1984 Jeep Scrambler CJ8
DETAILS: For auction is my unrestored, original, 1984 Jeep Scrambler CJ8 4X4 with 74,006 original miles. This Jeep is finished in original Sebring red with a gorgeous red interior. The stock white wheels, hardtop and trim on the doors really set off the color combination. This Jeep is equipped with the inline 6 cylinder motor (258ci), an automatic transmission, air conditioning, power steering and power brakes. This vehicle rides and drives extremely smooth and is very tight. The four wheel drive works as it should. The exterior has gorgeous original paint and decals. It shines very nice. As it is original and was driven, however slight, It does have a few chips and dents (mostly the spot welds from the factory-people familiar will know exactly what I mean). The bed is free of rust and is in very nice original condition. There is some very small bubbles appearing near the bottom of the round panel under the rear license plate (very slight, you might observe in the photographs).
The interior is amazing. The dash pad has no cracks, there are no rips in the seats, the door panels are pristine. The carpets are very nice. The gauges are awesome with just the slightest amount of patina. The only thing that I have found not original in the interior is the aftermarket radio that was installed some time ago. Everything works (yes the clock), minus the stated dinosaur "upgraded" radio.
The undercarriage shows like one (or better than one) with this amount of miles. It is very clear and shows a minimal amount of wear. There is no rust through. The engine compartment also shows very well with original stickers in place.
The vehicle also has its original dealer supplied documents included (owners manual, etc.)
See the photographs for further and inquire if additional are needed. The reserve amount will not be divulged but, it will be more than fair compared to some I have observed to sell in the last couple of weeks.
HISTORY: The parents of a very close friend of mine owned this vehicle clear back in the 90's. It was always garaged and I could use half of one hand if asked how many times I personally saw it out of their garage. I always told them that when they went to sell the vehicle to let me know. This happened in 2012. The vehicle was purchased and I did have some maintenance performed. This consisted of a new carb, fuel lines, valve cover (replaced the oem plastic one that warps with an aluminum) and gaskets, brake pads, all fluids, etc. I am ONLY selling this vehicle to generate capital for a business venture. Period. It really makes me sick.
PAYMENT: There is a $500.00 deposit due within 24 hours of the conclusion of the auction with the remaining balance due, in full, within seven days of the conclusion of the auction. I will accept payment by means of cash (if picking up in person), bank cashier's check, bank transfer, personal check, etc. NOTE: This vehicle WILL NOT leave my premises prior to your funds clearing my financial institution (usually seven to ten business days). And NO, I will not take a check from overseas and send you cash back. LOL. Good one.
SHIPPING: This is the responsibility of the purchaser. I will aid in anyway that I can but, I am not responsible for the vehicle once it leaves my possession. I can be available for pickup from a transportation company, just ask. Also, the purchaser may pick the vehicle up at my residence.
CLOSING: I challenge you to find a better survivor Jeep Scrambler. As nice of an original vehicle that this is, it still is a 29 year old Jeep. Therefore, there is no warranty expressed or implied. Please contact me if any additional photographs are needed. I will not take any trades (see above for reason of sale). If I have failed to list anything necessary, do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you and good luck in the auction.

Autoblog's Editors' Picks: Our complete list of the best new vehicles
Mon, May 13 2024It's not easy to earn an “EditorsÂ’ Picks” at Autoblog as part of the rating and review process that every new vehicle goes through. Our editors have been at it a long time, which means weÂ’ve driven and reviewed virtually every new car you can go buy on the dealer lot. There are disagreements, of course, and all vehicles have their strengths and weaknesses, but this list features what we think are the best new vehicles chosen by Autoblog editors. We started this formal review process back in 2018, so there's quite of few of them now. So what does it mean to be an EditorsÂ’ Pick? In short, it means itÂ’s a car that we can highly recommend purchasing. There may be one, multiple, or even zero vehicles in any given segment that we give the green light to. What really matters is that itÂ’s a vehicle that weÂ’d tell a friend or family member to go buy if theyÂ’re considering it, because itÂ’s a very good car. The best way to use this list is is with the navigation links below. Click on a segment, and you'll quickly arrive at the top rated pickup truck or SUV, for example. Use the back button to return to these links and search in another segment, like sedans. If youÂ’ve been keeping up with our monthly series of the latest vehicles to earn EditorsÂ’ Pick status, youÂ’re likely going to be familiar with this list already. If not, welcome to the complete list that weÂ’ll be keeping updated as vehicles enter (and others perhaps exit) the good graces of our editorial team. We rate a new car — giving it a numerical score out of 10 — every time thereÂ’s a significant refresh or if it happens to be an all-new model. Any given vehicle may be impressive on a first drive, but we wait until itÂ’s in the hands of our editors to put it through the same type of testing as every other vehicle that rolls through our test fleet before giving it the EditorsÂ’ Pick badge. This ensures consistency and allows more voices to be heard on each individual model. And just so you donÂ’t think weÂ’ve skipped trims or variants of a model, we hand out the EditorsÂ’ Pick based on the overarching model to keep things consistent. So, when you read that the 3 Series is an EditorsÂ’ Pick, yes, that includes the 330i to the M3 and all the variants in between. If thereÂ’s a particular version of that car we vehemently disagree with, we make sure to call that out.

Chrysler extending production of current Dodge Avenger, Jeep Wrangler, Grand Caravan
Wed, 24 Jul 2013Are you hesitant to pull the trigger on a brand new Dodge Avenger in hopes that a new one will be coming? Well, don't hold your breath. According to The Detroit News, Chrysler will be extending production of the current Avenger sedan through the end of 2015.
Originally, we heard that the company would kill the Avenger to better focus its midsize sedan efforts on the Chrysler 200 replacement. But then new reports stated there would indeed be an Avenger successor, and that we could see it as early as next January. This Detroit News report cites supplier sources confirming the extension of Avenger production, though Chrysler has not released an official statement on the matter.
These same suppliers say that the current Jeep Wrangler will live on through mid-2018 - that's right, another five years. The Detroit News reports that a replacement for the iconic, go-anywhere Jeep was due in mid-2016.
