Jeep Cherokee Country Xj 1995 - Excellent Condition on 2040-cars
Marina del Rey, California, United States
You are bidding on a 1996 Jeep Cherokee Country XJ. This car has been in my wife's family since 2003 when her dad first had it. My wife then had it for a few years and now her sister has it. She has just finished school though and is now getting a smaller car for her daily commute.
The car has been used daily since they owned it, and my father in law is only the 2nd named person on the vehicle title, which I have with the car. Apart from the usual wear and tear - sun faded paintwork, the odd scuff and scratch here and there, the car is in very good condition bearing in mind its nearly 20 years old. The leather inside looks superb, it runs very well and has been very reliable. There has been some work carried out on the car recently, including; March 2014 - New fuel pump and catalytic converter ($875) June 2013 - Oil service, new battery, replacement rear wheel cylinders, reseal of oil filter housing, brake fluid change ($1180) I have the receipts here for the above work. Also, today the car just PASSED its smog test with no problems at all. The results were really low in terms of emissions and I have the full report here also. Finally, the car was just given a really great detailing inside and out today. For a 1996 car, it looks really good inside and out and is a very solid & dependable car. According to the original window sticker, which I have here too, the total spec of the car is as follows; Jeep Cherokke 4WD 4DR Country Ext color - Black Int color - Dark sand Engine - 4.0 Power Tech six engine Transmission - 4 speed auto Standard equipment: Drivers airbag Command track part time shift on the fly 4WD Extra quiet insulation Front and rear gas shocks Halogen headlamps Light pearlstone or dk silver lower body cladding Dual remote control breakaway mirrors Roof rack 15x7 alu lattice wheels Woodgrain accents Tinted glass Full floor console w/armrest, storage and upholder Child locks - rear doors Intermittent wipers Optional equipment fitted: Country package ($1419) inc; Air conditioning Tilt steering Speed control Bright group ($202) inc; Bright grille/bumpers Bright electric mirrors Power group ($582); Power windows Power locks Keyless entry (sorry the fob for this doesn't work anymore) 4 Wheel ABS ($599) Sunscreen glass ($200) Rear window defroster - $161 The total price of the car was $24138. The car is based in Marina Del Rey, CA, and you are welcome to come and see it anytime. There is a low reserve on the car and Im quite happy to end the auction early if somebody wants to pay a fair price for it. Many thanks for looking and good luck bidding. |

NHTSA investigating why Jeep recall fix is taking so long
Mon, 07 Jul 2014Jeep's saga with the National Traffic Safety Administration and the voluntary campaign to repair 1.56 million vehicles for allegedly unsafe trailer hitches, is getting yet another chapter. The controversy appeared to finally be over in January when the automaker found a supplier for the replacement parts. Nothing is ever that easy, though, and the government regulator is now requesting documents from the company to clarify why the repairs are taking so long to begin.
Jeep parent company Chrysler has until July 16 to submit documents and answers to NHTSA explaining the situation. The regulator claims that despite its compromise to inspect and repair the models with improper hitches in June 2013, Chrysler didn't find a part supplier until December and didn't order the replacements until January. The government agency believes that the first components weren't manufactured until May of this year and vehicles may not actually be repaired until as late as August. According to the report, if the Chrysler doesn't supply what NHTSA is asking for, the agency could "take additional appropriate action as warranted."
Throughout this entire process, Chrysler has asserted that the vehicles met the applicable crash test standards of the time, and it has kept NHTSA abreast of the repair activity. In a recently released statement it said that the regulator analyzed eight rear impact reconstruction tests and found the replacement hitch to be safe. To keep up with the high demand for replacements, Chrysler is working with multiple suppliers, and they are running three shifts, six days a week to get the parts ready as soon as possible.
Jeep dealer buries WWII Willys GP in showroom floor
Tue, 04 Nov 2014The Willys MB Jeep earned icon status during World War II thanks to its ruggedness, simplicity and go-anywhere ability. Following the war, it didn't take long for the handy vehicles to be scooped up by the public, and a brand slowly grew around the vehicles that has continued to thrive. Fast-forward to present day, where it's not uncommon for auto dealers to try to grab some of the magic of yesteryear by displaying classic models to connect customers with their brands' proud histories. Now, a Canadian Chrysler Group dealer is taking that notion to the extreme by actually making a vintage WWII Jeep part of its foundation.
Bay King Chrysler in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, recently completed its new showroom, and the franchise really wanted to show its dedication to the Jeep brand. As dealer principal Jamie Richter tells Autoblog, the inspiration for the Jeep installation came from his brother, who became fascinated with a home that had a glass floor looking down into its wine cellar. The company already had the 1943 Willys MB to display, but it had originally planned to build a jungle gym around it for customers' kids. Now, the classic is literally in the floor as customers enter. Richter tells Autoblog that customer reaction so far has been "fantastic."
It's certainly a novel way to bring people into the showroom, and seemingly a nice nod not only to Jeep, but to the men and women who served in the war. If you want to see more about how the Jeep was actually installed and what it looks like, check out this video.
Chrysler highlights Mopar lineup for SEMA
Wed, 30 Oct 2013SEMA is all about aftermarket parts, and in Auburn Hills that all comes down to one name: Mopar. After having previewed its lineup for this year's Vegas tuner expo earlier this month, Chrysler has now revealed what may not quite be its full dossier of modified show cars, but a good portion of them.
All told Mopar is preparing 20 vehicles for display at SEMA this year. Among them you'll find the Ram Sun Chaser, a 1500 Quad Cab show truck kitted out in two-tone orange and black paint, a roof rack for surfboards, onboard shower and convertible tailgate. The white Fiat 500L is called the Adventurer and is modified for a more rugged look that could hint at the upcoming crossover version. The Jeep Cherokee Trail Carver upgrades on the Trailhawk package with everything from roof basket to rock rails. To counterbalance the off-roaders, there's also a modified Chrysler 300S with a deep black paint job, special grille, Varvatos-edition wheels and more.
All four concepts details so far have Katzkin interiors as well, and there's also an unspecified Dodge Durango with a storm-trooper look in the gallery above. But for more details on what Mopar has installed on the Ram, 500L, Cherokee and 300, you'll want to delve into the press release below.
