You are bidding on one sweet 84 cj7. Complete frame off restoration. I started to the bare frame. Had the frame sand blasted and powder coated. Not painted. Powder coated. All fiberflass tub and fenders. New steel windshied frame. Every nut and bolt including the brake lines are stainless steel. The engine is a aluminum  head ZZ4 crate engine right from GM. 355hp with 410ftlbs of torque. Automatic transmission built and purchased from B&M. Turbo 350. Rear axles upgraded to solid axles. Amc 20 with 410 gears with a auburn differential. Front is 410 gears with a detroit soft locker diff. Dana 300 transfer case with the twin stick shifter. Ability to use two wheel drive low lock if needed. Brand new Corbeau seats front and rear. Custom roll cage. Cage is actually tied into the frame. Not just for looks. Even though it looks awesome. Ghost flames on the hood for that extra touch. 9,000lb winch. Custom rear chrome swing away rear bumper. Sky Jacker  6" lift. 33x12.50x15 inch tires. The actual Jeep frame has 48,000 miles on it. The restoration has 10,000 miles on it. Took me 3 years to complete. I have literaly $40,000 into this build alone. Not including the labor I put in. Never ever has seen snow, or mud. The worst it has ever seen is a little sand at silver lake in upper michigan. My friends call it a p.p. Pavement pounder. If you are looking for one of the sharpest and badest Jeeps around this one is for you. If you dont want people telling you what a nice jeep you have or conversations at the gas station. Then this one is not for you. If you have any questions just let me know. There is far more I could be putting on here. But I think the pictures will tell the story. Reason for selling. Teenager needs a car. Not to practicle for new driver.

100,000 Jeep Cherokee models subject to further 9-speed recalibration

Thu, 29 May 2014

It seems that the software problems with the nine-speed automatic gearbox in the Jeep Cherokee continue to mount. The programming already caused multiple development delays and even postponed the Cherokee's market launch by roughly two months. Now, Jeep has issued another recalibration to hopefully assuage unhappy drivers.
According to Automotive News, this reflash for the allegedly jerky transmission covers over 100,000 Cherokees built before May 5, but it's not technically a recall. If owners are having problems and complain to the dealer, they get the new software. Otherwise, they continue with the current version. New vehicles on dealer lots also receive the latest revision to the programming. It takes only around five minutes to install, but technicians need to take the Cherokee on a test drive to adapt the gearbox to the changes.
The Cherokee's transmission software has been problematic practically since the beginning. The Jeep plant in Toledo, OH, briefly idled its second-shift workers last year to take care of the issue. Since the launch issues for the crossover, demand has been strong. Jeep added another 1,000 temporary workers to the Toledo factory to keep up, and sales were on par with the Wrangler in just its first two months.

2014 Jeep Cherokee marketing launches with 'Built Free' commercial

Mon, 28 Oct 2013

Now that the 2014 Cherokee is finally on its way to dealerships, Jeep is starting its marketing blitz for its new crossover, beginning with this 60-second TV spot, called Built Free, that premieres today. Set to a Bob Dylan recording, the ad spot discusses something we can all relate to - the feeling of being too busy and too cooped up with everyday tasks to really get out there and explore the world. But as Jeep says in the commercial, "You're still here. And you're still you. The horizons haven't gone anywhere."
Autoblog spoke to Kim Adams-House, head of marketing for the Jeep brand, who explained that this Built Free spot is "an anthemic piece" that "sparks the conversation" for the new Cherokee. As you'll notice, none of the new Jeep's features - its off-road systems, nine-speed automatic transmission, etc. - are mentioned in the ad, but Adams-House says that future marketing "will speak to more" of the CUV's highlights. Following this 60-second spot, 30-second commercials will launch that talk about some of the specific product features.
When asked if the Built Free campaign will include any throwbacks to the original Cherokee, Adams-House told Autoblog that while "we love that vehicle," the new spots are intended to carve out "a unique space for Cherokee in our product portfolio and marketplace." On that same note, don't expect any other Jeep vehicles to get the Built Free treatment. Adams-House said that while this ad "does resonate overall with the brand," it is solely intended to promote the new Cherokee.

Dirt Every Day tries to find the best 4x4 for under $4k

Mon, 25 Aug 2014

If you want to build a cheap truck that can still do dirty deeds off the beaten path, it's best to start with solid axles and a solid V8 engine. That sums up the lessons learned after watching the 2014 Cheap Truck Challenge from the Dirt Every Day video crew, who took to the deserts and surrounding areas near Reno, NV, in an attempt to find the best 4x4 for under $4,000. Fortunately for us, the whole sordid journey was captured on video.
This isn't the first time the boys from DED filmed a Cheap Truck Challenge, and this year's festivities pitted together a 1993 Chevy S10 pickup, a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee and a 1975 International truck in a series of challenges ranging from donuts to drag races, with plenty of hill-climbing and rock-crawling action in between. We don't want to spoil all the fun, but suffice it to say one competitor was found to be lacking while the other two performed (mostly) well. See for yourself in the video above.
