1984 Jeep CJ 7. Jeep had a light slow side roll over once and landed on all 4 tires. I bought the Jeep this way and will restore it if it doesn't sell. I will try to represent Jeep as honest as possible, but keep in mind it will need some work before it is road worthy. It is a project, but well worth it. 258 6 cylinder with 4 speed. Still starts runs and drives great and everything is operational including 4 wheel drive. Everything works as it should including the gauges. Has lockouts on front end. Very clean undercarriage. 141,397 miles. Power steering and brakes. Best top soft top and doors were not damaged in roll over and are in very good shape with no tears and clear windows. No hardtop, black soft top and soft doors only, top of doors can be removed so you can have half doors. Factory light brown high back bucket seats with Best top replacement seat covers are in very good shape with no tears or wear marks, back seat is good also. Factory aluminum side trim, peeling red paint on them, and factory steps. Detachable faceplate Sony CD player with external port. Locking hood lock, locking glove box and locking gas cap, have keys for all those locks. Swing out spare tire carrier. Has tailgate with embossed Jeep logo. Renegade steering wheel. Jeep has very minimal surface rust with solid body, floors and frame. Factory original paint on interior floor boards, firewall and inner fenders, and underneath fenders and undercarriage. Factory original unmodified motor and drive train. Missing some smog equipment but this does not affect the way it runs. Starts runs and drives excellent. Brakes work like new. It will probably need a new key ignition switch as I noticed you can start it without the key and you can remove the key once it's started, tumblers probably worn out. Spent most its life in Texas and Virginia. The guy I bought it from owned it for over 10 years.Well maintained and garaged most it's life. I recently purchased it as a project, but like most, I have too many projects so I thought I'd offer it for sale before I start working on it.  4 inch body lift with decent 32" B F Goodrich All Terrain TA tires and painted silver factory Jeep wheels. Over $ 683.00 spent on brakes before accident including new master cylinder, 2 new front brake calipers and pads,  2 new front brake lines and bleed entire brake system. I have receipt from mechanics shop for brake work. Original color on Jeep was light almond as seen on the firewall,  interior floor boards and undercarriage. Most the damage was done to the front fenders, hood and windshield frame and cowl, and there are some wrinkles on sides of body that will need to be straightened out. The back of the jeep has minor damage.  It will need need front bumper, 2 front fenders, hood, hood hinges and locks, windshield and windshield frame, windshield hinges, some cowl repair, new passenger mirror, 4 fender flares although I think the 2 rear flares can be repaired,  and misc body work and paint. The windshield frame is bent back and there is a 2" x 4" holding the windshield frame forward. I did this so I could show the top. Could be a fun inexpensive project. There appears to be no frame damage, again this was a very light slow rollover. Clean and clear Nebraska title in my name. Clean Car Fax. Too good of a Jeep to part out. Very good value for the money. No leaks and does not smoke. I have right and left good used fiberglass front fenders and a steel hood that could be purchased for an additional cost. These items are not included in the sale price of this Jeep. I reserve the right to end auction early as it is for sale locally as well. I will try to help to arrange shipping if needed but shipping will be the buyers expense in addition to vehicle cost. If you have any questions or need more detailed pictures please let me know. You are more than welcome to inspect in person and I would encourage that. It will be sold as is with no warranty. These CJs are getting harder to find in original condition with little to no rust. Thank you for your interest.

Jeep follows up Super Bowl spot with call to help the USO

Tue, 05 Feb 2013

Once again, Chrysler had one of the most talked about Super Bowl commercials with its two-minute Whole Again Jeep spot, which was used to highlight its Operation SAFE Return program for US military personnel returning home from active duty. As part of this campaign, Jeep announced today that it will be donating up to $300,000 to the United Services Organizations (USO), and you can help.
Simply tweet using the #joinOSR hashtag on Twitter, visit the Yahoo! homepage or go to the Jeep Operation SAFE Return website, and Jeep will donate $1 to a fund that provides returning troops things like employment assistance and incentives to buy new vehicles. Jeep is also donating to this charity to the tune of $250 for each Jeep Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited (including the Freedom Edition model) and Jeep Patriot Freedom Edition model sold.

NHTSA upgrading Jeep Grand Cherokee, Dodge Durango headliner fire probe

Wed, 15 Jan 2014

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation into headliner fires experienced by a small number of Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango owners has been upgraded to an engineering analysis, the step before the initiation of a recall. In August last year the investigation began with 146,000 Grand Cherokees from 2012 after three complaints were received, but a report on Edmunds says it has been expanded to include 593,299 vehicles covering the 2011-2013 model years for the Jeep and the Dodge Durango, which uses the same headliner assembly, because of possibly 52 incidents of fire.
In some of those incidents drivers have reported a burning odor, smoke or open flames that were contained to the headliner or migrated to another area of the passenger compartment. The culprit has apparently been found: NHTSA blaming an electrical short in the sun visor vanity light wiring, which is routed under the headliner and held in place by three screws. Chrysler began its own probe into the issue when it was first reported and is still looking into the situation while, "fully supporting the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's investigation."

Jeep Renegade sales being held due to powertrain issue [UPDATE]

Wed, May 20 2015

UPDATE: An unnamed FCA US source has clarified to Automotive News that while there is a software issue, it does not concern the transmission. The Jeep Renegade appears to be facing early software problems that are similar to the ones at the introduction of the Cherokee a few years ago. The issue is keeping the brand's latest compact crossover away from dealers until the situation can be resolved. The fault reportedly deals with the software controlling the Renegade's nine-speed automatic transmission. FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne briefly talked about what was happening in an interview with Automotive News. "I'm having a very bad engineering day," he said. "It's a combination of attributes of that vehicle that is making my life horrible." The company boss predicted at the longest it could take until mid-June to fix things. Through April, Jeep has sold 5,157 Renegades, including 4,214 of them in that month alone. Autoblog reached out to an FCA US spokesperson to learn more about the software problem, but the company had no comment. Getting the software right to control the nine-speed automatic plagued development of the Cherokee. The issues delayed the model's launch in 2013, and the company was still releasing improvements for some vehicles this year.
