Salida, California, United States

I am selling my Jaguar XK8 convertible.
This is a beautiful car but it will not start due to one simple and easy fix...According to my mechanic, the security system in the key has become deprogrammed so it will not start. It needs to be taken to a Jag dealer ship to be reprogrammed. I believe this cost around 200.00
I have owned this car for many years, drove it daily and I never have had any issues at all. It has ran great! This last winter I did not drive it at all, the battery died which led to it being deprogrammed.
There are no known mechanical issues at all. Last time I drove the car (Oct) it ran wonderfully.
The engine alone is worth over 2500.00 It has very low miles for this year. It's about 90,000 miles The engine is superb, may consider selling it separately but prefer to just sell the whole car.
Take it, have it programmed and have an amazing summer car or part it out and make money.

Kelly Bluebook value of this car in this condition is over $5,000 so you are getting a very good deal.

This is my personal and private phone number and is to be used for text only. Under no circumstances are you to contact me about anything other then buying this car. That includes any offers to sell it for me. This number is on the FTC no call list and any call I consider spam will be reported to the FTC Please only real callers with true intentions of buying text this number. (209)324 - two two 8 five.

Oh and no low ball offers. Please do not waste my time.

Car is located at my home in Salida Ca. Cash deal only. No checks, no money orders and "handlers" We must meet face to face.

CMC to produce limited run of Callum's Jaguar Mark 2 [w/video]

Thu, 04 Sep 2014

We were a more than a little jealous when designer Ian Callum revealed his Jaguar Mark 2 restomod that he commissioned from Classic Motor Cars. It turns out that we weren't the only ones that dug it - the reaction was so great that CMC got Callum's permission to create a limited run of them for customers. Although, with prices quoted between £350,000 and £375,000 ($572,000 - $613,000), we doubt Ian needs to worry about seeing a copy of his creation pass him too soon.
"Within hours we had received calls from people all over the globe asking if they could buy one," said Peter Neumark, Chairman of CMC in the latest announcement. The reaction came as a surprise to Callum, who said he designed the car entirely to his own specifications and actually wasn't sure if people would like it.
Among Callum's many changes are new bumpers, wider front fenders with functional louvers and less chrome trim. Under the hood is a 4.3-liter six-cylinder fitted with two SU carbs putting out around 260 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. It should be a much better driver too, with a completely re-engineered independent rear suspension, adjustable dampers at all four corners, improved brakes and a new rack and pinion steering system designed by CMC with electric assist.

Jaguar to finish building six remaining Lightweight E-Types

Thu, 15 May 2014

Back in February of 1963, Jaguar set about making a small run of lightweight E-Types. It recrafted the bodywork out of aluminum, shoehorned in a 3.8-liter straight-six with an aluminum block, stripped out the interior, removed the chrome trim and fitted lighter-weight side windows. The result was a 250-pound reduction in curb weight and a commensurate increase in performance, especially evident on the race track. The company originally set about building 18 examples, but only managed 12. The remaining six were allocated chassis numbers, but were never built. That is, until now.
Fifty years since the last of the original 12 lightweight E-Types were completed, Jaguar has announced that it is preparing to resume production and complete the final six examples. The company has assigned its top craftsmen to the job, who will build the half-dozen continuation Lightweights to the same exact specifications as the original dozen. Former sister-company and perennial arch-rival Aston Martin undertook a similar task (or at least authorized Zagato to do so) when it sanctioned four continuation examples of the original DB4 GT Zagato based on original chassis numbers in 1988, and another two based on original body shells and stock DB4 chassis in 1992.
Jaguar has not yet announced pricing and availability for the continuation Lightweights, but the first old-is-new example is set to debut this summer, whereupon Coventry will release further details. You can bet, though, that each one will be snapped up rather quick at just about any price the British automaker cares to put on them.

Jaguar C-X17 gets liquid metal finish for Dubai show [w/poll]

Sat, 09 Nov 2013

We thought the C-X17 concept looked pretty good when Jaguar unveiled it in Frankfurt a couple of months ago. But that shade of blue, while nice enough, made it look like it shared more than a similar name with the Mazda CX-7. No, what a Jaguar needs is a more luxurious paint job than electric blue. And that's just what the British automaker has given its crossover concept in time for the Dubai Motor Show this week.
What we have here is the same C-X17, but repainted in what Jaguar calls "a lustrous Liquid Aluminum liquid metal finish," and we have but to agree. What do you think? Scope it out in the fresh batch of high-res images above and cast your vote in the poll below.
