Hi, Up for sale is my 1988 CherokeeI originally bought the jeep 3 years ago and built it up in California, I moved Illinois and had it shipped back.  It spent its entire life, up until this past winter in California, so it has no rust.  I have kept all the receipts for this build along with the parts instruction manuals.  The odometer says 225,000, but that is only on the body, everything else has been replaced. Here's a list of all that is on it...  You can buy it now at $7500, the reserve is set at $6000.

"racing red" paint job done by Miracle auto body
rustys 6.5 inch long arm kit
skyjacker shocks
teraflex revolver shackles in the rear
extended brake lines front and rear
Dana 44 rear with axle truss, 4.56 gears and a detroit limited slip locker
Front High Pinion dana 30 out of a 97 cherokee, has stronger axle shafts, with axle truss, 4.56 gears with a lock rite "no slip" locker
rustys steering brace
Extended bump stops in the front

metal front steering skid plate
ax15 manual trans, I bought it new 3 years ago to replace the stock peugot trans.

Tom woods custom rear drive shaft
the engine has been fully built, bored 30 over with a high performance comp cam,
spectra air filter
sylvania ultra head lights
4 inch fender flares that are collapsible
5 33X12.5R15 Super swamper trXus STS Tires mounted on 5 cragar D wheels, spare has never been used
rugged ridge HD steering
interior Rockhard roll cage
JKS quick disconnects for the front sway bar
hood scoops
New cat
upgraded exhaust manifold and intermediate pipe
flowmaster muffler
Stereo by Pyle, four speakers, head unit and 1000 watt amp

The jeep has been wheeled and is unstoppable, it has some rock rash on the wheels and on the body, but the paint is still glossy and looks great.  There are two things that need a little bit of work.  There is some interference coming through the speakers, I've been told it just needs a better ground.  It also needs an alignment.  It drives straight and tracks fine, but the steering wheel is cocked at a strange angle.   If you have any other questions or want more pictures, let me know.  Thanks for looking.

Maybe I should have posted this better,  the body, mainly just the odometer has 225000 miles on it.  The axles, transmission, transfer case, engine, lift, and basically everything else has about 10,000 miles on them.  The axles were fully rebuilt at a shop in california called the rear end shop, new seals, new bearings, new gears and new lockers.  The transmission was bought new along with the bellhousing, slave cylinder and throwout bearing.  Transfer case is out of a 2006 jeep liberty and was rebuilt when the slip-yoke eliminator was installed. Tom woods driveshaft was purchased new when i bought the lift.  The engine has been completely torn down, and rebuilt at tech machine in Livermore, ca.  It has been bored 30 over and is running a comp cams xtreme 4x4 camshaft for big torque.  if you have any other legit questions, ask away. Thanks.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk undisguised with Hellcat power

Tue, Jul 5 2016

Superchargers make everything better. Mount one to the top of a 6.2L Hemi V8 and pack it under the hood of a Jeep Grand Cherokee and you have a recipe for a completely bonkers, wholly unnecessary, and totally sweet SUV. We've known for a while that the so-called Trackhawk, essentially a Hellcat Jeep, is on its way. We now have photos of a completely undisguised test vehicle on public Michigan roads trying to make its way to SRT headquarters. Jeep already makes an SRT version of the Grand Cherokee. That version only puts out a measly 475 hp and 470 pound-feet of torque from a 6.4L Hemi. After developing a couple of 707-hp Dodges, SRT felt that Jeep needed some of that Hellcat love too. In the photos, we can see that, aside from the front fascia, the Trackhawk will look fairly similar to the standard SRT Grand Cherokee. The front retains the requisite Jeep grille, though it's been narrowed a bit to make room for larger air intakes below. The Hellcat engine creates a lot of heat, so designers needed to make sure the beast has plenty of room to breathe. New LED fog lights have been integrated into lower air ducts. We still don't know many of the Trackhawk's finer details, like the exact price or release date. We do know that Jeep claims a 3.5-second 0-60 time, making it both the quickest-accelerating Hellcat-powered vehicle and one of the quickest-accelerating vehicles in the world. For comparison, BMW claims the X5 M will do 0-60 in 4 seconds flat. Related Video: Featured Gallery Grand Cherokee Trackhawk View 9 Photos Spy Photos Jeep SUV

Marchionne uses racial epithet to describe what must power future Alfa Romeo models

Wed, 16 Jan 2013

Sergio Marchionne and his Fiat empire have a lot riding on the US return of the Alfa Romeo brand. The endeavor has been in progress for what feels like a lifetime - certainly for as long as Fiat has had the Chrysler brand under its Italian wing.
It's not surprising that Fiat CEO Marchionne needs a perfect first Alfa to mark a return to America. And here's where things get dicey. Nobody would argue with Marchionne's insistence that Alfa Romeo's be powered by Italian engines - as Marchionne himself is quoted to have said at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, "There are some things that are well done in Italy."
If not what he said, then, it's how he said it that has eyebrows raised. "I cannot come up with a schlock product, I just won't. I won't put an American engine into that car. With all due respect to my American friends, it needs to be a wop engine." Wait, what's that?

Chrysler investing $20M in Toledo plant to support 9-speed auto production

Sun, 28 Apr 2013

In 2011, Chrysler announced a $72-million investment in its Toledo Machining Plant to modernize production of the eight- and nine-speed torque-converters for automatic transmissions made there. That upgrade work won't be finished until Q3 of this year, but Chrysler has already announced a further $19.6-million investment to increase production capacity for the nine-speeders.
The extra units will be necessary because the nine-speed transmission they'll be mated to is going into three popular models: it will debut on the 2014 Jeep Cherokee, then go into the Chrysler 200 and Dodge Dart. The company predicted that this year alone it would sell 200,000 units equipped with the nine-speed tranny, and it is spending some $374 million in addition to the investment in Toledo to upgrade production capacity for it.
The work attached to this new investment won't begin until Q3 of 2014, and it will be finished by the end of that year. There's a press release below with all the details.
