1984 Jeep Cj 8 Scrambler 2 Owner Very Original Barn Find on 2040-cars

1984 CJ 8 Scrambler in very good condition for a mostly original 30 year old Jeep. Has been painted once approx. 12 years ago but other than that only minor replacement parts have been changed. Drive train has never been opened up except for normal oil changes and such. 258 6 cylinder runs good after it warms up. Shifts smoothly and 4 wheel drive works as it should with no strange noises. Minimal rust on body as seen in photos. This 2 owner CJ 8 has been a Louisiana Jeep it's entire life and the frame and underside show it. IT IS NOT RUST FREE but it is in very good condition as compared to mosts Jeeps this age. Parts I can see that have been changed are: shocks, front sway bar links, radio, muffler and tail pipe, tires etc. This Jeep would be an outstanding candidate for restoration to original condition because it is all there and has never been gutted like most CJ's you see. I bought this Jeep to lift, put on big tires and make a mud buggy/rock crawler out of but it is too complete/original for that. Someone needs to buy it for an excellent restoration project. Coming off press previews of the 2013 Land Rover Range Rover and the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee that involved some heavy-duty off-road rock climbing, I'm simply amazed at the capabilities that these vehicles possess. But even more impressive (or troubling depending on your perspective) is the relative ease with which you can operate these vehicles in seemingly impossible terrain.

Thu, 24 Apr 2014The Jeep Cherokee Dakar concept showed off at the 2014 Easter Jeep Safari made a lot of online friends, even the Cherokee naysayers assenting that there's a monster Jeep underneath the Cherokee's skin if you're willing to go in and get it. But after reading Road & Track's write-up of what went into creating the Dakar, particularly its lift, you'll understand why you'll probably never see the components for it in the Jeep Performance Parts catalog.
The concept's press release mentions a "prototype Jeep Performance Parts lift kit, and additional suspension modifications." The short-story explanation is that the front struts on the standard Cherokee weren't engineered to accept any amount of lift, so the long story begins with the phrase, "an entirely new suspension." Jeep Renegade gets Riptide and Frostbite customs at SEMA
Wed, 05 Nov 2014The cute little Jeep Renegade isn't even on sale yet, but here at SEMA, the Mopar folks are giving us a taste of what's possible for the little CUV in the big wide world of customization. Part of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles' massive SEMA spread, the Renegade shows up in fresh Riptide and and Frostbite guises.
First up, the Riptide arrives in Vibrance Grandeur Blue with black wheels and a big ol' Jeep Performance Parts logo on the rear pillar. There are a few black accents elsewhere on the exterior, and a surfboard carrier rides up on the roof. The blue color scheme also finds its way inside the Renegade, on the instrument cluster and side panels, with contrasting white accents.
By contrast, the Frostbite Renegade reverses the Riptide's color scheme, with white being the main paint of choice, with blue accents abound. And inside, Katzkin seats wear blue upholstery. The Frostbite is a pretty functional creation, as well, with a Mopar ski/snowboard roof rack and a Jeep Performance Parts rock rail guard.
