2010 Jaguar XK Coupe - Portfolio Edition
What an incredible car. This Jaguar is in immaculate condition inside and out! With no dents or dings, it looks
almost new. The interior is pristine, with supple leather throughout. The Portfolio Edition adds the lovely
contrast stitching.
Aside from the normal options, this Jag stands apart with heated seats, a heated steering wheel, and (just in time
for summer) AIR CONDITIONED SEATS. Yes, imagine climbing into this black interior in August, and having chilled air
coming from the AC vents AND from the perforated leather seats! Once you have experienced this, you'll never know
how you lived without it!
The 5 liter V8 engine is as smooth as butter. Really really FAST butter. 365 horsepower! The nice thing about the
performance of the Jaguar is that as civilized as it is in the city, when you open up the engine, it takes off like
a rocket. This has the best balance of performance and luxury of any car I've driven.
The car truly looks amazing. It has always been garaged. You can tell that the paint has been well-cared for and
protected by regular waxing. There are no chips in the paint and no chips in any of the glass. The bumpers are
flawless. The 20" Portfolio Edition wheels are clean, and there is plenty of tread left on the tires. The LED lamps
are bright, and all of the glass looks brand-new... no fading at all.
The 6-speed transmission shifts smoothly, and the rotary shifter is a blast to use. You can also shift gears
manually with the steering wheel paddles. The keyless ignition fires right up, and the exhaust rumble sounds
amazing.
Speaking of sounds, the premium Bowers and Wilkins stereo system will blow you away, with 525 watts of clean power.
You'll hear nuances to songs that you've listened to for years, with crisp, clear music surrounding you.
There are too many options to list! Turn signal in mirrors, seats that adjust any which way, nav system, bluetooth,
interior air filtration, dual zone climate control, steering wheel controls for transmission, cruise and audio,
remote transmitter for garage doors, speed-proportional power steering, reverse tilt mirrors, remote keyless power
locks, and many, many more.

The diesel premium in our Jaguar XE quickly pays for itself
Thu, May 25 2017Our long-term 2017 Jaguar XE 20d AWD recently returned from a 2,000-mile road trip. My wife and I took a few days to visit her family in Auburn, Alabama, and it was the first real chance anyone has had to stretch the Jaguar's legs outside of Michigan. It was also a good opportunity to see what sort of fuel economy I could wring out of the XE's 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel. The diesel engine was the main reason I chose it over our equally lovely long-term 2017 Audi A4. For me, chasing fuel economy is a great way to stay focused on the road. The XE 20d AWD is rated at 30 city/40 highway and 34 combined. The drive to and from Auburn is almost entirely highway, so I knew matching the highway rating would be easy enough. The XE has a 14.8 gallon tank, so I was looking at a minimum of 600 miles per tank and four fills for the trip, counting the initial pre-departure fill. I had two main concerns: first, this was a new route, so I didn't know how available diesel would be along I-75; second, crossing the Appalachian Mountains was going to severely cut into my overall average. The first worry turned out to be a nonissue, especially as we went further south. Not once was I forced to go from station to station looking for a lone green-handled pump. People in the South love their Cummins, Powerstroke, and Duramax-powered trucks, meaning diesel pumps were plentiful. Rolling up in a Jaguar does garner attention, though. An older gentleman even asked if I knew that I was putting diesel in the car. It seems he didn't have much faith in my reading comprehension skills. The mountains were more of a problem. There was literally no getting around them, but were west of the highest parts, so it could have been worse. The indicated fuel economy dropped by 4 mpg on the way up, from 47 mpg to 43. Still, I managed more than 650 miles from a tank, though I was starting to push my luck. We filled up for the short final leg. By the time we rolled into Auburn, the display indicated 44 mpg – pretty damn good, I'd say. It held there for the entire trip. Calculating the actual mileage revealed the computer was generous by 2 mpg, but that's par for the course. Few automakers display precise numbers. The relative ease of getting this sort of fuel economy was complemented by the price of diesel. At each one of my four stops, diesel cost less than premium, the required fuel in all of the XE's gasoline engines. According to AAA, the same is true nationwide.
Jaguar Land Rover reveals Bond cars [w/video]
Tue, Sep 15 2015We interrupt your regularly scheduled Frankfurt Motor Show coverage to bring you something far cooler. Jaguar Land Rover has officially introduced the cars it's lending to the latest James Bond film, Spectre. There's not much that wasn't previously covered as part JLR's February 2015 release, although there are some comments from the stars, as well as a pair of behind-the-scenes videos. At the very forefront of the British brand's charge is the Jaguar C-X75, the stillborn concept that set hearts aflutter with its handsome looks and its innovative turbine-powered drivetrain. According to Jaguar Land Rover, the orange supercar will be piloted by baddie Dave Bautista as part of an enormous chase scene throughout Rome. Meanwhile, Eve Moneypenny, played by Naomie Harris in her second Bond flick, will pilot the blacked-out Defender. For those that remember Skyfall, Miss Moneypenny spent most of the film's pre-title sequence tearing through Istanbul, Turkey behind the wheel of a silver Defender. Joining the Defender is the most powerful vehicle Land Rover has ever produced. The new Range Rover Sport SVR will show up wearing a menacing black paint job and featuring some extra lighting on both its roof and in its bumper. It's not clear who will be driving the 550-horsepower SVR, but in the photos released by JLR, it's shown trading places with a pair of Defenders as they rampage through the Austrian snow. Check out the photos of the vehicles below. You'll find both studio stuff and some set photos. There's also a full press release from JLR, as well as a pair of behind-the-scenes videos. Weekly Recap: The divergent paths of Tesla and Fisker
Sat, 02 Aug 2014
There's no doubt that Tesla is downshifting while Fisker has been grinding its gears. But it wasn't always that way.
In the wake of Tesla's recent success, it's easy to forget that there were once two California electric carmakers with bright futures.
