 1995 JEEP CHEROKEE COUNTRY

VIN: 1J4FJ78S2SL612041

THERE ARE 50 HUGE IMAGES OF THIS JEEP SHOWN BELOW!

DESCRIPTION:

This NO RESERVE auction is for a great looking, well maintained, 1995 JEEP CHEROKEE COUNTRY. It runs smoothly and quietly and everything appears to be working correctly. The heat, A/C, tilt steering, remote mirrors, intermittent wipers and all of the other controls are functioning normally. It has electric windows, power steering and brakes and power door locks. There are honeycomb mag wheels all around (one tire doesn't match) with a full size spare on a steel rim.

We were shocked that this JEEP SUV has only 121,454 actual miles. No smoke, noises, leaks or other gremlins were present. This vehicle produces plenty of usable go from the proven 4.0 Liter"Power Tech Six"power plant and it has perfectly positive shifting through the 4-speed automatic transmission. The four wheel drive engages correctly and works just fine.

A list of recent repairs and improvements includes, but is not limited to: brand new OEM cylinder head, radiator, catalytic convertor, muffler and tailpipe, alternator, starter motor, battery and rear axle bearings. The left and right front floor areas had developed a few holes so new pans were put in. That appeared to be the only location where any rust had developed. The Jeep also passed New York State's rigid inspection for safety and emissions.

Noticed condition issues include some minor chips and scratches on the exterior finish typical of a driven car, which looks slightly better in the pictures than it does in person. The passenger side A-pillar has some dent marks from what could have been a one time attempted break in. There is also some staining on the interior fabric and carpeting as well as a few small holes. That said, if you are looking for very reliable four wheel drive transportation at an affordable price, this is a JEEP that you should seriously consider.

There is an abundance of additional general information about these JEEPS on the internet if you are looking for technical data or performance details. We drove it and we really liked it! A minor fender bender in 1999 was professionally repaired at that time. Please refer to the current CARFAX REPORT to assure yourselves of the correct history:1995 JEEP CHEROKEE (1J4FJ78S2SL612041)

As with all of our eBay Motors listings we try to let our high resolution photographs tell the story about the vehicles that we are selling. We have photo shots from every possible angle in slightly different lighting conditions. If you study our clear multiple images very carefully, you will see exactly what this nice looking JEEP CHEROKEE COUNTRY is all about.

The clear images of this vehicle, shown below, will do a much better job of describing the look, style, condition and value of this JEEP CHEROKEE COUNTRY WAGON than our words ever could. We invite questions and comments and there is NO RESERVE on this auction!

Stellantis to halt production at Melfi, Italy, car plant in April, union says

Mon, Mar 29 2021

MILAN — Carmaker Stellantis will halt production at its plant in Melfi, southern Italy, April 2-12 because of low demand triggered by the COVID-19 crisis, the UILM union said on Monday. Production at the plant, where the world's fourth largest automaker makes Jeep Renegade and Compass models and the Fiat 500X compact SUV, has been repeatedly disrupted due to weak demand and semiconductor supply shortages. The FIM CISL union said last week the firm was considering permanently closing one of its two production lines at the Melfi plant to address excess capacity in Italy. European car registrations fell 23% year on year in the first two months of this year, according to industry data, as protracted coronavirus lockdowns and consequent uncertainty keep impacting spending decisions among families and businesses. UILM's Gianluca Ficco said on Monday the company told unions the latest Melfi production freeze was specifically due to low demand and not a result of the global chip shortage. A spokesman for Stellantis confirmed the plant would be closed in that April 2-12 period. All of Melfi's more than 7,000 workers would be put on a furlough scheme for the period.

Vile Gossip: My Jeep Wrangler dreams

Fri, Jan 5 2018

Jean Jennings has been writing about cars for more than 30 years, after stints as a taxicab driver and as a mechanic in the Chrysler Proving Grounds Impact Lab. She was a staff writer at Car and Driver magazine, the first executive editor and former president and editor-in-chief of Automobile Magazine, the founder of the blog Jean Knows Cars and former automotive correspondent for Good Morning America. She has lifetime awards from both the Motor Press Guild and the New England Motor Press Association. Look for more Vile Gossip columns in the future. The new 2018 Jeep Wrangler's model designation is JL, my original initials, as in Jean Lienert. Don't Google that. You'll find I died in 2014 in Pittsburgh at age 85. I take this JL thing as a sign from God that I am supposed to finally buy a new Wrangler, the very first car of my dreams when my dreams included saving $25,000 and living off the grid in a one-room log cabin with all of my cast iron pots and pans. I did live in a tiny log cabin once, but when I discovered there was no line for phone, fax and printer, I trudged down the dirt road a half mile, knocked on a stranger's door and borrowed their phone to call AT&T. So much for living off the grid. And so much for the Wrangler. I bought a truck, which was useful, but it was not a Jeep, a fact confirmed when I landed a job writing about cars. Among the Porsches and Fords and Ferraris and Dodge Power Wagons were Jeep Wranglers. Wranglers meant adventure. Here are two favorites:1981 — Delivering the Pig of Bronze, Car and Driver's over-accessorized 1978 project Jeep CJ-7 (named for its chrome hood ornament), to the police chief of rural Waterloo, Neb. He got it because he wrote the editor a letter asking for it. It was my assignment to drive it there. I plotted as many miles of dirt roads as possible between Michigan and Nebraska, not wanting to waste my first big Jeep adventure on pavement and never questioning the ability of this denim-trimmed orange Jeep and its aftermarket aluminum wheels to get us there. So naive. Somewhere in deepest Iowa with the windshield flipped down to the hood for maximum coolness, the Pig's rear end began to shudder. As we rolled to a stop, the photographer looked back in time to see one of the five fancy extra-long chrome lug nuts plop into the dust. Two others had vanished. The last two had backed off to the ends of their studs.

FCA recalls 1.1 million vehicles worldwide due to confusing shifter

Fri, Apr 22 2016

Fiat Chrysler is recalling 1.1 million vehicles worldwide to address the problematic shifter used on cars with eight-speed automatic transmissions. The issue is that the console-mounted shifter acts like a rocker switch and always returns to the middle position after moved. This has been deemed confusing to drivers – confusing enough to cause some to exit their vehicles without first selecting Park and leading to the car rolling away. FCA says 41 injuries are related to the shifter problem, and no evidence of equipment failure has been found. The company will enhance warning chimes and alter the shift strategy, meaning alert messages will be displayed in case the driver door is opened while the engine is running. With the door open, the transmission will prevent the car from moving even if Park is not selected. The affected vehicles are certain model-year 2012–2014 Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300 sedans, as well as model-year 2014–2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs, an estimated 811,586 US vehicles in total. The recall also affects 52,144 vehicles in Canada, 16,805 in Mexico, and 248,667 vehicles elsewhere. The shifter is used with ZF-designed and ZF-built eight-speed automatic; Audi uses a similar shifter setup in some of its vehicles, including the current-generation, which predated Chrysler's use of it. Chrysler uses a different, a rotating-dial-type shifter on eight-speed-equipped Rams. The company moved away from the problem shifter design in 2015 for the Charger and 300, and the Grand Cherokee's shift lever was modified for 2016. Owners of affected vehicles will be notified of the recall when service is available. Fiat Chrysler urges customers to follow the instructions in the vehicle's owner's manual in the meantime.
