We are re-listing this jeep due to a website mistake. This is a 100% custom CJ5. I bought this jeep from a kid about six months ago and tore a ligament in my knee. I am now unable to drive this vehicle any longer. The person I bought this from was a fabractor; he took a CJ5 tub, stripped all the metal off and put 18 gage steel all around. He also re-shaped the doors to make it look like a CJ7 BUT ITS NOT!!!! Its a CJ5. A CJ5 soft top will fit on this car. CJ7 doors overlap by an inch. The kid also moved the front axles about 2 inches foward, and the rear axles 2 inches back to make the jeep more stable when driving it. It has a dana 60 in the back, and a dana 40 in front. Both axles are out of a 72 blaser and are completly redone. Four wheel disk brakes all around. There is a spring over axle lift which is 5 inches. It has 35 inch tires, which are brand new no wear. There is a new alternator, starter, seliond, new battery, and all new wiring. There are led lights in the back of the vehicle. All gages work within the car, and has a 360 v8 engine and a weber 650 carburetor in it. This jeep goes 75 miles an hour on the highway without a wobble. I was using this car as my daily driver until I hurt my knee. It has a twin stick dana transfer case. It is also a 3 speed mannual. The  paint job is gun metallic gray. There is a full roll cage throughout the vehicle. There are blue and black summit racing seats. There is full power steering. This is an AWESOME jeep. It NEEDS NOTHING! Doesn't have doors, heat, or top. I reserve the right to end the auction early. This vechicle is being sold as is and there is no warranty. Please do not bid if you do not have the funds. My cell number is listed for any questions (516)851-7697.

P.S. Forgot to mention flow master exhaust. All lines are braided lines.

‘Star Trek’ actor's family settles with Fiat Chrysler over his death

Fri, Mar 23 2018

LOS ANGELES — The family of late "Star Trek" actor Anton Yelchin has settled a wrongful death lawsuit with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV over the rollaway crash of a Jeep Grand Cherokee that killed the up-and-coming actor almost two years ago. Terms of the settlement, which was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Tuesday, were not disclosed. The lawsuit filed by Yelchin's parents, celebrated Russian figure skaters Victor and Irina Yelchin, is believed to be the first wrongful death complaint filed over Fiat Chrysler's April 2016 recall of more than 1.1 million vehicles due to a rollaway risk. Yelchin, 27, best known for playing navigator Pavel Chekov in the "Star Trek" movie reboot, died in June 2016 when his 2015 Grand Cherokee rolled backward in the steep driveway of his Los Angeles home, pinning the actor against a brick wall and fence. Yelchin's final role was in the indie film "Thoroughbreds," which was released this month. In a statement, Fiat Chrysler said on Thursday the company is "pleased that we've reached an amicable resolution in this matter. ... We continue to extend our deepest sympathies to the Yelchin family for their tragic loss." Messages left with Yelchin family attorney Gary Dordick seeking comment were not immediately returned. The lawsuit also accused Fiat Chrysler of negligence, product liability and breach of warranty. Dordick said when he filed the lawsuit that Fiat Chrysler had mailed a recall letter to Yelchin that was received seven days after his death. Final recall notices were sent during that time, but interim notices had been mailed at least 17 days before Yelchin's accident, Fiat Chrysler said. At the time of Yelchin's death, the rollaway problem had been tied to at least 68 injuries, 266 crashes and 308 reports of property damage. Drivers complained they would exit vehicles with the engine running falsely believing the vehicle was in park. Fiat Chrysler furnished a software upgrade to the affected 2014-2015 model year Jeep Grand Cherokee sport utility vehicle as well as 2012-2014 Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300 sedans.Reporting by Eric KelseyRelated Video:

This American Life spends a week selling Jeeps in Long Island

Thu, 19 Dec 2013

So you think you know car dealers? Well, maybe you do, but This American Life spent a month at Town and Country Jeep Chrysler Doge Ram in Long Island to give us a behind-the-scenes look (or listen, since it's a radio program) at what it's like to be a car dealer.
Yes, there's a lot of swearing in thick New York accents, frustration, confusion, and generally it's a madhouse at the dealership. But that's understandable when the sales staff has to sell 129 vehicles in October in order to get an $85,000 manufacturer bonus - with several other Jeep dealerships within a 10-mile radius.
The episode, 129 Cars, is worth a listen, but make sure you have 71 minutes to spare if you want to get through it in one sitting. Head here for the unedited version or here for the bleeped version (which is 58 minutes long).

This is the face of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL

Tue, Oct 18 2016

These images come from a purported Jeep dealer meeting and show a poster detailing the brand's future lineup. Along with a look at the range-topping Grand Wagoneer, we can see the next-generation Wrangler, code-named JL, and its updated design front and rear. To the surprise of no one, the Wrangler will keep its seven-slot grille and round headlights. To those it adds some modern updates, like the LED light bars on the leading edge of the front fenders. (Given the 2017 LED headlight upgrade, we can bet the low- and high-beams also will use LED tech.) The taillights get an X design like those on the Renegade crossover. The overall shape seems to be a bit more tapered and smoothed, which is most evident in the shape of the sides of the windshield. We know from spy photos that the windshield has been laid back more, likely leading to improved aerodynamics and reduced fuel consumption. As a refresher, we expect the 2018 Wrangler to again come in two-door and Unlimited four-door models. It will have at least one gas engine, including a new turbocharged Hurricane four-cylinder, as well as a diesel option. Most if not all of the engines will be paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission, and a manual is likely to be retained on at least some models. A pickup version has also been confirmed. The new Wrangler is likely to be shown in early 2017, possibly at the Detroit auto show in January.
