1955 JAGUAR XK140 FHC. 70,343 Miles, Matching Numbers, Running engine, Complete and ready for restoration. Clear North Carolina in my name in hand. For your consideration is my 1955 Jaguar XK140 Fixed Head Coupe. I purchased the car 18 years ago and have kept it in inside storage. The individual I purchased it from, drove it into his garage and parked it ten years before I bought it. After making my living in the repair and restoration of Jaguar's, my life's course has changed and I will not be able to restore it. Engine # G 2230-8 The engine runs well, and has good oil pressure. (I am running it on an auxiliary fuel tank and pump. The fuel tank and lines need cleaning). Services just completed: Cooling system flushed, New Water Pump, Thermostat, Fan belt and Coolant. Points, condenser, rotor replaced. Carburetors rebuilt, new carb insulators. Oil changed (Castrol 20W-50), new oil filter. Gearbox # JL27193 The gearbox shifts and pulls in all gears. Shift knob missing. The Clutch works. Body # J4133 The body is in overall good condition with some rust on the door lower edges. The right door has had some minor body repair and the filler has fallen off. The rear fender front doglegs and sills were replaced by an amateur and shows! The inner sills and left battery supports need replacing. The car was originally White, and was painted Navy Blue. All the glass is good. The rear window chrome trim is in the trunk, but broken in the curve. The right window regulator needs replacing. The wheels are in good condition, and the tires hold air. The Interior is complete and all original. The seat slides operate. All wood and trim is intact. The headliner has a small rip. The sun visors are intact. Most of the Lucas electrical systems work! The car starts with the ignition switch and starter button. The warning lights and gauges work, instrument lighting works, most exterior lights work. Wipers work. The trunk has the Spare Wheel with hold down, Tire tool, Complete tool set, Jack and Grease gun. The tool for opening the spare wheel compartment and package shelf is in place. The chassis is solid, with only surface rust in some places. The Brake Hydraulics need replacing. The exhaust system needs replacing. Overall this is an excellent car for restoration. It is hard to find a Jaguar XK140 this original, so complete, and running. The washer bottle, original air filter assembly, reverse and right park light lens, and gear knob are the only items missing! I have done my best to accurately describe the car. Please don't hesitate to ask questions. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. I will assist in whatever way necessary. A $500.00 Paypal deposit is due within 24 hours of auction end. Final payment must be made in Cash at time of pick up, or Bank Wire Transfer or Certified funds.

Jaguar spotted testing hardcore F-Type SVR
Tue, Jul 7 2015Jaguar keeps churning out more and more potent versions of the F-Type. And if these latest spy shots are anything to go by, it's got an even more powerful version in the works. Spotted undergoing testing near the Nurburgring is what appears to be a more hardcore variant of Coventry's shapely sports car. Beneath the usual swirly camouflage we can make out a reshaped front end with a deeper splitter and bigger air vents, along with a giant rear wing affixed to the tail atop an enlarged diffuser and quad exhaust tips. The wheels look like they're mounted to a lowered suspension and pack bigger carbon-ceramic brakes as well. Following the Range Rover Sport SVR, Jaguar is likely to label the new F-Type performance flagship as an SVR as well. Jaguar spokesman Richard Agnew confirmed to Autoblog that the R-S badge that previously adorned the most potent Jags is being phased out. That leaves the SVR badge as the most likely to appear on the back of this beast once it reaches production, although that much has yet to be confirmed: "As we stated when Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations was formed," says Agnew, "it is our intention to create a high-performance Jaguar SVR and we are currently evaluating what product to launch first." Nameplates aside, we're more interested in what this amped-up F-Type is packing underneath. We'll likely be looking at an even further enhanced version of the company's signature 5.0-liter supercharged V8 pumping out a good 600 horsepower, which would eclipse both the 550 hp in the F-Type R and the 575 in the Project 7 speedster – potentially driving all four wheels. We'll just have to sit tight to find out, but in the meantime you can scope out the spy shots in the gallery above for a closer look at what Jaguar's Special Vehicle Operations division has got in the cooker. Jaguar Land Rover opens winter testing facility in Minnesota
Wed, 12 Dec 2012As it begins the rollout of the all-wheel-drive Jaguar XJ and XF models, Jaguar Land Rover has just announced that it has opened a new facility in northern Minnesota for winter testing. Located in International Falls, MN (on the US and Canadian border), the British automaker says it is one of the coldest locations in the Continental US. Jaguar's new Instinctive All Wheel Drive system was developed primarily to help sell more cars in the northern US, so it only makes sense to open a testing area in the US as well.
With temperatures that can drop to minus 55 degrees Fahrenheit, International Falls was chosen to mimic some of the worst weather a Jaguar or Land Rover will ever see. The grounds house testing chambers, various road surfaces and even a frozen lake. This new facility complements the hot-weather testing grounds in Phoenix, AZ.
The official press release is posted below.
Watch this Jaguar XJ220 perform a fiery burnout
Thu, 19 Jun 2014We like to think that at least some supercar owners drive their exotic machinery the way they're meant to be driven. The reality is more likely that most pamper them in climate-controlled environments and rarely actually drive them. But Tax The Rich seems dedicated to balancing them all out by hooning the heck out of some of the most expensive and desirable supercars the world has ever seen - whether it's a Ferrari Enzo rallying along dirt roads or a pair of F50s playing tug of war.
The YouTube channel has even played around with a Jaguar XJ220 before, but not quite like this. In its latest clip, Tax The Rich goes a step or two beyond the usual smokey burnout, lighting up the rear wheels of a super-rare Jag, all for our viewing pleasure. And take pleasure we do in the video below, even as part of us cringes at the thought of potentially reducing one of the fastest Jaguars in history to a smoldering hulk.
