Jeep Cherokee Sport Suv 2001 6 Cyl. Red Salvage Or Parts on 2040-cars
Chatsworth, California, United States
This vehicle is located in Southern California in the Los Angeles area. Specifically it is in Chatsworth, 91311.
Please note: Vehicle is being sold AS IS only. Buyer to arrange pick up and/or delivery. No shipping will be arranged by seller. Please ask regarding any special payment arrangements. There is no warranty and vehicle cannot be returned. There are no guarantees that this truck will be road worthy again, however it certainly can be used for parts. Thanks for your understanding in advance! 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport for parts or possible repair. Recent accident in February 2014. Vehicle is not drivable and will have to be towed or put on a flatbed. Was inspected by two insurance companies and deemed totaled by one and possibly repairable by the other. Perhaps this car is now someone's weekend project to repair or use to fix another Sport. This vehicle came off of a lease when purchased and has had only two owners. Most of the miles are freeway miles, as the truck was originally owned by Wells Fargo Bank for executive trips from Los Angeles to San Francisco and for personal weekend trips out of the city. Engine has 76,036 original miles and the transmission has about 29,000 miles on it, as it was re-built. The battery is fairly new, but went dead recently due to non use of the car. It can most likely be recharged. Most of the damage is the front passenger side. The radiator has to be replaced and is not functional. Car was put on a flatbed by a towing company from the accident scene and has been kept in the same place since then. Interior needs a good cleaning, but is in great shape with seats, door panels, carpeting, console, dash, etc. in fine condition. All windows and windshield are in fine condition. Perhaps it can be fixed, but this vehicle is certainly worth it for parts or for repairing another Jeep. The title is currently clean and not a salvage title. The registration is good until June 2014. Feel free to ask any further questions. NO RESERVE. |

Millionth Jeep Wrangler JK to roll off line this morning
Fri, 17 May 2013According to a report on the Chrysler Communications Facebook page and one fairly grainy image of the production line, at around 11:00AM Eastern this morning, the one-millionth Jeep Wrangler JK will roll out of the company's Toledo assembly plant.
The third-generation or "JK" Jeep Wrangler has been around since the 2007 model year, and has obviously been more popular than ever. With a greater than ever number of trim levels, two-door and four-door Unlimited models and hardy off-roading Rubicon packages, the JK offers more to choose from than ever for those looking for something in a traditional Jeep. In fact, with the modern 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 powering it, the 2012 model year saw more than 140k Wrangers sold here in the US; the best-ever figure for the model.
With a model refresh due out for the Wrangler in 2015 (along with the likely addition of a diesel engine option), we expect that sales will continue to roll right along, too.
Say goodbye to the Dodge Dart and Chrysler 200
Wed, Jan 27 2016Fiat-Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne outlined an update to the company's five-year business plan Wednesday, and among the changes, the Dodge Dart and Chrysler 200 sedans will soon be phased out. The company's presentation to investors states that the "market shift from cars to trucks and UVs [utility vehicles is] now seen as permanent shift in demand," and FCA wants to respond as quickly as possible. Killing the 200 and Dart will allow FCA to build more Jeep and Ram models at the Sterling Heights, MI, and Belvidere, IL, plants where the sedans were produced. We already knew FCA was planning to shift 200 and Dart production to Mexico, to free up the Sterling Heights facility for Ram 1500 production, and the Belivdere site for Jeep Cherokee output. The Cherokee will move from its current home in Toledo, OH, to allow for increased Wrangler production. It's no shock that FCA wants to shift its focus to crossovers and trucks. In December 2015, for example, combined sales of the Dodge Dart and Chrysler 200 were 15,310. The Jeep Cherokee, which uses the same platform as the Dart and 200, outsold both models combined, with 24,049 sales. Both the Dart and 200 had troubles from the beginning. Marchionne recently blamed designers for the 200 not receiving a Consumer Reports 'recommended' rating, and the Dart was one of the lowest-scoring cars in a CR reliability study. Federal investigations about safety of rear-mounted gas tanks is nothing new
Sun, 09 Jun 2013The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Chrysler are currently making waves in our daily news feeds due to a disagreement over the safety of a few million Jeep Liberty and Grand Cherokee models. Specifically, NHTSA has asked Chrysler to recall the SUVs because of the location of their fuel tanks, but you may be interested to know that requests such as this are nothing new.
Besides the two Jeep models, NHTSA has launched investigations over the years in such models as the Ford Crown Victoria (and its police-car counterpart), GM pickups built between 1972 and 1987, and rather famously the Ford Pinto.
Understanding how automakers and NHTSA have dealt with fuel-tank-safety concerns in the past may offer a better understanding of how Chrysler and the government agency will settle their current dispute. Check out the complete article from The Detroit News here.
