1960 Jaguar MK 2 Sedan 3.8 L Engine with Manual Transmission fitted with Overdrive = 7th 3.8 liter engined MK2 (Exported to the USA), Matching Numbers
This car was purchased from an elderly lady in California (it was her husbands car who passed away 15 years ago) I had the car shipped back to Ohio were it has sat in my garage for the past 6 months. I bought the car as a project car and it is being sold as a project car.....I have done very little to the car during that time and its occupying valuable garage space so its time to let it go to someone who has the time to complete a restoration
The car is very solid and straight with good door and panel gaps
The chrome is in very good condition....little to no pitting . The rear bumper has damage on the passenger side and the rear overriders are missing, there are signs of some local repairs to the car on the rear passenger side corner ....the repair looks good and is hardly noticeable
The engine needs some attention it has a knocking noise...probably need a complete rebuild?
The underside is very solid
The glass is scratch free
The interior is presentable without tares but not factory original
Tires are old but in fairly good condition
Wood is okay but needs refinishing
The paint is oxidized ...I have spent quite a lot of hours restoring the paintwork along the entire length of the drives side as you can see the paintwork now looks quite shinny....but the passenger side remains unrestored
As I said what I am selling is a non-running project car with great potential....I have never had it running but have had the engine turning over.
What makes this car unique is that it is the 7th 3.8l liter engined MK2 (Exported to the USA)
It is also a numbers matching car.....it is hard to find a restoration project that has not been canibalized:
Car number: S001121
Body number: 210301
Engine number: LA 1007 -8
Transmission number: GBN 29998 - JS
Payment terms: $500 deposit within 48 hrs of close of auction via Paypal. Balance to be paid in full within 7 days from close of auction
Payment terms are not negotiable...please do not bid if you do not like my payment terms

Hot Rod Garage series premieres with 700-hp big-block Jaguar XJ
Fri, 23 May 2014Roadkill hosts Mike Finnegan and David Freiburger have broken up - kinda - to spin off a new show, Hot Rod Garage, that mostly gives up the driveway and parking lot wrench work for the confines of a garage. We say kinda because while Finnegan is the primary host for Hot Rod Garage, Freiburger plays guest host and the new show starts off by wrenching on the Roadkill Draguar project car.
What's the Draguar? It's a 1974 Jaguar XJ12 that's about to be force-fed a 383-cubic-inch Chevrolet long-block engine with tidbits like Holley carbs, a Weiand 6-71 roots blower and a "custom WillBlow transmission," all good for about 700 horsepower. After that Finnegan gets into swapping parts on his wife's El Camino and some TIG welding lessons.
You can check out the first episode below. And in case you're worried, no, Roadkill isn't going away.
Jaguar Project 7 concept is an F-Type in a D-Type mold [w/video]
Wed, 10 Jul 2013In addition to the XJR, XFR-S and XKR-S GT models Jaguar is bringing to the Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend, the manufacturer announced that the F-Type-based, D-Type-inspired Project 7 design study will make its "dynamic" debut at the festival, with driving duties assigned to Mike Cross, Jaguar's chief engineer of vehicle integrity. Here's the cool part: With Jaguar's Director of Design, Ian Callum, leading the team responsible for Project 7, it went from the drawing board to track testing in only four months, Jaguar states, with a claimed 0-60 time of 4.1 seconds and top speed of 186 miles per hour.
Project 7, which was named in honor of Jaguar's seven wins at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, will be making runs up the hill at Goodwood over all three days of the festival, which starts at the Goodwood House in West Sussex, England, this Friday.
Far from a fragile concept car, Jaguar says, the single-seat Project 7 is a fully functional sports car. It uses the all-aluminum chassis and body of the F-Type, retains that car's 550-horsepower, supercharged 5.0-liter V8 and eight-speed automatic transmission but features lots of bespoke carbon fiber aerodynamic bits, some of which were inspired by the Le Mans-winning D-Type of the 1950s. The most obvious nod to that classic is the rear fairing with integrated rollover hoop - the F-Type's convertible top is gone. The windshield was also lowered, giving the roadster a more rakish silhouette as it sits on 20-inch forged-alloy wheels with carbon fiber inserts.
Jaguar working on 700-hp, 200-mph hybrid F-Type?
Sat, 22 Jun 2013After first driving the 2014 Jaguar F-Type in Spain this spring, we came away mighty impressed. Of course, if you had to pin us down for a top three wish list of what improvements we'd like to see, we'd probably hit you with something like: 1) Less weight. 2) Less weight and 3) Less weight. Oh, and if we're feeling presumptuous, maybe some additional transmission choices.
Despite leveraging aluminum for the body and chassis, this Jaguar is still a bit of a fat cat compared to its rival models from Porsche. We never felt like it was lacking for power in any of its three supercharged trims, least of them the 495-horsepower V8 S, which is a genuine madman. We knew the variants would come, though - a quick look at the rest of Jag's lineup provides all the evidence you need of that. And so we're not surprised to see word of a hyper-powered F-Type on the horizon, an R-S version. What is surprising, however, is a new report that put its motivation at over 700 horsepower and its top speed at 200+ mph. Us? We're just hoping the latter figure comes at least partially as a result of a hardcore diet.
This F-Type R-S news comes according to the rumormongers at AutoExpress, who expect the high-power Brit to come in coupe form, at least initially. We still haven't seen the debut of the fixed-head F, but plenty of spy shots suggest its arrival is imminent. Wildly, AE posits that Jag won't look for more displacement to gain power, it will instead radically downsize by using a 1.6-liter turbo- and supercharged four-cylinder and an array of electric motors. If that sounds familiar, that's because AE suggests the high-tech powertrain will be scavenged from the defunct C-X75 supercar program (interestingly, earlier reports suggested this combination would only deliver about 500 horsepower).
