I have a 2000 Jeep Cherokee XJ, 2wd, 2.5l 4cyl, 5 speed manual transmission, SE model. Red exterior, Grey cloth interior. Power mirrors, Cruise, *Manual windows*, A/C (cold), good a/t tires, AM/FM/CD. very usable roof rack, 2" receiver hitch w/ 4pin wire hookup.

Non-smoker vehicle. Interior I would rate at a 9 out of 10 (1 small crack in the vinyl at the recliner lever on the driver's side, but no other stains, burns or cracks), exterior I would rate at a 7 out of 10, Running condition is as close to a "10" as you can get with a used car. I'd drive it to California tomorrow. Needs nothing. Engine and clutch are tight.

Adult driven. I'm 36 and have owned it for over 3 years.. I bought it from a 72yo man who had it for 5-6yrs. I have used only synthetic motor oil and high quality filters(changed every 4k miles). All routine maint has been performed.

Current mileage is 153k. I have seen at least 2 just like mine on CL w/ over 400k miles.

This is a very fun car. I would keep it forever but we found a Grand Cherokee that we can all fit in a little better.

Below is a link to more detailed photos of the Jeep.

Jeep and Alfa Romeo join the already exotic Italian police force

Mon, Dec 12 2016

Police departments in Italy are blessed with some of the most iconic cop cars on the planet. Where else will you see a pale blue Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 emblazoned with "Polizia" on the road? FCA decided they couldn't let Lamborghini steal the show and have handed over the first Jeep Renegade and Alfa Romeo Giulietta to the Police Academy in Rome. FCA is also loaning two Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloces that will join the two Giulia Quadrifoglios medical cars that are already in service. The Renegade is an four-wheel drive Italian-spec model with a 2.0-liter, 120 horsepower inline four-cylinder engine that we don't get in the United States. The current Giulietta is a small-hatchback that isn't sold in America. On the other hand, the new Giulia and its 280 horsepower turbocharged inline-four and the Q4 all-wheel drive system goes on sale next month. In polizia guise, it's one of the most formidable and beautiful pursuit vehicles on the road. FCA is no stranger to police cars and supplies Dodge Charger Pursuits to fleets all across the US. We spent some time in one a while back and learned all the pros and cons of driving a black and white cruiser. NHTSA closes book on Jeep 'trailer hitch' recall after all

Mon, 20 Jan 2014

After much debating and hand-wringing, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration now says it has "no reservations" with Chrysler's plan to recall certain Jeep Liberty and Grand Cherokee models over concerns that their fuel tanks, which are located behind the rear axle, could rupture or leak in the event of a rear impact. The longstanding argument between the two entities saw Chrysler openly defy the Feds after a request to recall 2.7 million units back in June.
Chrysler's "voluntary campaign" will instead see it recall 1.56-million 1993-2004 model year Grand Cherokee SUVs, along with 2002-2007 Liberty models. Affected vehicles will get a trailer hitch installed free of charge, which Chrysler says will provide an additional degree of protection for the fuel tanks in the event of a crash. Jeeps with Mopar-branded hitches or hitches that were installed at the factory aren't affected by this recall.
Chrysler's argument throughout this battle has been that the Jeeps in question are no more susceptible to fires than comparable vehicles from the same time period, a position that NHTSA has seemingly arrived at as well. "Those vehicles performed at a rate similar to their peers. That is the keystone analysis as to whether something poses an unreasonable risk to safety," said outgoing NHTSA boss David Strickland during an interview with the The Associated Press.
