekend's historic snowstorm by turning New York City into a winter sports enthusiast's wonderland. Popular YouTube based filmmakers Casey Neistat and Jesse Wellens uploaded this video of Neistat snowboarding through the empty streets of Manhattan yesterday. While officials were warning motorists to avoid driving in the blizzard, Neistat and his buddy were being pulled by a Jeep Wrangler through Times Square. It goes without saying that this stunt is suicidally dangerous. There are several moments in the video where Neistat gets pretty close to wiping out on the back of parked, snow covered cars or on the cornerstones of buildings. All to the soundtrack of Frank Sinatra's New York, New York, no less. The police do make a cameo, but NY's finest admit to merely wanting to watch the escapades. "Someone complained about you, so we're going to act like we're talking to you," the unnamed officer can be heard saying on video. The original video has since gone viral, and currently stands at over 6.2 million views in just 24 hours. Despite the virality of their tricks, please do not attempt this in your own snowbound metropolis.
Jeep Wrangler likely to get aluminum body, will stay in Toledo
Mon, 27 Oct 2014Perhaps more than any other vehicle currently for sale in the United States, the Jeep Wrangler is viewed by purist fans as a vehicle that simply must maintain the status quo. In this case, that means a body-on-frame design, solid axles, a relatively large engine sitting up front and a removable top. It's always been that way, and it always will be.
Maybe.
According to the most recent reports, the next-generation Jeep will continue to soldier forth with a full steel chassis underneath its stamped bodywork. The biggest change, reports Automotive News, will be that said panels will be hewn from aluminum instead of steel, a seismic shift of a transition not unlike what's happened with the new Ford F-150. Because it won't be a unibody, the SUV will likely continue to be assembled in Toledo, OH as it (almost) always has been - the latter has been a source of heartburn in recent weeks for the Northwestern city in the Buckeye State.
Jeep CEO details the next Wrangler's push for efficiency
Sun, Jul 10 2016Jeep CEO Mike Manley's brief for the new Wrangler is a simple one – don't mess it up. But in that pursuit of keeping things proper, the affable Englishman has revealed that the brand is trying to walk a fine line while bringing its most iconic model into the 21st century. That's most important on the car's exterior. Like other long-serving American vehicles, the Wrangler is defined by its image. But even with aerodynamics playing a bigger role on the JK's successor, Manley was adamant during a conversation with Automotive News that the boxiness will carry on. "You have to be very careful with the aero of Wrangler, because at the end of the day, it needs to be recognizable as a Wrangler," Manley told AN. "To some extent that restricts you on some of the aero that you can do." Spy photos show a more rakish windshield and fascia, both key moves to lessen the aerodynamic impact of the Jeep's traditionally brick-like design. "But with weight and a number of the changes that we've made, you're going to see that we've really pushed that vehicle forward in terms of its fuel economy." The context of that last sentence points to a weight savings, something Automotive News backs up. While the Wrangler won't go all-aluminum, its frame is going to be lighter and stronger, and it will use aluminum for certain "hang-on" body parts. But this push for weight savings won't extend to the Wrangler's intangibles. It'll still ride on a body-on-frame architecture and feature solid axles at both ends, for example. Combine Manley's comments and AN's reports with news that the Wrangler will use an eight-speed automatic and offer diesel and four-cylinder turbo power in its next generation, and it's clear Jeep is trying to make the biggest strides in decades without alienating its die-hard fans.
