Well it is a sad day but time to part with the old Jeep. Just don't get the use out of her anymore. Bought 7 years ago and have put lots of time into her and now time to pass on to someone who will appreciate her. Was an ex-show jeep when wife and I built 7 years ago then became a daily driver for a while and has sat in garage since winter and just haven't done much with her anymore and is now suffering from neglect. Please take time to read entire listing and look at all pics. before bidding.

The Bad: Like I said jeep has sat in garage since winter and last few years and winters of daily driving has taken toll on old girl. Frame was repaired  some time ago and done right but has developed a couple new spots on side of frame size of silver dollar that will need attention. It is not going to break in half  by any means but will been repaired. I have included pics. of damage. Brakes are spongy and was low on fluid. Think wheel cylinder is leaking. Drove around town and steering is a little sloppier then I remember. Always a little sloppy as it is a Jeep.... Whole jeep could use a once over as it has sat around the last couple years and probably only had 500 miles put on it in that time. Great jeep but want to be honest with condition. It is also titled as a 96 ASM(assembled) Jeep due to the replacement fiberglass body. I have never had any issues with licensing or insuring but want you to be aware in case your state is different.. It is technically an 1980 narrow track CJ7 but Title shows 1996 and matches vin on firewall. It has Clear WV title Everything works on lights , heater wipers, etc. it but the radio quit. was coming and going and now wont come on.

The good: Well it is a Jeep!!! It is an all Fiberglass CJ 7. Only steel is the grill, Hood fenders, windshield frame and tub are fiberglass and good quality. Paint still decent but could use repaint.  My wife painted it 7 years ago and rhino lined entire interior at same time.. It has a mild built Chevy 350 Chevy 4 bolt main engine with approx. 50,000 miles on it. has small crane cam, Edelbrock intake and carb. Accel distributor and coil, headers, dual side pipes and lots of accessories. Transmission is an  Chrysler TF 999 automatic with an Advanced adapter  kit to mount to Chevy engine with approx. 20,000 miles on it. has Dana  300 transfer case with dana 30 front and AMC model 20 rear. All stock along with suspension. Newer Bf Goodrich 31"  MT tires. Also has spacers on front and rear to give it wider stance. We built it with intentions of riding back country roads and have never mudded it. It has power steering and still has manual brakes. It has had LOTS of new parts over the years and will give you a rundown.

In last 2-3 years or less. Bestop Top & doors, seats, rims, tires. Aluminum radiator, water pump starter Alternator, Optima battery, Tie rod ends ,ball joints, u joints, brakes, P/S pump, shocks, greasable shackles, roll bar, cover, bikini top, Halo head lights, amp, speakers, stereo, numerous accessories and chrome..... sure I am missing more. I have put a lot of time and money and just am where I don't have time to keep her at the level she should be or interest. Thought about just parting out but don't have heart to tear apart so Figured I would see if I could find a g0od home on here for her. Like I said I have had for 7+years and hard to part with. Thought about selling or trading for old hot rod or Big Harley or something interesting local but the wife doesn't want to see it running around town so here I am!!

Auction terms are as follows. Deposit due of $200. due in 24 hours. rest due in 7 days. You are responsible for pickup or shipping. Would recommend trailering as brakes are stopping but spongy. Up to you. She runs good but due for oil change and tune up and once over from sitting. If you are new to Ebay or got feedback under 10. Please shoot me a message to let me know you understand that if you bid and win you own it. Want this to sell first time with no BS. There is a reserve. Nothing close to what I have in it but fair I think. Bid to find out. I know value of it as I have owned many. Not looking to get rich and know she needs some loving but not giving it away. I can part out worse case and make what I need  to be happy. Thanks for taking time to read all this. I am honest with description and tried to give you all info. Feel free to ask questions  if you need more info.or if you need another pic. Clear title in my name and currently inspected till Nov. of this year. Happy to help. Please only Bid if serious and have CASH.  Have a great day!!

2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee probed by NHTSA for brake problems

Sun, Jun 7 2015

Remember how Toyota got in all kinds of trouble over unintended acceleration? Well, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is investigating Jeep over unintended braking. NHTSA has announced a probe of 20,000 Grand Cherokee SUVs from model year 2014. Nine complaints have been received, with owners alleging that their Jeeps have issued brake warnings or gone ahead and applied the brakes when no threat was presented. Each complaint alleges that the vehicles have exhibited this behavior repeatedly, leading to a "sudden reduction in vehicle speed in traffic." So basically, a system designed to prevent accidents could actually increase the odds of a collision happening. Speaking to the Associated Press, Jeep spokesperson Eric Mayne said owners whose vehicles are exhibiting this behavior should report to dealers, while adding that the automatic braking/adaptive cruise control systems can be deactivated. Related Video: Scroll down for the official bulletin on the investigation from NHTSA. Date Investigation Opened: JUN 01, 2015 Date Investigation Closed: Open NHTSA Action Number: PE15021 Component(s): FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE Manufacturer: Chrysler (FCA US LLC) SUMMARY: The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) has received nine complaints alleging inappropriate activations of the autonomous braking system in model year (MY) 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles. All nine reports alleged unexpected braking incidents preceded by collision imminent brake warnings and resulting in sudden reduction in vehicle speed in traffic. Two complaints reported autonomous braking incidents with no objects on the road resulting in rapid increase in brake force and anti-lock braking system (ABS) activations. The complaints alleged experiencing multiple events at different locations and road conditions. A Preliminary Evaluation has been opened to assess the frequency, scope and consequences of the alleged defect. The following VOQ numbers are associated with the issues discussed in this resume: 10543837, 10713629, 10690650, 10663320, 10630362, 10596913, 10533622, 10533524, 10651269.

Millionth Jeep Wrangler JK to roll off line this morning

Fri, 17 May 2013

According to a report on the Chrysler Communications Facebook page and one fairly grainy image of the production line, at around 11:00AM Eastern this morning, the one-millionth Jeep Wrangler JK will roll out of the company's Toledo assembly plant.
The third-generation or "JK" Jeep Wrangler has been around since the 2007 model year, and has obviously been more popular than ever. With a greater than ever number of trim levels, two-door and four-door Unlimited models and hardy off-roading Rubicon packages, the JK offers more to choose from than ever for those looking for something in a traditional Jeep. In fact, with the modern 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 powering it, the 2012 model year saw more than 140k Wrangers sold here in the US; the best-ever figure for the model.
With a model refresh due out for the Wrangler in 2015 (along with the likely addition of a diesel engine option), we expect that sales will continue to roll right along, too.

Behind the scenes of our subcompact crossover comparison

Tue, Oct 15 2019

The cameras had been set up for almost an hour, and now, the living room filled with the sweetness of freshly brewed blonde roast. The late-summer sun had just started peaking over towering maples. In a week the colors will start changing, the inevitable sign of the coming gray skies and snow. Half past eight, the editors arrived. The Scandinavian inspired house that served as the headquarters for our subcompact crossover comparison couldn’t accommodate all seven of us, so they had stayed at a turn of the century farmhouse down the road. While geese, chickens, cats and sheep made for an authentic Northern Michigan farm experience, ingredients for a good nightÂ’s sleep they were not. Within minutes Red Bulls cracked open and short, cocoa-colored mugs appeared, filled with a variety of caffeinated beverages.  “I thought we were gonna have fried eggs,” Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore said, smiling, before refusing a muffin. Associate Producer Alex Malburg ran from camera to camera, adjusting focus and exposure, trying to keep up with the ever-changing light, which poured into the room faster each minute.  “I was promised food. IÂ’m not filming.” Consumer Editor Jeremy KorzeniewskiÂ’s sarcasm thinly veiled his true feelings. To keep the group content I promised a craft-services buffet next time.  For the second time, we shot our comparison just outside of Traverse City. While we took advantage of a local off-road park for the first, this round proved a bit more tame, utilizing the hilly, winding, wine-country roads that define the region.  An air of nervousness could be detected. Only one person knew the outcome of our test, Senior Green Editor John Beltz Snyder. I found myself both impressed and surprised he had kept this secret overnight, though I came to find out later that he revealed the winner to Producer Amr Sayour on the drive to dinner the evening before.  The cameras started rolling, the audio recording, but the caffeine hadnÂ’t yet entered the bloodstream, with one exception. Associate Editor Joel Stocksdale sipped his lime green Mountain Dew. That seemed to be working, as he passionately laid out his argument for the Kia Soul and his preference for winter tires over all-wheel drive. From behind the camera I silently disagreed with him. “No one buys winter tires,” Jeremy argued. As we consumed more coffee, the sun came up, and so did the energy of the debate.
