I buy and sell 4X4 oil-gas fleet trucks and ship them all over the world. Sometimes I get my hands on something rare like this super low mile 2001 Jeep Cherokee Classic Sport. I have owned a lot (have 2 right now, just sold the 3rd) of these classic square body Jeeps and really love them, they are they were the best Jeep product built, are awesome off road vehicles, super reliable and extremely popular here in the Colorado mountains. This Jeep was owned by a Durango city engineer who would rather ride his mountain bike than drive to and from work. It has had excellent maintenance, has never been off road, no accidents, has never been abused in any way, is all original, no smoking-kids-pets etc. Equipped with a 4.0 6 cylinder engine, auto trans, gray cloth, tint, keyless entry, power windows-locks, rear heat/AC, fresh oil change-service, professionally detailed inside, this Jeep really is a cream puff, it drives like new and needs nothing.

Wow, KBB retail is $10900
but more interesting is where do you find one this old with such low miles???

Please read all of the ad below before you call me with questions or make on offer. As for questions, I'll always give you blunt, candid answers and I am happy to photograph anything you would like to see closer. I reserve the right to end this auction at anytime without warning as this Jeep is for sale locally.

The Good Stuff:

This Jeep is my current daily driver, it starts, runs, steers and stops like new, gets great mileage, has lots of power, I am really very impressed with it. If you have been searching for a 100% rust free, straight, clean, super low mile 4 door Cherokee Classic Sport, your search is over. If you are local I urge you to inspect this Jeep in person, it will impress you, make me a reasonable offer and you will own it. I just installed a brand new high quality fuel pump, had my mechanic check it out (he loved it, wants it) has good tires (65-75%) on factory steel wheels, has a brand new spare tire mounted on a custom after market external spare tire carrier, the carpet and seats are perfect, everything works as it should, needs nothing, just turn the key, point it and go!

The Not So Good Stuff:

This Jeep is 13 years old and in the Colorado mountains so there are a few negative cosmetic items to be expected. I am being pretty "nitpicky" but I value my feedback and no one likes "surprises". There is a small (1"-2") dent/scratch just below the drivers side rear window (see photos) There are multiple little "chips" on the rear bumper (touch up paint has not been applied, see photos) There are a couple scratches just below the passenger side rear window (see photos) There are 4 places on the rain gutters that show wear from a previous Yakima cross bar/cargo box setup (see photos) There is some discoloration/fading/marks from UV exposure on the tops of the plastic trim and bumper covers (see photos) There are 4 small holes drilled in the side of the console from a previous radio mount (see photos) There is some peeling on the passenger side front window trim (see photos) There is a very small hole in the right rear tail light lens (see photo) There is some discoloration on the roof rack in a couple places from UV exposure (see photos) There is some road chipping in the front bumper and on the bottom of the rocker panels. There are small scratches here and there from normal use. There are small scratches/chips in the window tint on the inside rear doors. Aside from some age related, normal used 4X4 SUV type stuff this is an awesome Jeep Cherokee and will make the someone very happy to own it.

Shipping: I have shipped trucks all over the world, have connections in the auto transport industry and have the ability to arrange wholesale shipping anywhere in the USA but the cost is entirely yours. For example, I just shipped a Jeep Wrangler to Oklahoma for $600 and another to Wisconsin for $650, figure approx .55-.65 a mile.

Stellantis wants to trim 3,500 hourly U.S. jobs, UAW says

Wed, Apr 26 2023

WASHINGTON — Chrysler-parent Stellantis NV wants to cut approximately 3,500 hourly U.S. jobs and is offering voluntary exit packages, according to a United Auto Workers union letter made public Tuesday. The automaker is looking to reduce its hourly workforce offering incentive packages that include $50,000 payments for workers hired before 2007, UAW Local 1264 said in a letter dated Monday posted on its Facebook page. Stellantis spokeswoman Jodi Tinson declined to comment. A person briefed on the matter said the figure might be lower than the figure cited in the UAW letter. In late February, Stellantis indefinitely halted operations at an assembly plant in Illinois, citing rising costs of electric vehicle production. The action impacted about 1,350 workers at the Belvidere, Illinois, plant that built the Jeep Cherokee SUV and resulted in indefinite layoffs. The automaker has warned it may not resume operations as it considers other options. The UAW letter said openings created by workers leaving would be filled by workers on indefinite layoff. Stellantis said in February that about 40,000 U.S. hourly workers were eligible for profit sharing. Last week, UAW President Shawn Fain said Stellantis' decision to idle the Illinois plant was "a flat-out violation" of the union's contract with the UAW and is unacceptable. The UAW will enter talks with the Detroit Three before labor contracts expire in mid-September. Earlier this month, General Motors said about 5,000 salaried workers accepted buyouts to leave the automaker. GM CEO Mary Barra said February job cuts of a few hundred jobs and the 5,000 buyouts "provided approximately $1 billion towards" a $2 billion cost cutting target. Ford Motor Co recently announced significant job cuts in Spain, Germany and other parts of Europe and in August said it would cut a total of 3,000 salaried and contract jobs, mostly in North America and India. The Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is the all-wheel-drive Hellcat you've been waiting for

Sun, Apr 9 2017

If the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT was the venerable SUV cranked to 10, the new Trackhawk goes to 11. Actually, make that 707, because the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is a Hellcat by another name. Under the hood is the same 707-horsepower supercharged V8 from the sinister corporate cousins Charger and Challenger. The torque rating drops just a bit to 645 pound feet, versus the 650 of the Hellcats, but we don't think many people will be too upset. Especially since Jeep claims the Trackhawk is capable of a 3.5-second 0-60 mph run and a quarter-mile time of 11.6 seconds. The former is right in line with the Challenger Hellcat. View 24 Photos The Grand Cherokee Trackhawk also offers a unique difference to the Hellcats, and its not the SUV body style. The Trackhawk is all-wheel-drive. Power goes from the supercharged V8 to an 8-speed automatic and a single-speed transfer case. There's also an electronic limited slip differential at the back. Jeep beefed up the transfer case with a wider chain that features forged sprockets. The rear drive shaft and half shafts have been strengthened to handle the extra power. Power is split 40/60 front and rear in the default automatic setting, and becomes more rear biased in more aggressive driving modes. In the sportiest "Track" mode, power is split 30/70. In the least aggressive "Snow" mode, power is split 50/50. The sportier drive modes also firm up suspension and decreases shift times. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Helping manage all the power is a high-performance suspension with adaptive Bilstein shocks. The suspension lowers the SUV a full inch compared with normal Grand Cherokees. Wheels are 20 inches in diameter and 10 inches wide wrapped in 295-millimeter wide tires, either all-seasons or optional three-seasons. An optional forged set of wheels is available, too, which Jeep says will save 12 pounds of weight. The wheels are stopped by Brembo six-piston calipers and 15.75-inch rotors up front, and four-piston calipers and 13.73-inch rotors out back. Jeep says the front brakes are the largest ever fitted to one of its vehicles. Visually, you'll be hard-pressed to tell a Grand Cherokee Trackhawk from the current SRT variant. The bumpers and fender flares are roughly the same. But a tell-tale sign is the lack of fog lights.

NHTSA closes investigation on 4.7M FCA power modules, no recall

Thu, Jul 30 2015

FCA US hasn't had the best time with recalls as of late. Not only did the company recently agree to greater safety oversight and paid $105 million to the government, that came just days after hacking fears prompted a 1.4-million model recall campaign. However, a recent decision to close an investigation by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration means that the automaker doesn't have to worry about another major recall possibly affecting 4.7 million vehicles, according to the agency's report (as a PDF). Last September, the Center for Auto Safety petitioned NHTSA to investigate an alleged problem with the totally integrated power module (TIPM) on these FCA US models. The group claimed that a fault with the component could cause a variety of maladies, including stalls, not starting, catching fire, unintended acceleration, and airbag non-deployment. At the time, it also submitted 70 cases where this had reportedly happened. According to NHTSA, "no valid evidence was presented in support of claims related to airbag non-deployment, unintended acceleration, or fire resulting from TIPM faults and these claims were found to be wholly without merit based on review of the field data and design of the relevant systems and components." The agency did find signs of an issue with the fuel pump relay in some Jeep Grand Cherokees and Dodge Durangos, but FCA US issued recalls for the problem in September 2014 and February 2015. Without anything else to go on, the Feds don't think it's worth investigating this topic any more.
