1989 JEEP COMANCHE ELIMINATOR 132,800 original miles. Southern Georgia Comanche so no rust issues. 4.0 inline 6 cyl. engine Automatic Power transmission option. All original except radio which was switched for a professionally installed CD/radio with new speakers. Interior is in good condition with slight wear to drivers seat but no holes. Carpet is original and for its age is in good condition. The tail gate has a dent as in photos. Windshield has a stone chip at the top. The paint looks good but not new condition. Was repainted a few years ago. Has a few blimishes here and there but still looks good. The Goodyear Wrangler tires are close to new condition. All of the fluids are clean and clear. Mon, 14 Jan 2013Traditionally, automotive journalists can be heard muttering something to the effect of "Geeze, it's about time!" whenever a vehicle's midcycle refresh is revealed. As we routinely see and drive new models many months before the public even claps eyes on them in showrooms - and then go on to tweeze apart their minutia in our daily writings - perhaps some impatience is to be expected. With so much exposure to a given vehicle, it's fair to say we tire of most cars and trucks far more quickly than the average consumer.
The alterations are handsome, if not subtle touches from the "If It Ain't Broke" school of design.
Which is why we're pleased to say "Oh, is it time for that already?" when it comes to the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The current WK2 Grand Cherokee hit the market in 2011 and climbed its way into our hearts with its rugged good looks, go-anywhere capability and surprising refinement. We're not yet tired of its appearance or performance, but even so, we're very glad to see Chrysler giving its flagship Jeep some attention, including a much-anticipated diesel powertrain option and some other economy-minded measures.
Jeep Wrangler by Vilner takes extreme luxury off-road
Mon, 20 Jan 2014Vilner turned its customary and intensely luxurious attentions to a two-door Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited back in 2012, following that up this year with its take on the four-door version. A coat of lustrous black paint outside is brightened up LED headlights, foglights and taillights and layers of chrome laid on the grille, mirrors, door handles and fuel filler cap.
Stance gets an injection of brawn from the 20-inch wheels, and they'll roll faster thanks to the power upgrade from 197 horsepower and 339 pound-feet of torque in the 2.8-liter diesel to 257 hp and 412 lb-ft.
Inside is furious red, with cross-stitched crimson leather and Alcantara demanding your focus. When you can look away from that, you'll find the raw metal parts painted black and again ornamented in minor applications of chrome. Feel free to feast on it in the high-res gallery above.
