1998 Jeep Cherokee Classic 4x4
Thanks for viewing this gorgeous and VERY rare Jeep Cherokee Classic!!!! Like with all of our vehicles here at Davis AutoSports, this is a Carfax Certified Buy Back Vehicle, which also happens to be a real 1 OWNER TRUCK. Here at Davis AutoSports, we specialize in in XJ Jeeps and have the largest inventory of any ebay seller and I can personally guarantee you WILL NOT find another XJ like this. This Jeep is in great condition in every aspect for the year and mileage. The previous owner took great care of this Cherokee both cosmetically and more importantly mechanically. This rare find will come with a VA state inspection to assure that it is in great mechanical condition!!!! These 97-01 Cherokees are getting VERY hard to come across specially in this condition. We sell a lot of these Cherokees here at Davis Autosports and we know what to look for when it comes time for us to buy them so rest assure you are getting a great Jeep. If you are looking for a cheap or "ebay special" Cherokee, this is NOT the one for you, if you are looking for a very mechanically sound, GORGEOUS and AMAZINGLY well cared for Cherokee than this is the the one for you !!!!
THIS JEEP HAS A NEWER COMPRESSOR, AC EVAPORATOR, ALL NEW SPARK PLUGS, WIRES, DIS CAP, AND MUFFLER. !!!!!! Exterior Condition The exterior of this vehicle is in AMAZING condition for the year and has been well cared for. This Jeep was adult owned and driven and shows great. The paint has a great shine and smooth finish. The body doesnt show any major damage and looks GREAT!!! The body shows a few minor blemishes but as you see in the photos and HD video, nothing major at all. I tried to include as many pictures as possible so you can see the true condition of the car.....This Cherokee is GORGEOUS in person. You will be very very impressed with with the condition of exterior. The wheels are in amazing condition and the tires measure 6/32" which is about 75%. Please keep in mind this is a pre-owend vehicle so it will show some very minor wear. MOST IMPORTANTLY: This Cherokee is ABSOLUTELY RUST FREE, the undercarriage looks amazing, all the common places for these to have rust...well this Cherokee has NONE. The undercarriage STILL shows the factory stickers on the drive shaft and chalk marks on the suspension which are issued from the factory, try finding another Cherokee XJ with that, they dont exist. I will photo below the common places for these Jeeps to have rust. The roof on these trucks usually start to peel and get "crows feet" in the paint, the roof on this Jeep is like brand new.
Interior Condition
The interior of this Jeep is in great condition. The carpets show ZERO wear or stains. The seats are also in amazing condition for the year and mileage. We just replaced the headliner which they always sag. The rear cargo area is clean and shows well with FULL SIZE Spare with Limited OEM Wheel and brand new Tires. The Jack and kits has never even been out of the hardware. All dash and door panels are very clean. The photos below will show EVERY part of the interior so you can see for yourself how clean it is. All interior components function as they should and the AC is ICE ICE COLD!!! You simply will NOT find a NICER Cherokee.
This Jeep is in great condition in every way, the motor runs great and is very strong and starts up fine with no issues. All driving components work just as they should, the tranny is nice and tight and shifts very smooth, the brakes work great as they were just serviced. As great condition as this car is, IT IS a pre owned car therefore you will find some minor wear from it being driven, both interior and exterior. I would also like to add the AC is ICE cold !!!

Movie buffs! Remember the scene in the James Bond film 007: The Living Daylights where Timothy Dalton's character slices the floorpan off a police Lada using a laser, and when the driver hits the brakes the Lada's body simply jumps off its axles? That scene was immediately brought to mind as I watched this clip of eight Canadian mechanics disassembling a slightly modified Jeep in a matter of seconds. Having driven the Jeep to a complete stop, the technicians start unbolting it until the body lifts off the frame and the engine can be hauled away. It only took half a minute to turn the Jeep into just a chassis on wheels. As repair manuals say, refitting is the reversal of removal. Apparently the technicians have now honed their mechanical choreography to the point that the Jeep can be disassembled and reassembled in two minutes and 39 seconds; while I expect a great number of bolts having been removed beforehand and the likelihood of the Jeep falling to pieces with a sharp braking being significant, it is definitely impressive. It also reminds me of someone driving an old, dodgy car, having learned all its kinks to be able to keep it running. According to a Reddit thread, the pre-modified "Jifty Jeep" has been built (and taken apart, and rebuilt) by the School of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME) for exactly this purpose. The team travels all around Canada to practice their show, trying to shave seconds off their record. There are worse hobbies.

It's no surprise that as SUV and truck sales remain strong in the wake of unusually cheap gas, Jeep and Ram sales are taking off. What is a surprise is that FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne thinks that cheap gas will be a "permanent condition," and feels strongly enough about it to change up North American manufacturing plans. Jeep appears to be the biggest beneficiary of the product realignment. In addition to increasing the sales estimates for the brand worldwide upwards to 2 million units a year by 2018, the brand will get a flood of investment for new product and powertrains. Consider the Wrangler Pickup to be part of the salvo, as well as the Grand Wagoneer three-row announced in 2014 as part of the original five-year plan. The Wrangler four-door will get at least two new powertrains, a diesel and mild hybrid version, in its next generation. That mild hybrid powertrain may utilize a 48-volt electrical system like the one that's being developed by Delphi and Bosch – which the suppliers think will be worth a 10 to 15 percent fuel economy gain at a minimum. Down the road, in the 2020s, the Wrangler could adopt a full hybrid system. The diesel powertrain is planned for 2019 or 2020. The Ram 1500 is also pegged to receive a mild hybrid system, again potentially based on 48-volt architecture, sometime after 2020. Lastly, Jeep and Ram will take over some of the production capacity of existing plants. The Sterling Heights, MI, plant that builds the Chrysler 200 will now build the Ram 1500; the Belvidere, IL, facility that produces the Dodge Dart will take over Cherokee output; the big Jeep facility in Toledo, OH, will be used for increased Wrangler demand. In 2015, according to FCA's numbers, car and van demand went down by 10 percent, but SUV demand went up 8 percent and truck demand 2 percent. Considering that these are high-margin vehicles, FCA can't ignore the math. FCA also won't build any new factories to supplement production to meet demand, but instead are reshuffling production priorities. Think of it this way: FCA is gambling on cheap gas being a permanent part of our lives, at least into the 2020s. By doubling down on SUVs and trucks, the company stands to win big, unless a spike in gas prices changes the landscape. FCA isn't talking about a Plan B, so they're all in. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out.

After their rented 2007 Hummer H3 failed them during the brutal Rallye Aicha des Gazelles in Morocco, Amy Lerner and her sister Tricia Reina were on a quest to find the most capable production off-roader for their next competition - they chose a 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. Their next mission was to find a company with the competence to configure it to win. After poring over Internet forums and perusing countless magazines for an outfitter who could meet their demanding requirements, they sent their bright orange JK ("Crush" is the official color) to American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) for some modifications. The Michigan-based team at AEV kept the Jeep's 3.6-liter V6 and automatic transmission stock, but replaced the hood with a tall AEV Heat Reduction Hood and added an AEV Snorkel Kit for water crossings (it serves double-duty as its raised height helps to keep the air intake out of the kicked-up dust on the trail). Front and rear off-road bumpers were bolted in place, and AEV skid plates were added to provide additional undercarriage protection. A pair of IPF-900 off-road lights improve visibility, while a 10.2-gallon AEV Fuel Caddy (located behind the exterior spare) added some range. The suspension was upgraded with a 3.5-inch lift kit with Bilstein remote reservoir shocks, and 35-inch Falken Wildpeak A/T tires (LT285/70R17) were mounted at all four corners on AEV's beadlock wheels.
